The house of Daniel and Sarah was built in an area of some 2000 sq. feet. The outer perimeter was surrounded by an invisible electromagnetic force field to prevent all forms of intrusion. There were even fighting droids and drones.
Inside the drawing-room, Daniel and Sarah were on their knees. Kiba was crouching in front of them when he turned around.
"Agatha?! How..." Kiba muttered in disbelief.
Daniel was also shocked by the sudden appearance of Agatha. He couldn't understand how she too could enter after all the security arrangements.
"Were the security arrangements really defective?!" Daniel wondered.
Agatha ignored their shocked reactions. With a sigh, she said, "Kiba, let us return."
"Return? I have to settle a score," Kiba replied.
"You have punished them enough," Agatha stepped towards him, "There is no need to ruin them further."
Agatha was able to realize what he planned to do after thinking of the events at the restaurant, the words he told before leaving, and his dreams.
She could also guess why he wanted to destroy Sarah's marriage.
The pain of a physical injury was temporary and so was the loss of financial resources. Even death was also momentary.
Kiba wanted to give the couple eternal pain by taking away what they truly cared about: respect, integrity, and love.
He wanted them to experience ultimate humiliation and trauma.
"I don't agree with you!" Kiba rose to his feet and opened his phone.
"No!" Sarah screamed again.
Just as Kiba was about to press 'send,' Agatha snatched his phone.
"Agatha, return my phone!" Kiba coldly said.
"When your woman is pregnant with your child, you have to indulge all her wishes!" Agatha caressed his face with her fingers, "Surely you won't deny me my right!"
Daniel and Sarah's eyes narrowed in shock.
"She was truly pregnant with his child!?" Daniel wondered.
He thought it was just a baseless rumor.
Agatha was smiling, but Kiba could see the firmness in her eyes. If it was someone else, he would have used force, but not with Agatha.
He gritted his teeth and walked towards the exit.
"Phew~" Agatha stepped behind him and thought, "Thank god I still have some charm left despite pregnancy!"
Daniel was still in his Lizard transformation. After looking at the situation, he was sure he could use Agatha and the child inside her to take away the recording Kiba has.
Without any warning, he jumped up on his feet and charged at Agatha. Kiba had just reached the door when he felt Daniel catching up to Agatha.
Just as he was about to use his powers, he was stunned.
"This...!"
Daniel tried to clutch Agatha but his body passed right through her.
"Intangibility?" Daniel grumbled.
He turned his body back and saw Agatha looking at him with an icy expression. He also noticed the look of horror on his wife, something that startled him.
"Daniel... what happened to you!?" Sarah's face lost color.
"What do you mean!?" Daniel felt a sense of crisis.
He looked at his body parts and was terrified. His body had become transparent like a ghost!
It was like he was a phantom with no material existence!
"What?!" His scalp turned numb with dread.
"Am I really that much of an easy target?" Agatha's voice was full of coldness as she arrived in front of him. "Despite what you did, I saved you and your wife! Yet you dare target me again?!"
Agatha stretched her hand into his chest, moving towards his heart. His body was like a ghost but when her palm gripped his heart, the heart materialized.
"Ahhh!" Daniel felt indescribable agony.
His breathing turned hectic and his entire body lost color. He transformed into his normal self, but the agony only increased.
His veins shivered and the blood flow inside him turned chaotic.
"Urgh!" Daniel continued to cry. Agatha's face turned colder and she increased the pressure.
"Please spare him!" Sarah pressed her forehead on Agatha's heels, "He is the father of my children!"
Agatha's expression remained cold and she further increased the pressure on Daniel's heart.
"Please... you are about to become a mother! You would know the importance of having a father in the children's life!" Sarah pointed at her family portrait, "I beg you! Please let him go!"
Agatha looked at Sarah's begging expression and then the family portrait. She released a heavy sigh and freed Daniel.
With a thumping sound, Daniel collapsed on the floor.
"There would be no forgiveness next time!" Agatha said coldly, "I swear that on my child!"
"I understand! Thank you!" Sarah wiped her tears and proceeded to help her husband.
----
Agatha arrived in front of Kiba and said, "Let us return."
Kiba nodded and the two of them were surrounded by a column of white light.
When Agatha opened her eyes, she found themselves in the bedroom of their apartment. She stepped into the washroom and opened the tap.
~splash~
She splashed water on her face and sighed as she recalled the events in the last few weeks.
"Why can't people stay out of others' business?" Agatha thought as she wiped her face with a towel.
A minute later, she returned to the bedroom. Her eyes focused on Kiba and noticed his downcast expression. From what she could feel, he was still angry.
"I'm sorry for forcing you in public," Agatha apologized.
She could understand that his pride and ego would have been hurt after she forced him to change his decision.
"You think I am angry because you shattered my fragile ego?" Kiba asked her.
"You are not?" Agatha was startled.
"I don't want to admit but your existence is far more important than my ego and pride. So there was no question of me being offended."
"Then why do you have anger in your voice?" Agatha inquired as she stepped towards him.
"Because you are far too kind!" Kiba replied as he lay down in the bed. "The world would never reciprocate your kindness! You experienced it firsthand and yet you spared Daniel!"
"I couldn't bring myself to deprive his children of their father," Agatha slept beside him and explained, "I imagined what if my life was swapped with Sarah, and the scenario terrified me!"
"That's why you are naive!" Kiba placed a hand on her belly, "If the roles were swapped, you can be sure that no one will spare me or our child!"
"I..." Agatha didn't know how to respond. She knew what he said was the truth.
After a moment of consideration, she said, "I promise to never repeat this mistake ever again! Never!"
"As long as you learned your lesson, it is fine," Kiba replied with a heavy sigh. "Honestly, you should have allowed me to deal with things."
"I would never allow that!" Agatha's voice suddenly turned firm.
"Hmm?" Kiba was stunned by the determination.
"I don't want you to become a monster due to me or Hope!" Agatha said in a solemn tone.
She was aware he wanted to ruin Sarah's life in order to take revenge for her.
But such an act could haunt him throughout life. After all, how can a person live properly after destroying someone else's life?
This was the main reason why she stopped him from publishing the news clip.
"What are you talking about? I did what I did because I wanted to!" Kiba refuted.
"You think I didn't notice the guilt when we talked after the news was out?" Agatha had a smile on her face as she continued, "I know you far better than you give me credit for!"
"You are right about the guilt, but you are wrong if you think I will feel haunted or remorseful for ruining someone else's life," Kiba said with a smirk.
Agatha was bewildered by his words.
"My sense of wrong and right is far different from yours!" Kiba explained further, "Otherwise you think I can pursue my dreams?"
Agatha couldn't help but laugh. Indeed, his way of thinking was far too different.
"Yet I like you!" Agatha said as she rested her head on his chest. "You have brainwashed me!"
"I thought it was you who brainwashed me seeing how docile I am now!" Kiba smiled.
"Still I pray you don't turn to the dark side ever again," Agatha ran her fingers on his face, "I like the skirt chaser Kiba more than the cold-hearted Kiba I saw at Sarah's house."
