One Who Is Choosen By Destiny

Where am I. There was nothing but an endless white space around me. What happened to me? I tried to think hard about what happened....

Oh no Lyle. I couldn't help but remember how he tried save me but even when he realised he couldn't he....

I was shocked. An indescribable feeling washed over me. I started to feel like it was my fault. If wasn't for me, he wouldn't have.... At that moment when he came near me for some reason I couldn't help but feel warm. Why? I should hate myself for feeling like that. What happened to him? Did he survive?...

Many questions filled my head. I need to find out. I need to figure out were I am and get out and then find him. Am I hallucinating right now? Am I in the hospital? Could this be what people in coma feel like?... Come on.. Wake up.

But nothing happened. Then a scary possibility flashed in my mind.

"Am I dead?" I thought.

"Yes you are" replied a voice from somewhere.

"Huh.?" I was surprised and turned around to find a glowing blue light. It had a sense of mysticality about it.

"Did you say just I ..."

"Yes, you died and now your soul is inside my domain." replied the light.

I was shocked and I refused to believe it. But for some reason I felt like I knew because my senses felt different. Sensing this different sensation I knew I was not in a normal state. I need to know more, especially...

"What about Lyle? Did he survive?"

"No, he also died. Now he will reincarnate and begin his next life on earth."

"What?... No."

He really died then. We didn't even get to spend more time together. Why? Why is this world so cruel?...

After sometime I realised I might also reincarnate like him. I will start fresh without any memories right? Yes.. This wasted life where I couldn't even spend more time with him.... I want to forget it. Since he is also going to reincarnate, I hope I can find him again in my next life.

"Are you god?" I asked because whatever I am taking to is definitely not ordinary.

"Oh, you are quite calm aren't you. No doubt, you are the perfect choice. Yes I am god. Do not ask me if this is what I look like. I have infinite forms to take. I took this form because your mind will find this one more acceptable."

"What do you mean the perfect choice? Am I not going to reincarnate like Lyle?"

"Yes but you are going to reincarnate in a foreign world just like earth with your past life memories intact. The only differences between earth and that world is the existence of magic and the absence of science. Also the existence of additional races like monsters, beast people, elf and many more. The world you are going to is called 'Seltra'."

"What? Why?"

"You see that world is a place where magic power became too concentrated. So the evolution of the species there was a bit different. This means that they are able to sense and control mana or magic. The more talented you are the more powerful you become. There are some people who can destroy a mountain with their fists or their magic spells. A rare few can go even beyond that. Because of the nature of many species to group together and oppress others when they grow too overconfident and prideful because of their powers, wars are quite frequent. This was similar in earth as well but in Seltra continuous wars can have the potential to harm the planet because of the extreme difference in power. For a few decades the power balance between the major forces in the planet have been equal. During this time many started to crave for peace and didn't want to fight another war again and so all the races decided for a peace treaty. But the ones who lost their family in the previous wars and the morons who still believed they are the strongest opposed it. But they knew with the power of all the races balanced out, victory was slim. The resources were limited. So they stayed quiet. But now things may change because the most powerful warrior of the human race is about to reach the end of his life span. If the other races finds out about this then even the God who rules Seltra won't be able to predict what may happen with all the factions and secret organisations hiding in the background waiting to strike. That's were you come in. You will become the next successor of humanity's strongest in Seltra."

"You want me to fight for humanity? No. I am not a hero. I don't want any responsibilities anymore. I am sick and tired of it. Choose someone else."

"Do you really believe that reincarnating with no memories in earth will give you happiness?"

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"With an uncertain future you could end up repeating your life again. Or you may live a miserable life. By chance if you are lucky and get a good life, can you swear that you won't become prideful and arrogant."

"I ....."

"In the past there was an event which occurred on earth, it was to make sure of the survival of the species and for maintaining peace. Years have passed since then, now when you look at earth although it looks peaceful and very harmonious on the outside do you really believe the inside is the same?"

