Chapter 6: The Continent

Time passed by and the small covert battles near our kingdoms boards steadily escalated becoming impossible to keep it a secret from the people. Eventually the kingdom had to back peddle and now are defending the line of the south east boarder with the army including the personal army of the dukes and royal family. While they sent out a few letters asking for support from other allied kingdoms.

The main attacking kingdom in the south east is named the Ruil Kingdom which unlike the Pendragaon Kingdom which adopted the nobility hierarchy, they are mostly made up of all commoners with one tyrant a few trusted aids ruling with an iron fist and is the most aggressive human kingdom on the continent.

The kingdom directly at the east who has began to send aid to the Ruil Kingdom is the Diablo kingdom of demons. They have a noblity hierarchy as well however within the kingdom they have two separated powers a king and queen each ruling the kingdom separately. The queen rules the north while the king rules the south of their kingdom respectively.

While the kingdom may be named after king diablo as he has reigned for centuries, that does not discount the fact that the queen named Ursela Nova is not in anyway inferior towards him, in fact some say if not for her being a relatively new power only appearing and dividing the kingdom within the last 50 years while he has had time to cement a proper foundation and relationship between the other kingdoms she could have already gained full control.

This is also why diablo's south side has teamed up with Ruil in order to gain more resources and deepen their relationship in order to fight the Queen.

Pendragon is the kingdom furthest north with only a huge mountain range on the north side called lighting mountains as there are countless lightning strikes that fall there per day.

On the west there is the kingdom of alucard which as you can guess is a kingdom full of vampires, unlike human kingdoms like pendragon and Ruil that have all races whether human, dwarf, elf, beastfolk, demon, or vampires the kingdom of alucard and diablo exclusively home their respective races. (Vampires, and demons respectively)

That does not mean people cannot travel or trade there, however no other race permanently lives there. It is also the case for the elf kingdom Ropar, or at least that is what is speculated however it is not public knowledge of where it is or even if it still exists. No elf ever interrogated was able to answer these questions meaning they truly do not know or there was something stopping them from revealing even under torture.

In the north west Is the nation of beastfolks that are divided into smaller independent countries based on their subspecies such as wolves, lions, cats, foxes and more. While they tend to be more or less aligned on bigger issues and hold meetings between each country to discuss issues on a national level, it is not uncommon for war to breakout between some and alliances to be made or broken to gain more control.

In the south there is an empire that is another human dominanted one ruled by the Frost family. They tend to stay out of low level scrimmages and only move when necessary. They have the biggest population, land and longest uninterrupted history.

This is also the place Elaine is originally from, her family is the hearts and their family head holds the title of count as well. Elaine heart is a only child, her family and upbringing was strict but also she grew up with love. The reason they agreed to sent her to the pendragon kingdom to be with count winters is not only beacuse of political gains but also at that time there were only good things being said about count winters as he was one of the hero's of the Great War.

Unfortunately no one could have predicted his cruel and uncaring personality that only got worse when time had past. With greed and arrogance becoming the main traits that could be said to describe him now. But once that became apparent it was too late and Elaine found herself isolated and living only for her son.

Finally there is a 100km wide gap between the entire boarder of every kingdom that connects with itself and has been dubbed deadman's paradise as after millenniums of constant war between the new and old kingdoms have made these lands uninhabitable and void of any life, a complete barren wasteland where only rogues or criminals such as bandits occupy.
