------------

James look petrified at the sight before him, a figure 5"7 in height was floating right in front of their tank.

He weighs no less than 150 lbs. Although most of the weight on the figure was of course his body; which weighed 90lbs in total. Meanwhile, his tail weighed 60lbs which was 30lbs less than his total body mass.

The figure looks very imposing. Meanwhile, he had dark blue skin, and black marks all over his body, resembling ancient tribal markings and tattoos, a good amount of them were also glowing an ethereal but ominous shade of neon pink.

However, the black marks were more prominent than the pink marks, seeing the pink mark were more like outlines and stripes on his tail and horn.

And they extended so much across his body to the point that they even act as a semblance of clothes for him. Seeing that the black mark travels down his entire lower half stopping at the base of his heels.

But the most notable feature wasn't his skin or the colored marks. But rather; it was his full black hair that reach to his back. They weren't hair of course, but instead a colony of black snakes all moving on their own, looking at them fiercely from through the monitor while hissing at them.

Second to that was his large pair of black, pink, and blue horns, both horns were fully black but the right had a glowing neon blue stripe pattern, and the left was the same only the color was neon pink giving him a very we esoteric and demonic appearance.

Despite that though, the most notable feature of him however was of course his long fully black, neon blue, and neon pink snake/dinosaur-like tail that was far larger than his body, being 1.5 meters long, and 24 inches thick.

And speaking of thickness it reminds them all of a T-rex tail with the pattern and design of a snake tail.

However, James wasn't an idiot, he knew what this man was. Looking at him the being in question had a face that lacks any emotions at all. That alone wasn't a good sign, if anything it terrified him.

Normally he wouldn't pay any mind to others that don't concern him, however, this person was special. Not because he was flying, or his otherworldly appearance.

Instead, it was the black halo on his head. In this world, there exists only one being that had these special haloes.

And they were referred to as invaders. Beings from a different world of higher order and principle. They were both strong and unmatched. The only way to even kill them is to kill them in large groups.

Their power for a better lack of words is beyond the human imagination as such invaders, aka Beyonders, are revered as calamity with legs.

In this world, they are also worshiped and respected like literal kings/queens, and emperors. Hell, some even go as far as to worship them as Gods in awe, fear, and respect for their power.

But just as James was lost for words. He heard Mark call for him from up above.

"J-J-J...JAAAMES!...

This was expected, James knew that Mark and Hope won't make a hasty decision, but he still worried for his teammate's life. So he rushes up the hatchet.

And he was introduced with the sight of Mark and Hope pointing their weapons toward the mysterious blue man. Their hands were trembling with fear, the atmosphere was tense but thick with suspense and fear.

James knew better than anyone else, that it was going to take more than even a fully charged plasma tank to take down a beyonder as their power surpasses theirs by leaps and bonds.

But just as James was going to step in, and see what the Beyonder wanted with his crew. He was suddenly met with the voice of a man ringing in his head.

'You're the leader of this group right?'

'Wait... This voice, haaa?... Is this your voice beyonder?'

'Beyonder?'

The Mysterious figure asked, only to follow up with.

'Ohhhh. I see, I understand now... Thank you so much for sharing... Have a nice day mercenary.'

And like that, the mysterious figure flew away at high speed going northwards. One-second passes, two-second passes, and then three-second passes.

*¡Bammm!*

*¡Thud!*

Two things happen, first, the mysterious Beyonder was far out of sight, and second, both Mark and Hope fell to the ground; landing on their knees as they were sweating profusely, as they were also shaking in fear.

At that moment no words could be described, just how afraid they felt. Team Odella had been in many life-and-death situations before. It was something that came with a carrier. And yet never in all their life, did they feel so hopeless.

This team of professional Mercenaries has a body count of more than five digits when added together. But after this encounter, it was reduced to a group of scared children.

Mark grabs his heart and laughed in a crazed manner, as he said.

"Hahaha... Hahaha... I.. Haha... I thought I was going to fucking die."

Meanwhile Hope, unlike Mark passed out the moment Ophis left the premises.

James was slightly mentally drained at this point, but he had a very strong will, so unlike the others; he could keep his composure to some degree, however, the encounter was rather rare, just as it was weird, and yet equally terrifying to boot.

However, he was lost for words. Just what did they do to have such a shitty day.

The answer never did come, but as he looks in the direction that the Beyonder went, he couldn't help but say to himself.

'That Beyonder, is he... No, it couldn't be right?'

James said to himself as he look in the direction the Beyonder was going towards. But knowing their behavior it shouldn't even be a surprise.

And after thinking a little more deeply about the subject. He convinces himself that was indeed the case.

'*Sigh* what am I even thinking about, of course, it is... Why wouldn't he? Based on the direction it is clear to me that he is heading towards City-T.'

[Ophis Pov]

6000 meters above the ground, Ophis was flying at a remarkable speed, at this rate he would reach the City-T in about ten, to fifteen minutes tops.

And to make things even better the Nagasaur in question was in a very good mood. Why? Well, it was simple. He read the minds of James, Mark, Paul, and Hope.

And he got a lot of information from doing that, hell he knew the entire life stories of each of those mercenaries now.

It was like watching a TV drama back in the day. But with Paul and James' background, he also learns many military secrets, along with their most disturbing secrete as well.

"Good blackmail... I mean much-needed information that can be utilized in the future."

But apart from that; he was now well familiar with the history of this world as well. And the locations of the different cities within Paragon.

The closest city was City-T, which was a couple of hundred miles away from the four-star Ruin that he left.

But the greatest catch wasn't the information that he forcefully took away. No! It was something else. Yes, Something else entirely.

It wasn't long before he heard Thaumela's voice ring in the back of his head.

[Notice. $456,553.21¢ has been deposited to your bank account]

[Notice. 20,000$ has been deposited to your bank account]

[Notice you now have a total of $873,129.55¢ in your bank account]

Externally zero emotions were shown by Ophis, but internally he had a devious face. A face full of greed, after all, he needed money to survive in this game as well.

'Hehehe. 800k+ dollars, am I dreaming?'

Ophis sighed to himself, in all his life, he has never seen that much money in his bank account.

And to suddenly go from 3$ to $873,129.55¢ in a matter of seconds and with such ease, was exhilarating, to say the least. And the most shocking thing yet was the fact that he got this with his thoughts alone.

What does that mean, well when he was reading team Odella's mind. He learns that the group had some cash on them in their bank account.

And Ophis couldn't help himself, he hacked their bank account and took whatever remained of their income, and seize everything they had on them at the moment for himself.

"Hahaha... This is fucking awesome, but I need more money. Hell, this is hardly enough for a night vision implant back in my old world. At best, all this could do is update my Celebrium to the latest model."

"I need more money, and you bet your ass I'm going to get it. Well based on Mark's memories the best way to get rich is to become a mercenary, open up a business, start a gang, and seize territory."

"Hmmmmmmm... What to do... What to do?"

Ophis thought to himself. And then he realizes how much the Beyonders were feared and revered in this world.

And it wasn't long before he made up his mind. Life is about the hustle, and sticking to one alternative when multiple paths were before you wasn't Ophis style of doing things. He was a very greedy and opportunistic person. And because of this behavior, he didn't want just one slice but the whole pizza.

That's why making his decision right there and then at that moment was quite easy. As he said out loudly.

"Ah. Fuck it! I will do it all, I will become a mercenary, I will start my own gang, I will open multiple businesses across the twenty-six cities, and while I'm at it; I will make my own religion, I will hack the rich, and I will PK my way to the top aha hahaha! What a wondrous day it was indeed."
