POV Vega
As I was watching the whole ordeal play out between Iron man, Thor, and Cap. I realized things had to change. A plan began to form in my in my mind, not a good one but I have mostly been passive in this whole invasion plan that Loki cooked up.
It was time for a massive change one that would keep earth and more importantly my family safe. I'll call in a favor from old man Odin to make sure they are both taken care of.
I turn to Natasha and let her know "Tell Fury I, am going to work things from a different angle. I'll be there when he needs me most."
Natasha with a confused look asked. "Where are you going Vega, we are supposed to come up a plan of action." I tell her "I got a king to meet and a family to say goodbye to."
Natasha's face and eyes convey doubt and for some reason suspicion. Then she ask the million dollar question. "What king and why, would have to say goodbye to your family?"
I answer with a smile forming on my face. " The only king that matters. When gods think they can fuck with his kingdom, and not suffer any consequences."
Leaving the other half of that question unanswered. I blast off into the atmosphere to get a little sunlight. As I soak the bright rays of a morning sun. I turn to face earth letting the rays hit my back, and as I look at that jewel of humanity. I clench my fist and say a silent vow that can only be heard as a whisper in space.
"Be they god or devil, human or inhuman, titan or celestial. None shall take this planet from me, for I am done holding back. If they come I'll shatter their very existence."
With a lingering gaze I call out" Heimdall open the bifrost." He must have been watching because as soon as I finish shouting. The bifrost descends with its signature kaleidoscope of colors.
You never truly get used to traveling via ancient cosmic bridge built by juiced up space Vikings, but honestly it's a pretty magical experience. Literally seeing the nine realms flash before your eyes is incredible.
Then in an instant it changes, I am now standing in the engine of the bifrost with all its golden glory. Heimdell is standing on the podium like a badass. In is golden armor and hands on that signature sword of his.
He says, "the king is expecting young Vega." Giving him a nod of understanding, I take of across the bridge and into the city. Flying over the city and seeing all of the normal Asgardians going about their day is special. Anyone one of them could be a super soldier on earth but here, but on Asgard they are doing mundane tasks like cooking, cleaning, and the occasional bar brawl.
Closing in on the keep in the center of Asgard and doing a super hero landing at the entrance. The guards give a nod and like any man I nod back. Walking through the halls of looking at the history around me. I plan on what I am going to say to Odin. I can't leave anything to chance, a lot of lives are riding on this meeting with the king.
Entering the throne room through a pair of gigantic doors. I see Odin sitting on his throne all dressed up for battle with Gungnir in his hand. As I think what a badass internally, I stop before the throne and giving him a salute straight out of AOT.
The king gives me a look with his one eye scanning from head to toe. As he finally speaks after, what feels like an eternity of him judging me. "Why have you come here boy? Your planet needs you." Giving myself a mental pick me up I let him know my plans.
"King Odin I come to you today knowing my planet is in mortal danger to ask you for a favor. I know of the dangers that are out their in the vast cosmos, and one of those threats is one his way to earth right now." I take a deep breath and continue, "Thanos is sending an army to earth at this very moment and at the head of this army is your wayward son. Loki has struck a deal with the mad titan for the space stone that is on earth. Loki gets earth to prove that he can be a ruler and Thanos gets one more infinity stone for is mad plan, to bring the universe into balance."
As I talk Odins face is unreadable, it's like he has a millennia of experience masking is intentions. Oh wait he has, the old bastard knows about everything I just told him already.
When I stop talking he starts to speak himself, "I know about Thanos plans boy, you are not giving me a good reason. Why you are not on earth right now planning for the safety of your world." As soon as he says his peace, I cut straight to the point as not to anger the king of the gods. "King Odin I have a plan to confront Thanos army after your son opens a portal for the chitauri armies to come through I'll head through that portal alone to confront them." I pause to let that sink into the king's mind and then I continue. "After I decimate the chitauri fleets and space station. I'll take the fight to Thanos himself, I won't confront him at first I'll attack his supply lines and any worlds that are under is control. I'll destroy every asset he has in the universe leaving him for last. I know Thanos is strong, one of the strongest warriors in the universe."
I exhale the deep breath that was building in my lungs from my monologue. When I glance back at Odin he is looking at me with a flicker of respect, in his otherwise stoic demeanor and gives me a piece of his mind. "That is a suicidal plan, respectable but extremely suicidal. Now what does this idiotic plan have to do with me?"
I falter as he calls me out, but I can't change my mind now. "I know it's stupid but it's the best I can come up with. I got the speed on my side so I might as well use it. Odin what I need from you is time, time to grow stronger. As long as I take a couple of sun dips especially in a blue star, I'll have the strength to match Thanos easily. If you protect my family from harm while I am away, I would be eternally grateful and owe you a favor when Ragnarok comes for Asgard."
Odin's stoic demeanor finally cracks, showing surprise and genuine interest now. Then a smile graces is face and his voice booms with a decree, "Jason Vega guardian of earth and champion of Asgard. I Odin, King of the nine realms charge you with a sacred duty, bring the fight to Thanos and his armies throughout the know universe. In return for your service, Asgard is honor bound to protect those you hold dear. On my Odin-Force I make this solemn vow that even if I fall the ancient magic will protect his parents from all harm."
When Odin makes his vow is see the Odin-force manifest for the first and I got to say it humbling. The sheer power of it almost brought me to my knees. Only through sheer will and reciting some runic magic of my own kept me on my feet. Even then it still brought sweat to my perfect kryptonian skin. The Odin-Force felt endless and it made me realize I had a long way to go to even catch up to the old man on the throne.
Odin gave a nod of approval and spoke again. "Go forth Vega bring the mad titan to his knees." With no time to waste I give him a salute goodbye, and I blast off at top speed to the bifrost. Making it there in a blink of an instant Heimdall gives me a nod of approval and opens the bifrost for me as I zoom past him.
Back in the same spot in earths orbit where I got picked in outer space, I head directly to the sun at light speed because there isn't a whole lot of time to waste. I'll wait in the sun for the action to start back on earth and intervene when the portal is open.
As I am meditating in the sun I go over all the runic magic I know, so I am prepared to cast spells on the fly to keep civilian casualties to a minimum when the battle of New York starts. Multitasking a little I am trying to compress the solar energy entering my body to get as much energy as possible. Just in case there is a red sun where ever the Chitauri army is at in space.