"... No. Even if I didn't see it I know of what happens in the shadows."

"Then isn't it better for a future in a world where you can control your destiny with absolute power to protect yourself and those around you. And did I ever tell you to fight a war? Your presence in that world being known is enough to maintain the peace. You can fight if you wish to. You can live however you want. You can be free from other's control because they have no choice but to listen to you. The reason I chose you is because you have the right mindset. I will be granting you a few wishes to ensure your survival as well."

I kept thinking about it. His words made quite an impact on me. I realised I don't want to forget about Lyle and myself. My emotions and feelings, I don't want to become a blank slate. In this new world if I can have absolute power then I can protect myself and my loved ones.

"I decided, I will go to Seltra."

"Good choice. Now state your 5 wishes."

"Isn't this similar to isekai novels."

"It is. After all some of them were based on actual events. Seltra isn't the only different world out there. There are even parallel worlds that exists in different dimensions. Even stories like Dragon Ball, Marvel and many more, they are all exist."

"What? They are not just stories?"

"Do you know the concept of different earths existing in different dimensions. It is actually real. Each of them has a different sequence of events leading to a different history and future. Think of a urniverse that evolved in such a way that the different life forms evolved to naturally use ki. The history was also in such a way that the events in dragon ball took place. There are infinite copies of these with different timelines, variations and much more."

"No way...." I couldn't believe it.

"Now, state your wishes."

"Alright. First I want Lyle also to..." I couldn't finish.

"I am sorry but that is not possible as there are many restrictions. There is a reason for resetting a soul before reincarnation and normally they won't be allowed to be reincarnated in a different world. You are a rare exception as it was a request from the God of Seltra. But I can make it so that both his and your families and Lyle's next life will be alright and will also have a good future."

I was sad but I guess I should also move on.

"Alright I want both our families and Lyle's next life to be well."

"Granted, your second wish."

"I want immunity against things like slave magic if it exists, illusions, poisons, mental spells..."

"Hm.. I will give you the resistances that I am allowed to give.... Granted, your third wish."

"I wish for eternal youth."

"As long as you can still die from causes other than age and since you are not asking for immortality.... ok granted. Now your fourth wish."

"An ability to read minds."

"Ok, but be careful some of the individual's in that world will have resistance against it, so you need to get stronger to overcome it... Granted now your final wish."

"I want the power and ability to use all types of techniques, magic and powers that exist in Seltra."

"Hm... I am already giving you the potential to use many types of powers which I can offer that exists in Seltra. So how about a trump card in case of emergencies like .... (whisper) .... How does it sound?"

"Perfect, so am I going to get reincarnated now?"

"Not just yet. First you will have to travel to Seltra by space. Don't worry the spell I am using will take you to Seltra safely without facing any problems at all. Then you will be reincarnated."

"Ehh..?!"

"What? You are not going to a parallel world you know. Seltra exists in our own urniverse. Why should I use a teleportation spell when you can travel there safely which is much more energy efficient."

"But I thought.... Aren't you a God?"

This was quite different from my imagination.

"Do you think we Gods laze around all day doing nothing?! We have matters to deal with that requires extreme amounts of energy you know. Do you really think that earth can manage by itself? There are things happening in the background that requires our constant attention and immense energy. We also have to make sure humans don't know about these matters."

"Huh.. Exactly what type of world was I living on?"

"Well you don't need to worry. I will cast the spell so now you enter a sleep state and be transported to Seltra with protection and then when you arrive, Seltra's God will reincarnate you. And don't worry you will still be female. So then bye."

"Ok.. Bye".

A ray of light from God hit me and then I fell into slumber shortly after.

-- God's POV --

"I hope she can live a good life in Seltra. Now let me grant the wishes to her and Lyle's family."

Using my divine sense I found both their families and blessed them a bright future.

"Now let's see where Lyle got reincarnated...."

I searched for his soul but for some reason my divine sense can't sense his soul. What happened?

".... What? His soul is missing!?"

I quickly tried to find out what happened after his death.
