To whom does this honor belong? •I ran my finger around the circle of his tattoo one turn. "Do you feel?" ' I asked bitterly. "There's a big sign right here." If he spoke bravely, he would probably say stamp. Or damn. "You don't see it, but you feel it. It's right here. A rope that wraps you around you." Chapter 26

"And here I am."  He straightened his elbows on his knees and leaned back.  "You're right, I'm a monster."  he said, not taking his eyes off my face for a second.  "I didn't want it to be like this, but when I was born I didn't have a choice."

The anger in his voice was such that it cracked all the walls of the house.

"You think I'm a murderer," he said emotionlessly.  "I love fresh blood."  His poisonous lips twitched slightly.  "Just like a monster."  His gaze was burning my skin.

"But I'm sealed to you."  He stood up.  He slid his jacket over his sleeves, which was sitting at the head of the chair.  "I could never hurt you."

What did all this mean?  The idea of being connected with Cesur was terrifying.  We both bonded for different reasons.

The regret in Cesur's voice was strong enough to kill me with guilt.  It must have been hard for someone like her to be unintentionally attached to a girl like me.
