Never Wrong

Bai Ruoxi was sitting on the leather chair, her posture was stiff and upright, yet it was still full of elegance. The sun blared through the glass walls around her, casting a beautiful shadow onto the desk and sparkling marble floor. In her right hand were papers of a project proposal, while the left one was busy typing on the keyboard.

A crease could be seen on Bai Ruoxi's forehead. Her irritation was vivid as the grip on the papers started to tighten, almost crumpling them. The speed of her hand on the keyboard was entering a godly level. The tension in the room was also abnormally chilly, one wouldn't even be sure whether she was typing or beating her laptop.

Minutes passed, and it wasn't until a loud thump was heard and Bai Ruoxi heaved a long sigh that the temperature in the room turned normal again. She slumped back onto the chair and closed her eyes, adjusting to the dull pain which was spreading through her whole body.

'Damn it, I thought that a CEO's job was no big deal. Even someone like Zhao Mingkun could do it for years. Why do I feel like dying after just a few hours?'

If she knew that being a CEO was this much of a hassle, Bai Ruoxi would have preferred to be a NEET!

Two hours ago, Bai Ruoxi had planned to start her day by reviewing the project proposal of a resort in H City that the company was planning. The proposal was completed and had been agreed upon, it also should have gone through the CEO's judgment. But who would have known that the two-legged dog bastard was so goddamn incompetent?

Big projects like this one would require a meeting with the CEO and executives beforehand. Bai Ruoxi didn't know if Bai Shizhen, as the Vice President, had participated in the meeting as well but this... She sighed.

"Trash!" She grabbed the document which she had previously tossed onto the desk and threw it into the trashcan (fortunately it's big and strong enough to withstand her wrath).

Bai Ruoxi pressed the intercom violently, almost making a hole into it. "Bring me the person who proposed the H City resort project."

"Yes, Miss."

The secretary was rather wary when she heard Bai Ruoxi's bone-chilling voice. But an order was an order. She quickly called for the man and escorted him into the CEO's office.

When she opened the door, it was as if the arctic wind had blown on her face. The room felt abnormally cold and it didn't seem like the AC was the problem. The secretary silently gulped her saliva and immediately left the room, leaving the man with Bai Ruoxi.

"What's your name?" Bai Ruoxi propped her chin and smiled sweetly.

If the man didn't know that he was in trouble, he would have taken time to admire Bai Ruoxi's beauty. But currently, he had no guts for that. "Duan Fen, CEO Bai..." He fidgeted around nervously.

Duan Fen dared not to look down on her. Although today was her first day working, words about her had spread through the company like wildfire. As of now, Bai Ruoxi had fired 9 people; 7 from the board members and 2 managers.

She had conducted several forced buyouts early in the morning. They even saw policemen dragging Mr. Zhao out of the company this morning. Now that he was directly facing her, he could feel it.

This woman... was truly horrifying!

Duan Fen had worked at the company for years and knew that Chairman Bai, as well as Vice President Bai, were both kind people. They were lenient enough to let small mistakes and personal matters slip by, but Bai Ruoxi had stated that she wouldn't. He couldn't fathom how those seemingly kind people could produce such an offspring! Was the problem coming from the maternal side?

"I assume that you know the reason you're called here."

Cold sweats developed on his forehead. "Yes, I know. It's... It's the falsified cost of the resort..."

Bai Ruoxi saw that he was willingly admitting his mistake. It suddenly struck her that Duan Fen wasn't the type of person who would scheme to embezzle the company's money.

She rubbed her chin suspiciously and asked, "Who instructed you to do this?"

When Duan Fen heard it, his body turned stiff. He glued his gaze onto the floor like it was the most interesting thing ever. It took him a few seconds before finally raising his head back and stared at Bai Ruoxi. "No one." He answered resolutely.

Hmm, yep, there's definitely a mastermind behind him.

"You're bad at lying, Duan Fen." Bai Ruoxi chuckled as though he had just cracked an amusing joke and the room seemed to get warmer. But it didn't last long. The temperature suddenly dropped a few degrees lower than before, causing the once cold room to turn frosty. "But I still hate liars the most."

"I... I'm not lying at all, CEO Bai. It was me!" Duan Fen admitted, "I purposely falsified the project's funds. I wanted the extra money for myself!"

"If only all criminals are honest like you." Bai Ruoxi raised her brow in amusement. "But they wouldn't have been criminals if they were honest from the start."

Anyone would have shifted the blame to someone else or at least tried to defend themselves. This was the first time Bai Ruoxi saw someone who would willingly admit their mistakes this easily. Even though she wasn't a hundred percent sure, she placed the bet onto her intuition.

She believed that Duan Fen was a cowardly man. He wouldn't have dared to do it if there wasn't somebody else instructing him. Moreover, he was aggressively defending the person. Duan Fen might have been threatened.

Bai Ruoxi sharpened her gaze and gave him a reassuring look. "Believe me, I will help your family." She spouted the bullshit.

Of course, she was fully depending on her instinct to be right. If she was wrong, it would cause her to lose face.

But come on, when had Bai Ruoxi ever been wrong?

It's the power of the main character, she's never wrong!
