Chapter 5 – The Sage Doctor

Huang clan was one of the powers in Cloud City, and it held strength and authority that couldn't be faced by just anybody. 

Although it was a clan of bully, they had the strength to hold their ground. 

However, today seemed to be totally different as someone had confronted and dared its authority. 

Everything was going as usual until some hours ago when a pitiful-looking figure who was bleeding from both eyes and whose pants were completely covered in blood appeared and then immediately lost consciousness. 

This person was the only son of the Huang clan's patriarch and for this reason, he was always pampered and given everything he wanted. 

In an instant, the entire Huang clan was scattered and filled with a heavy atmosphere. 

This ambiance soon affected most parts of Cloud City and the news of what happened spread like a wild flame. 

A rumor soon got out, claiming that the young master of the Huang clan had been crippled.

Currently, the inside of the bed chamber of the Huang clan patriarch was filled with people and a woman was sobbing badly, looking at the pitiful-looking figure on the bed. 

"You bastards! How could none of you heal my son? How? How could you all be this useless?!" 

She cried, cursing at the bunch of elderly men and women in the room, however, they dared not retort and just kept their mouths shut. 

The woman continued sobbing and even went as far as to roll herself on the floor, throwing all her face away. 

Finally, after a moment, a majestic-looking middle-aged man who had remained calm all along but oozed out a massive oppressive Aura and killing intent sighed, and then he gently lifted his wife. 

"Boohoo! You… you! What are you still doing here? Tell me! Look at the condition of our son. How could you still be here and not go search for someone who would heal her?" 

"I…" deep pain abruptly flashed in the middle-aged man's eyes, causing him to shut it. 

"Don't worry. I've requested the presence of the best doctor in the city, he will be here soon." 

'What! The best doctor?' 

The hearts of all the doctors in the room skipped for a moment, then deep excitement began to flash in their eyes. 

'I'm going to meet Old man Pu today… this… this might be the best day of my life!' 

They all thought but dared not to speak out. 

Just at that moment, a servant rushed inside and bent his head lowly before announcing loudly. "Master! The sage doctor is here, requesting an audience with you." 

"The doctor is here?" 

Before her husband could even react, the woman had pushed her husband away and run out. 

Watching this, the man wasn't furious, instead, he rushed after his wife. 

The group of doctors in the room exchanged gazes, witnessing this, then they also had the strong urge to also go welcome the sage doctor, however, since now wasn't the time to try building a connection, or else, they might even lose the connection of their lives, they decided to remain quiet. 

Before long, a sage-looking old man with grey hair walked calmly into the room, followed by a young man who was carrying a briefcase and the master and mistress of the Huang clan. 

The hearts of the doctors in the room began to pound at the presence of this old man and they quickly bent their heads respectfully in greeting to him, however, the old man ignored them all, and rather turned to the husband and wife duo. 

"I want the two of you, together with the rats and cats out of this room first before I could do anything." 

The groups of doctors, "_" 

They suddenly smiled wryly, knowing that they were the ones addressed as the rats and cats, but they weren't furious at all, as the respect they had for the old man was just too massive. 

Without waiting to be chased out, the group of old men and women quickly lined up and left the room, leaving behind the old sage doctor, his apprentice, the patient, and the patient's parent. 

"Are… are you sure you'd be able to treat my son?" 

The woman asked carefully, a hint of nervousness and carefulness which she didn't have communicating with the previous doctors showing in her voice. 

This was the influence of the sage doctor. 

Without giving a damn to give face, the doctor frowned slightly and responded with a hint of offense in his voice. "I hadn't even checked the patient yet and you want to get my assurance of treating him? Do you see me as a seer who sees the future?" 

"I…" the woman wanted to apologize and explain that that wasn't what she meant, but her husband quickly shushed her, then dragging her by her hand, they left the room. 

Seeing them gone, the old man snorted coldly and finally took his first glance at the patient, his face however changed greatly in the next moment. 

"Master, are you okay?" 

The apprentice asked, but in response, the old man sighed before shaking his head as though it had nothing to do with him. 

"Even if this guy wakes up in the future, he will never be able to see, walk, and have a child again." 

"What…" the apprentice took a cold breath in and goosebumps ran over his skin. 

"Who was so evil to do someone like this?" 

….. 

Outside, the groups of elders who had left the room were seen waiting patiently right now. 

As for the Huang clan patriarch and his wife, they were pacing about with the wife's face already filled with tears. 

….. 

"You came here to beg for food?" 

Back in the Michelin-starred restaurant, the group of guards at the entrance were gazing dumbfounded at Li Jiahao at this moment. 

They appeared utterly dumbfounded, and it wasn't only them alone. 

Everybody was gazing at Li Jiahao as though he were a beast. 

'Wasn't he supposed to at least have some self-pride even though he's a beggar?' Everybody thought. 

However, Li Jiahao who had no concept of buying nodded his head quickly when he heard the guard's question. 

He appeared to be in haste right now and he felt as though he would go crazy if he wasn't allowed in to have the taste of the divine fragrance he was perceiving. 

After hearing Li Jiahao's honest response, everybody there laughed at him, mocking him, leaving Li Jiahao confused. 

'What's wrong with them?' he gazed at everybody as though they were fools and then he started planning to knock the guard in his front out if the other party didn't let him in. 

"Please, let me pass," Li Jiahao said again, quiet respectfully, however, the guard glared fiercely at him. 

"Pass where? Do you think a place like this is where the likes of you could enter?" 

He glanced down at Li Jiahao in his utterly faded dress and bamboo backpack in disdain. 

Li Jiahao's eyes squinted at this, and then he sighed, feeling that he finally understood why his master always steals others' wine and chicken in the mountain instead of begging. 

Having no intention to harm the other party, Li Jiahao didn't use any Qi. He just raised his hand and was about to knock the guard who still didn't know his position out, when suddenly, a melodious but emotionless voice sounded. 

"Let him in." 

Everybody was first startled when they heard this voice, but they soon became dumbfounded when they saw the owner. 

It was a cold beauty who was currently exiting the restaurant. 

Everybody immediately bowed respectfully when they saw this person, however, Li Jiahao who only had the meals he was going to have in his mind right now failed to see the person. 

"Can I enter now?" 

He asked urgently, and the guard who didn't know whether to laugh or cry quickly nodded his head. 

Immediately, Li Jiahao ran inside, using the speed of a normal person so as not to stand out. 

The cold beauty turned her head and studied him for a moment, then she gestured for the lady behind her to follow. 

It was only after they were gone did the people behind returned to their senses, then they quickly wiped their faces with fear and dispersed.
