After some more pleasantries we waited for the giant door to open and finally we 3 went on our way.

"Elrica Town. Finally I arrived here after so much trouble. Heck yeah."

As I started walking I heard someone calling me from distance.

"Hey wait!"

As I turned around I noticed it was one of the knights who was guarding the giant door.

'Did he find out that I lied. No that can't be right.'

As I was getting more confused, he approached to me and gave me parchment of paper.

"You said you can't read or write, right. Take this, it's a recommendation letter. Give it to one of the staff that works in the town's central office. They will guide you to place where classes will be held, where you will be taught how to read and write."

"I see. Then can I ask you for the direction. I don't know where the town's central office is."

After exchanging some information I was ready to leave, only to find that I am stopped once again.

"Wait."

'Now what does he want.'

Taking out a bag, he gave it to me and said

"You paid extra for card fees. The fees was only 7 gold coin but you paid 17 golden coin."

"I see. Um thank you."

"You're welcome. Stay safe"

As he left I turned around with the town's central office as my new destination.

Yeah, I gave him all the money I had when they asked for fees to make the identity card. Think about it how weird and unnatural it would be, if someone doesn't know how to read and write but knows how to count.

That's why to make them believe I gave them all the coins.

"Huuuuuuuuuh"

As I opened the bad I noticed that there were only 8 gold coins. Wait I gave him 17 gold coins and the fees was 7 gold coins. I didn't knew that 17-7=8.

'Those bastards, they took away 2 gold coins away from me, as if it was nothing. He wore such a calm expression as if it was nothing, like he never extorted money from me at all.'

Well, great. At least on the bright side they returned some fraction of the money. I was thinking that they wouldn't even bother giving me my remaining money back.

After carefully placing the coins I looked around, and based on the directions that the knight gave me I decided to first go to the town's central office.

After following the instructions that the knight gave me I finally made it to the town's central office.

In front of me was a large building with various banners.

As I went inside I was greeted by a totally different world. Hustle and bustle of people working, people standing in line in the left.

People wearing brown and white uniform running here and there with piles of paper in their hand.

Then other people wearing different clothes sitting on the right and writing something on the parchment. Then women wearing brown and white uniform sitting at the extreme left and solving the problem of the people standing in the line.

After coming to this world I was greeted by those soldiers and prisoners. Truthfully after spending so many days in the wilderness as a true loner, I started to feel that this world has a serious population deficiency. But after coming inside the town's central office I was greeted by something that totally shattered my expectations.

As there was so much hustle and bustle and so many overlapping noises of people conversing that for a brief period of time I totally forgot what I actually came here for.
