Chapter 68. Assumption

After Maria and Svetlana left the unconscious Daria, they return to the assembly room.

And as they arrived to the assembly room, they see Detective Yusupov is standing outside with two police officers beside him.

He has a talk with Inspector Yaroslav.

Inspector Yaroslav had finished the interrogation process with the servants, chefs and the gardeners.

Maria and Svetlana heard their conversation a little bit and then, they return to their room.

Detective Yusupov says, "So Yaroslav, how's the interrogation going with all the staffs in this mansion, do you get an information that might gives us a hint about the culprit?"

Inspector Yaroslav sighs and replies, "I don't receive any information, most of the staffs just do the work normally as always and they said that theres nothing wrong at all during the process of the party. But….."

Detective Yusupov says, "But…..?"

Inspector Yaroslav continues speaking, "They said that a month ago, the former headmaid been found dead on the maze garden."

Detective Yusupov says,

"Who found the body?"

Inspector Yaroslav replies, "They said that the butler was with her, the butler said that the headmaid was murdered by an assassin who wears a long red cape and a red mask with a symbol of "X" on the mask."

Detective Yusupov then starts thinking.

Inspector Yaroslav says, "According to me, that the butler lied. The way he said about the cause of the former headmaid's death is sounds like that he just made it all up, so the others don't have a suspicion towards him."

Detective Yusupov then replies,

"So that's what you think, hmm….. but don't accuse others just by your own assumption, Yaroslav. We should gather concrete proofs at first or even an eyewitness."

After that, Sir.Igor suddenly appeared.

Sir.Igor covers his wounds on his stomach with his right hand and he holds on to the wall with his left hand.

He says,

"Officers, take me to my master."

Detective Yusupov and Inspector Yaroslav surprised.

Then, Sir.Igor suddenly fell to the floor.

Inspector Yaroslav immediately ordered the officer to help him.

Detective Yusupov says,

"Speak of the devil."

After that, the officers help him get up.

Sir.Igor says again,

"Take me to Master Gregory."

Inspector Yaroslav feels suspicious towards Sir.Igor.

Inspector Yaroslav says,

"Are you the butler of this mansion?"

Sir.Igor replies, "Yes, I am. That's why, please take me to my master."

Inspector Yaroslav then says,

"Wait, before that, I want to ask you a few questions."

But suddenly, Detective Yusupov says, "Let him meet his master."

Inspector Yaroslav surprised and replies, "Wait what?!, are you sure that you gotta let him meet with General Gregory Grosvenor."

Detective Yusupov nods and replies, "Yes, its alright, let this old butler meet him. Perhaps, maybe theres something important that he wants to say towards General Gregory. And probably his information could gives us a clue."

After that, Inspector Yaroslav allowed Sir.Igor to meet with Master Gregory.

The two officers help him to walk.

Then, the officers bring him into the ballroom and meet Master Gregory.

Detective Yusupov and Inspector Yaroslav walk behind Sir.Igor.

As they finally meet, Master Gregory surprised to see Sir.Igor full of wounds.
