Training

After the matters between Matthew's group and Tom had been settled, Matthew separated from the group and walked to a separate room. Justlike the night before, he sat down and started cultivating. 

As soon as he started cultivating, Matthew could feel again the refreshing and calming sensation of his heart being altered little by little, consequently improving blood flow and bringing about an improvement that humans should not have.

"This is just a common-grade cultivation technique. I wonder how a mystical-grade cultivation technique should be, will I ever be able to try it?" Matthew began to wonder as he cultivated in silence. 

As Matthew cultivated in the bedroom, isolated from everyone, his group and Tom's family were sitting on the living room sofa, talking and getting to know each other better. 

Thobias had a curious expression on his face as he asked Tom, "You are trying to open the exits of the city in hope that the government will be established here, right? What makes you think the government has not collapsed? " 

Tom started to grin when he scratched his head and replied, "Yes, my neighbors and I were cleaning up to facilitate government work in the future. As for your second question, it's very simple, isn't it? After all, we have the most powerful government in the world." 

"Moreover, if we ordinary people are alive and fighting, it's kind of hard to believe that the government would lose out faster than we do. Also, as for hope, if you have something that even the government could not solve and it collapsed, we will be going down soon after. " 

Bethany, who was sitting next to Thobias, pinched him and said, "Do not worry, Tom. This shit always talks stupid things, even though he's very smart." 

Maria then got up and said to Bethany and Julie, "Let's go to the kitchen, girls. We can gossip and make some snacks to eat. Let's leave those boring affairs to these idiot men." 

Julie, who was bored, put on a lively expression on her face when she heard this. Her eyes glittered as she rose from the sofa and dragged Bethany into the kitchen. 

Terry, ignoring the girls who was walking away, laughed and said, "I admire what you're doing. Putting yourself at risk to give hope to everyone, I wanted to have that ability, but unfortunately I'm not that brave." 

Tom has a look of mistrust on his face when he heard what Terry said. "You look extremely virile and you're the oldest in the group. How come you're not the leader or the one who is taking care of these brats?" 

Terry put on an embarrassed expression and said as he put his arm around Thobias' shoulder. "Actually, this is my new look. I was like Thobiashere, extremely fearful and I did not care about my appearance. " 

Pausing for a bit while, he looked in the direction of the kitchen and watched Julie for a moment and then spoke again, "Until three years ago I met Julie. It was passion at first sight. I've been changing my looks and behavior since I met her, trying to win her. I hope one day it will work out even though I'm already dropping my hopes. " 

Thobias laughed at Terry and said in a playful tone, "Are not you too old to cry and act like a little child? Keep trying and in one hour you'll get her."

Then Thobias murmured as he blushed, "Not that I have any experience with women, of course." 

The group then began to laugh and continued to talk. After a few minutes, the women came back with food and spent the night talking. 

Time passed and shortyly, it was almost dawn. Two hours before dawn, Matthew opened his eyes. Feeling refreshed after cultivating, he begantraining his sword skills again.

Although Matthew did not develop any skills with this training session, he knew that with enough persistence he would be able to level up his skills to unimaginable levels.

Matthew took out a cloth and poured some water on it as he wiped the wet cloth over his body to wipe the sweat from the training session. 

After that, he left the room and greeted Terry, Tom and Maria who were already awake, and sighed when he saw Thobias, Bethany and Julie still asleep. 

Maria walked up to Matthew and said, "Do not push yourself so hard. You're still young and you should enjoy life. While we were talking, you locked yourself in the bedroom. We tried to call you, but you seemed to be disconnected from the world."

Matthew nodded and said, "Thanks for the advice, but I need to train and get stronger if I want to see my parents. Plus, I have several kids to take care of."

Maria then looked in the direction Matthew was pointing and saw Thobias, Terry, Julie and Bethany. She laughed and said, "Good luck then."
