FIRST MISSION

Though it was hurting from deep down, what else can he do? I gause it was his destiny to die with such an illness. No cure, no clue about what exactly caused it. What else or what more can he do? Despite the problems they are going through now, he can't abandoned others and concentrate on his own problems, cause he'll still die. What's left now it's to take life they way it is and try to move on. Those were the thoughts running down Luca's head. With a droop, his hands settled onto his knees weakly staring at them. Regretting about something. He bite on his lip lightly a chuckle escaping from his mouth then again he went silent not believing what he just heard. ' A growth, inside my own brain? Huh! Am dying now, it's true, this time it's not about imaginations but reality, huh! What a fate.' he murmured sitting on the ground. ' That Alah or whatever she is, Incase you meet her somewhere, tell her am ready, am waiting for her to take me, am no more afraid since have been proven that am dying, furthermore, there's nothing to waste.' he spoke his head staring on the ground. ' After some months or years, I'll turn like these sand, I'll be no more.'

' Luca, Luca why can't you try and clear your brain first then try to find a solution. You might survive.' Lyn convinced sitting closer to him. Her one hand was on his shoulders almost breaking into tears.'

' I'll rather die than survive. No matter how many times l survive, I'll still die. And again you've proven, and that witch wants me dead, what more can l do?'

' You don't need to do anything Luca, we'll find away once we finish with this damned woman. You'll get treated.' Alex intervened squarting Infront of him. Will always be there for you, no matter what, and l won't let that woman to get closer to you nor to anyone. That's a bet.'

' Haah! I wish l could have a courage like yours. What if we die all of us, would you still bet?'

' Yes! I'll die protecting you and the others. The bet still remains, l died helping you.'

' Huh! Alex, l find your words a bit encouraging but again l can't help it. I might die even now, so anyway, l don't want to die like these bush rat, even though It had struggled to save itself but it seemed the killer didn't let it, haahhahh! Was it you siz? You mean you killed this bush rat, with just a stick? He questioned his eyes shining with happiness.'

' What's wrong, can't l be a killer too? Lyn asked with a confused face.'

" No, you must be a good killer, timing at the perfect spot, an really happy you can now kill.' Luca touted staring at the bush rat throat as Lyn spokes.

' Did you forget they say, Kill or you get killed.'

" Haahh! You used the saying perfectly. Anyway, others might be worried waiting for us. We need to go back and plan before that witch returns. Am going to prepare the meal by myself, huh! You'll know am a good cook.' he praised as they walk away.

Lyn murmured a thank you inside Alex's ear as they continue chatting on their way, Alex just twisted his lips then scooped her from the ground running past Luca who immediately followed them with a complain.

' This are one of the things that I'll love to do before l die, but since am dying, I'll enjoy in heaven with Abraham and Moses. With the seven virgins Infront of me, Haahh!' he chuckled running after them.'

' Don't worry, you still got my sister Linet. She's young but not young when it comes to love. With a warning, don't rush her, you might be rejected even before a trial, huh!

' What dude, are you telling me these now? How will l get the guts to speak to her? Ghosh! You're scaring me?' With a chuckle from Alex and Lyn, they entered a certain path that lead towards out of the forest. Alex put Lyn down but still his hands not leaving hers making Luca to feel a little jealous. With a groan from his throat, he stared at the bush rat in his hand and he imagined that he was holding Linet, then he murmured ' Last super, dude, am gonna devour you like never before.'

' Hey you, where have you been? We thought that the witch maybe had kidnapped you? What went wrong? Andy asked coming closer to them Linet on the opposite side. Luca stared at both of them then another hit of jealousy strike his throat. He just swallowed the hard lump again not minding his stares walking past them.

' Sorry, we were just dealing with some troubler, but now it's okay even if he's still showing, it's not like before.' Alex explained his attention drifting back to Luca who was now preparing the meal in silence. Linet with a sad face staring at him, she quickly moved towards his direction then went and stood Infront of him, her eyes not leaving his body.'

' You're fine? She asked when she noticed that he won't look up.'

' Do l look like? His reply came in a whisper but she was quick to catch the words.'

' No, you don't seem like. I'll prefer if.....

' Then why ask if you know am not okay? Yes am not okay, are you satisfied? He questioned his eyes staring at hers. He quickly regained his conscious after realizing what he just said. ' I....l...am sorry. I didn't mean to shout. Am just a....

' It's okay, l can understand. Anyway leave away the topic. Can l help you?

' You, Linet l know or. No, you might be an imposter, you're not linet.'

' Haha! Don't be stupid Luc. It's still me, the same you knew till now. People do change.'

' Ahhhh! So you've changed huh! Show me then? He asked with a smile on his face.

' Okay, help me with the knife then. Am a good cook too.'

' Well, am your butler then. I'll serve you with everything.' his reply was in a sarcastic way which made her to laugh even louder creating attention from the others who were busy creating a place to sleep using strong leaves.

' l bet he's such a drama king. It's barely an hour, and they are talking as if they've been friends for a long time.' Alex blubbered as Andy gives him a curious eye.

' I love when he's happy. His laugh is enough to make me feel at ease. Am so thankful to you Alex, for your sweet words. Hope I'll repay you one day.'

' No need Sweet Lyn, a promise is a promise. I don't back out.' he said kissing his lips lightly causing Andy to look away and concentrate with what he was doing.'

' This kids, they gonna make me go blind even if l don't want to. They've got no manners at all, or am l not old? Mr Tan muttered staring at himself. With a chuckle, Andy spoke.

" Don't lie to yourself old man, you're too old, infact you're dying soon. Haahh! His words made the old man to stand and start chasing him with a whip in his hands angrily. ' How can he die, soon, no' he thought going after him.' Even though it was dark, artilist they created some memorable memories together.

' I love this life. No death, no stress just you, you alone ' Alex spoke as the fire they've lighted brightens his face . They were devouring on their meal silently, hoping that somehow Drew could be with them too. A small smile escaped from his lips squeezing Lyn in his arms more closer.

'Hope we won't be separated , forever.' he said his eyes turning into tears but he didn't let them fall.

After so many conversations and sharing laughters, it was their time to plan. To work on their first mission on how to attack ALAH, this time not sparing her. Quickly Andy started sharpening the small sticks that the old man had collected, forming them into small arrows as Alex and Linet helps him to dip them inside the deadly black old snake poison which Mr Tan had mixed with the blood of the bush rat that was still fresh. He had said that once the arrow stabs her, she'll feel unconscious for some times since her body will be using human souls to strengthen herself. And that will be their turning point. It was dark though, but they needed to plan before sleeping. On the other hand, Mr Tan was helping Alex on how to say and command a ghost using the unknown language that him too understands but a little. The reason why he decided to teach him was because he had notice that Alex can speak Vonnol. The language of the dead that can also control them unknowingly.
