Chapter 3: Hey! System?!

Beyond the Blue City, the first ray of sunshine shone from the east, beckoning the arrival of a fresh morning.

However, contrary to the supposed bustling and lively atmosphere of a big city should be, zombies scoured the streets, rummaging for prey as they moved in hordes.

As time slowly passed, the daylight casually announced the bloodstained roads that were in ruins, empty, broken cars, as well as the mutilated corpses infested with disgusting maggots.

Waking up early in the morning, Ning quickly composed herself and jogged to an obscure corner. After successfully lurking behind a large, smelly trash bag, Ning poked out her puppy head and scouted the situation outside the alleyway.

'How sickening...' Seeing the walking zombie and their rotten face, Ning felt the urge to vomit. 'Although these guys are somewhat similar to the one I saw from the movies, seeing them in person is another matter.'

'Alright, let's get going. I'm no coward!' Gradually, Ning silently snuck out of the alleyway.

To Ning's knowledge, she assumed that since Mama dog hadn't come back for two days in a row, something much had happened. Without food and water, she has no better choice but to move somewhere else.

Suppose she were to stay for another day. It's hard to say if she could survive since her body was still that of a six to seven weeks old puppy.

'Although I have never met you before, I hope that you are doing well, Mama dog.' Fixing her two front paws together, Ning closed her eyes and prayed.

Due to Ning's small body size, she was able to travel down the road underneath many of the abandoned cars. Even so, she took each step with great caution, not daring to make any noises.

On her way of searching for food, Ning's mind runs wild, 'System! Hey, System! Hello? Are you there? Answer me!'
