I quickly ask shell in an exited voice "Shell can you please explain the new features?"

'... That's pretty good. Not bad at all. And free at that... well minus the 6 days it took it was pretty free.' I thought

'It seems Jad and the monkeys are doing fine. And I now have a pet... a grass hopper I believe. So what should I name him?' I puzzled.

'Well he is green... and he likes to hop around... and he is pretty fast for a level one creature.'

It was then that memories of a world he hadn't thought of for a long time began to resurface. He found himself in a small apartment complex looking anxious at a small furry shape in his arms. After a few minutes he had a small bowl of water and left over food sat out on the floor. He sat down and looked at the small furry ball of a dog leap around in excitement as it ate the food happily. "Well little pup... I wonder what I should call you?" Alex said with a distant look on his face. The dog reacted to his voice and started to jump around in happiness. Alex looked at it for a second and slowly said "Skip... I'll call you Skip. Because it looks like you are Skipping with happiness when you prance about." Alex smiled for a moment.

I found myself confused. The memory that had just resurfaced in my head seemed to be filled with sadness and happiness. But I couldn't remember ever having a dog.. let alone one named skip...

Maybe this is a hint? Should I name him Skip? Now that he thought of it... the few hours of watching him hop around did make him feel warm. Almost like a little kid skipping around after having a great day... with no care in the world....

"I think I'll name you Skip. A name forgotten but not lost..." As he said this the system sent a notification.

"I guess? What is a naming ceremony?" I asked confused.

<Host has confirmed. The system is extracting three forgotten skills and 10 future AP and distributing them to the pet known as 'Skip'.>

"Wait what?!?!" I said frantically. Before I knew it a sharp pain echoed through my body as I felt something like potential be sapped out of me. Not only that but my head became clouded as memories seemed to be stolen away by the system.

<Naming Ceremony successful. Stat's have been boosted of chosen creature. Three skills have been learned and two have been created.>

I look at the small grass hopper on the ground in a slight anger. "Greedy son of a --" I was interrupted by the little creature. Skip started to hop up in down in great excitement, it seemed to have gained a personality. It skipped around me and after a few moments gently landed on the tip of my head before rubbing against me gently.

The words that I was about to say became lost at the strange feeling in my stomach. It was one of... long lost happiness. Like I'm seeing a childhood friend for the first time in years. Or.... a long lost..... pet.

After playing with him for awhile I gently asked shell for his character panel.

"Damn that was a boost and a half. I mean look at those skills. And what are with those two special skills? And were did Hop go?"

Skill Description: This ability allows the user to skip through space. At level one this allows you to instantly move one meter. This drains your stamina by a large amount. At higher levels this will increase the space you can Skip through and decrease the amount of stamina used.

{Snakes Best Friend LV: MAX}

Skill Description: Man like snake, dog like green hopper. He is Alex's best friend and always will be. While by the Snake Alex, the user will have his abilities strengthened. You will also gain +50% EXP when close to your master.

"Why the hell do you get such an easy start? I mean seriously? You get an instant movement speed at level 1?! What is this cheat? After a few minutes I managed to calm down. I managed to talk and play with Skip for awhile before realizing that not only did his EXP increase while being by me but also his skills. For instance he increased his Skip skill to level two in just a few hours. This is just so.... Unfair...

After a few more hours I was disturbed by a knock on the door. I looked up and found Double and a small boy enter the room. The boy looked to be around 7 years of age and looked very shy. He wore a green cloak with silver clasps and seemed to hide behind double. Double had a large amount of supplies on him as did the small boy.

"We are ready to go Alex. I have told Skylar what to do from here to keep them busy. They will be spending the time we are gone focusing on agricultural developments as well as increasing there defense and the strength of there guards. Hopefully by the time they are done with that we will be able to be back in town." Double said in a serious tone. He looked at my confused expression for a moment before he realized that I was staring at the young boy at his side.

He slowly stepped to the side and put his hand on the boys shoulder and slowly guided him forward. "This, Alex, is my Apprentice. His Mage name is Magni, short for Magnification. It has to deal with his Element, which is the Mirror Element. I'm going to be bringing him on this journey to make sure he get's ample experience as well as hopefully learn the secrets that I have learned." Double said kindly.

The small boy spoke up in a weak tone "Hi Mister Dragon. Thank you for letting me tag along."

I looked at him and at Double for a few minutes before letting out roaring laughter. "HA HA HA HA. Oh my. Isn't it good to be young. HA HA HA. Do not be afraid young man. I do not bite those who do not bite me. Especially one so young and pure as you."

Double released a slight grin as he gently rubbed the boys back. Magni's face was... very pale to say the least.
