Maria then looked in the direction Matthew was pointing and saw Thobias, Terry, Julie and Bethany. She laughed and said, "Good luck then."

Matthew nodded and walked over to the group as he unzipped his pack and took a bundle of instant noodles to eat. He then proceeded to walk to the kitchen and heat some water. While waiting for the water to warm up, he sat on a chair and he closed his eyes.

After a few minutes, he felt someone was touching his shoulder. He opened his eyes and looked passed his shoulder. Standing behind him and touching his shoulder was Bethany.

"Good morning, Beth. Are you ready for today?" He greeted the girl.

Bethany nodded, but it seemed like she had something in her mind. Matthew didn't need to wait too long for her to start speaking, though. "You know, you should spend more time with us. Isolating yourself will not do you any good."

Matthew put a complicated expression on his face as he said, "I'm not trying to isolate myself. I was just training. I need to get stronger if I want to get to my parents and besides, I need strength to protect you and me. "

"Okay, if that's your choice. Just get the sense that if you want to talk to someone, I'm here." She said as she stepped out of the kitchen.

Matthew closed his eyes again and after a few more minutes, he got up and picked up the boiling water. He poured it into the instant noodles package and began to eat. After eating, Matthew walked into the living room. He saw everyone had already woken up, so he went to speak with Tom.

"Good morning, Tom. Thank you for your hospitality. We will go to the house you recommended to us now. When your party starts cleaning up the horde, do not forget to call us, Bethany and I will go."

Tom said as he smiled, "Don't worry. It was a pleasure to have you here to talk to, although the way you came in was not very friendly."

Matthew then nodded and grabbed his backpack and a gallon when he called his group out. They all took their backpacks and the remaining gallons and then followed Matthew as they said goodbye to Tom and Maria.

When they arrived at the house Tom had recommended, they noticed that the door was opened. Without delaying any more time, they entered, put their backpacks and gauze in the house, and spread through the house. As everyone was minding their own business, Matthew walked over to Bethany and said:

"Let's go to the backyard to practice. When Tom and his group do not come and call us, we'll have a difficult day ahead and all the preparation and experience we get will give us a better chance of survival."

Bethany nodded as she felt what Matthew said was true. After getting her agreement, Matthew turned around and walked into the backyard. As soon as he got into the yard, he got into a fightingstance, pulled [SWORD OF LIGHT] out of the inventory, and waited for Bethany to take out her items and outfit.

When he saw that Bethany had taken the equipment, Matthew ran and cut with the sword to her head. Bethany was obviously not prepared and was caught by surprise and could not react in time.

With Matthew's sword a few inches from her head, Bethany felt indignant. Grumpily, she complained to Matthew, "You did not even warn me that you would start attacking. That's unfair!"

Matthew drew back his sword as he shook his head. "The monsters will not tell you that they're going to start the battle. You could have died if I were a monster."

Bethany realized that what Matthew was talking about was true. She put an embarrassed expression on her face as she said, "You're right. Let's go again."

Matthew nodded as he started to attack Bethany again. This time, even though she still caught by surprise, she managed to lift the shield and defend herself from the attack. However, althoughshe successfully managed to defend herself, her arm shifted from the impact. She then kicked the ground when she jumped back and pulled away from Matthew, then used the [MINOR CURE] skill and restored her arm to peak condition.

Matthew saw that she had gone away, so he immediately chased her. When he got closer to her, he punched the sword toward Bethany's chest. Sensing where he was aiming at, Bethany rolled to the side and cut with her short katana towards Matthew's legs. Matthew who was aware of the attack jumped and cut with the sword direction her head again. Again, she failed to dodge in time and used the shield to defend herself.

Taking advantage of the passive position that Bethany was in, Matthew continued to cut with the sword towards the shield. He noticed that Bethany was already in the breaking point and would not be able to defend the blows again. She took one last blow with all the force. Only when her arm shifted slightly and the shield stopped shielding, he stopped attacking. Instead, he grabbed her neck with his left hand as he said in dangerous and full of warning tone:

"You lost again. You need to train a little more, Beth. You're still very weak."
