After hearing what the system's answer to his questions, he made up his mind. Matthew walked to his closet, grabbed an empty backpack, and with a determined look on his face, he began his journey.

Matthew was scared, but at the same time anxious about what the future would bring. He could have the best life in this new world as a supreme ruler or he could become zombie food as he left this room, but Matthew wanted to know what happened to his parents. If he stayed in this room, besides not knowing what happened to his parents, one day he would starve to death.

Matthew immediately disengaged the [SWORD OF LIGHT] and held it in a rather awkward posture. Because he had never practiced with a sword before, he realized that it would be impossible for him to fight zombies like that, so he asked the system:

"System, how can I fight monsters if I don't even know how to use a sword?"

"All users when getting started are entitled to one hundred evolutionary credits, which you can spend in the [STORE] section."

"Evolutionary credits? What is that and how can I earn more?"

* Ding *

"Evolutionary credits is the currency of exchange used by higher beings to buy and sell items. You can get evolutionary credits by killing monsters, but it depends on the level of evolution to give you more loot and evolutionary credits."

"Looting? Do monsters drop items and coins like in an RPG game?"

* Ding *

"You could follow this human reasoning. Although it does make some differences, as the items and coins are not created from nothing, but thanks to the evolutionary material that remains in their bodies after evolution, thus generating items that appear to be random but in fact they are not."

The explanation was brief, but it still made him somewhat confused. Even so, he was able to partially understand some things that the system had said. He opened the [STORE] section, which consisted of several sections, from exp pills that were extremely expensive to say the least, as each pill would provide 100 exp but they cost ten thousand evolutionary credits, up to legendary grade skills that could be bought as long as one had sufficient evolutionary credit.

Spotting the one he was looking for, Matthew directly opened the [SKILLS] section and filtered his options for the mastery section of weapons, ranging from one mastery to a specialist who trained on that weapon for forty years.

After scanning the list of mastery skills, Matthew decided to buy two mastery skills that he considered would be extremely important to survive in this future world; [BASIC MASTERY WITH SWORDS] and [BASIC MASTERY WITH PISTOL]. Although he still did not have a pistol currently, he was sure that very soon he will have one and maybe it could be of great help for his survival in this new world.

After purchasing those skills, Matthew soon reopened the [STATUS] window to check his status -- though he knew he would not have major changes in it.
