Chapter 74 - Success?

"But still… isn't Kiri one of the 5 major villages? Why is it so weak? There's no exceptional ninjas or anything…" Sasuke commented after breathing a sigh of relief that the war was basically over seeing the number of enemy ninjas that had fallen into the ground.

Kakashi nodded and replied with a sigh of relief as well "Don't complain, it's better for us that there aren't any exceptional ninjas since we are the enemies of this village. To answer your question, I've heard that bloodline ninjas are feared throughout even in the land of water. Maybe we can ask Haku. Right? Yuki Haku?"

Haku nodded and explained with a nonchalant face, she wasn't that affected about it anymore, it was already in the past anyway. "Yes, that's true but still they only killed those who had intentions of coup in the past but to the news till today, the 4th Mizukage, Yagura, is like mindlessly killing bloodline clans without any reasons which puzzles me because it caused Kiri to become what it is now. Weak."

Kakashi nodded as that puzzled him as well but it was a good thing for Konoha… the coup was easier because the bloodline clans have been basically annihilated.

Mizukage throne room…

Yagura sat calmly like a king in his throne with emotionless eyes staring at Terumi Mei, Ao, and Zabuza.

"Yagura! Your tyranny ends today!" Mei announced as she weaved handseals.

[Lava Style: Lava Monster Jutsu!]

Yagura instantly jumped up from his seat and with his cane, as if he pulled something out of nowhere, a mirror made out of water appeared in front of him.

[Water Style: Water Mirror Jutsu!]

Mei, of course knew about this and her [Lava Monster Jutsu] was a diversion to get rid of Yagura's sight as the jutsu emitted mist all over the place.

Zabuza and Ao on the side nodded as Zabuza pulled out his Kubikiribocho from its sheath, he jumped up high into the skies.

Ao with his [Byakugan] activated order "Zabuza! 8 o'clock, 10 meters from your location!"

Zabuza smirked as he smashed his greatsword down with incredible might. "You don't have to tell me!"

Boom!

Yagura dodged by jumping into the air, supported by his instinct.

Ao with his [Byakugan] said "Terumi-sama! Above! 12 o'clock!"

Mei fully trusted Ao's eyes, weaving hand seals in an incredibly fast motion as if used to it.

[Water Style: Water Pillar!]

An incredible amount of water was generated from her mouth, into the skies.

Ao also waved hand seals and blew into the mist that was generated from the jutsu of Mei causing it to scatter.

[Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!]

The moment Mei's eyes came into vision of the 4th Mizukage, Yagura after the mist has been blown away.

She instantly followed with another jutsu!

[Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu!]

Sending Yagura into the wall.

"Ahghhhh!" Yagura groaned in pain but started to prepare himself.

But was caught off-guard by Zabuza's following jutsu. Although he was not as fast as Mei, with the opportunity Mei created he had enough time to follow through Mei's jutsu.

[Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu!]

"Gahhhhhhhhh!" Yagura came crashing down to the ground as the jutsu of Zabuza swallowed him up.

On the floor bleeding, he smiled as if triumphant in the battle just now. He was barely breathing, still possessing those emotionless eyes, yet his expression was that of a winner.

Mei looked in disbelief at Yagura. 'This is the 4th Mizukage? What were all those failed assassination attempts for? Why is it so easy?'

What puzzled her more is his expression.

Zabuza smirked and said towards Mei. "We've won! Mei!"

Ao also smiled in celebration but their expressions changed to concern upon seeing Mei's expression.

Zabuza asked "What's wrong? Mei?"

Mei shook her head and said "Don't you think it was too easy? This is the 4th Mizukage we're talking about."

Ao with his [Byakugan] observed Yagura. "There's nothing wrong, Terumi-sama. He indeed possesses Kage-level chakra reserves."

Mei nodded and became even more confused, "but why didn't he defend himself if he had that much chakra? He didn't even use a quarter of it against our fight besides that first [Water Mirror Jutsu.]"

After discussing it for a while, Mei smiled and said "Let's think about that later, first, we have to announce the success of the coup."

Zabuza and Ao simply nodded as the dilemma of Yagura's easy death plagued their mind after Mei's puzzlement.

They looked at Yagura's dead body who still had that smile on his face despite his death.

Walking out of the throne room, they headed into the balcony… With Zabuza and Ao standing behind Terumi Mei. Mei raised her hand in excitement and announced "The Coup has been successful! I thank everyone for their participation in the first step of Kiri towards betterment ending the tyranny of the 4th Mizukage, Yagura! I, Terumi Mei, as the next Mizukage, the 5th Mizukage promise each and everyone's hard work for this change will be rewarded!"

"Yes!" The ninjas of all fronts, either the enemies, or the allies all kneeled in front of the announcement of Terumi Mei. Even the enemies from 4th Mizukage's camp were tired of constant killings and kneeled in front of their new Mizukage, Terumi Mei. Some of them even shed tears of happiness.

The war was over!

1 week later…

Sunagakure has signed an alliance treaty between Konoha making their recovery from the previous war with Konoha more easier.

They knew this favour had to be repaid with loyalty even if it was not officially stated. They will never wage war with Konoha again, under normal circumstances!

Gaara has also come back from Konoha. After sitting in jail for a while, not hearing whispers of the one-tailed fox, he had a good sleep and also time to think about the things that he had done.

Under the scared gazes of both Temari and Kankuro… he noticed that there was a gaze of worry beside it. Why didn't he notice it before?

Gaara commented upon seeing their gazes "I'm sorry, Temari. Kankuro."

Their scared gazes were replaced with a look of shock, and in disbelief Temari and Kankuro looked at each other. 'What happened to Gaara?'

Kankuro nervously laughed as he said "No problem! Gaara! I can do at least this much as your older brother!"

Gaara smiled and said "I see… Thank you…"

Temari in disbelief asked "D-did you just s-smile?"

Gaara in confusion, without really experiencing it before asked "Did I?"

Temari got rid of her scared emotions seeing Gaara's change… Gaara now… is calm… unlike before where he was this bloodthirsty monster… she went and approached her with a hug to express her worry as his older sister said "Are you able to sleep well now? Did they treat you badly at Konoha? Did they give you enough food to eat?"

Gaara once again smiled at this foreign emotion he was feeling thinking 'Is this what love feels like? I feel like I've felt it before…' before replying "Yes, they treated me quite well."

Kankuro also with tears in his eyes went to hug Gaara seeing that Gaara didn't push Temari away "I'm happy for you! I've heard that Konoha has strengthened your seal!"

"Yes. Thank you for worrying about me…" hugging them back he asked in curiosity "Did I express my love right?"

Temari laughed and replied "Well… we have plenty of time, you can learn how to do it in the future. Welcome back Gaara."

Kankuro also chuckled at Gaara's obliviousness towards emotions.

"Hm? Is that so?"

Back in Kirigakure… an alliance has also been set up. Current Hokage, 5th Hokage, Senjuu Tsunade came herself. Under the view of most of the citizens of Kirigakure, she shook hands with the current Mizukage, 5th Mizukage, Terumi Mei. "I look forward to a peaceful alliance."

Terumi Mei smiled as she shook her hand "I look forward to that as well."

The citizens hugged themselves crying tears of joy, and also cheered on the current Mizukage. The bloody mist was gone, and now is being replaced by the gentle breeze of the wind… With the alliance between Kirigakure and Konohagakure. It would bring their village to a stable improvement in their lifestyle…

They were really thankful that the war was now over and them fearing for their lives… They just hope another war would not come into play…

1 month ANL…

Konoha, Kiri, and Suna's alliance has spread towards the world, causing an uproar in the ninja world.

Bang!

The current Raikage, 4th Raikage, A, banged his table upon receiving such news. In anger, he asked "What is the Konoha planning? Are they preparing for war?!"

Cough!

His Secretary, Mabui coughed and said "I've heard they are only after peace. The alliance is to help Kiri and Suna get back on their feet with their sudden downfall as a major village to a minor one with their affairs of coup and Suna's downfall after the attack on Konoha. They've decided to make peace instead of more hatred."

"Bullshit! Like hell I'd believe that! In any case, contact Iwagakure for an alliance just like Konoha has done. Even if I hate that old bitch a lot, we have to do it even for appearance's sake."

Mabui sighed and replied "I'll try…"

Killer B, 8th Tails Jinchuuriki, said jokingly "Brother~ Be careful~ Your blood will reach your head~ and you'll die~ Yeah~"

"Shut up! B!"

"Shut up? B?" Killer B as if inspired started notetaking on his notebook "Shut up~ Yeah~ Killer B~ Is here~"

A got even more annoyed and with a [Body Flicker] he kicked Killer B out the window "Get the hell out of my office!"

"Yeah~" Killer Bee said as he was kicked out of the window.

Crack!
