The Battle, The Sword, and The Mysterious Voice

<p>"There it is, up ahead."<br/>We all decided to start with the direction Yuna and I went and we spot the ogre far in the distance.<br/>"Alright, is everyone ready? Remember, this is a life or death situation."<br/>We all nod. I ready my sword and we began approaching the ogre slowly. The ogre spots us and starts charging at us.<br/>"Yuna! Koda!"<br/>Yuna and Koda began blasting fire and lightning at the ogre. It staggers a bit but quickly recovers and begins its charge again.<br/>"Do it again!"<br/>They blast the ogre with more magic and it continues to stagger and recover all the while getting closer to us. <br/>"Alright Raiga, when it's close, I'll send you into the air and you'll finish it. Got it?"<br/>"Yeah and be sure to catch me with your magic."<br/>The ogre continues charging through blasts of fire and lightning coming at it and eventually reaches us.<br/>"Now!"<br/>"OH SHIT!!!!"<br/>Horita casts his wind magic, taking me right off my feet and throwing me into the air.<br/>(Alright focus! The red shard is right there. Strike it!)<br/>"HAAAAAAA!!!!"<br/>I feel my sword collide with the red shard as I fall back down and it shatters into pieces.<br/>"Haha! I hit it! Huh- GNNGH!"<br/>"RAIGA!!!"<br/>"R-RAIGA!!!"<br/>"BIG BRO!!!"<br/>Despite destroying the red shard, the ogre remained active and swung its weapon. I was sent flying and crashed right into one of buildings on the sides.<br/>(It hurts…! So…. bad!)<br/>My whole body seared in pain as blood trickled down my head.<br/>(I… think my everything… is broken…)<br/>My vision gets increasingly more blurry as I watch the other three fight off the ogre.<br/>(Why…? I destroyed the shard… So… why…?)<br/>My vision faded slowly and eventually, all I saw was black.<br/><br/>…<br/><br/>…<br/><br/>…<br/><br/>"Damn it. This wasn't supposed to happen."<br/>(This… voice again?)<br/>"Is this really the extent of the human who's supposed to be my vessel?"<br/>(V-Vessel? What the hell..?)<br/>"I really should not do this as you are currently too weak to handle it but I don't think I have a choice."<br/>(What are you-)<br/>"AH!"<br/>My eyes shot open.<br/>(What the hell was that? And the pain… it's gone?)<br/>In the distance, Koda, Yuna, and Horita are trying their best to hold back the ogre with their magic.<br/>"I can't go on much longer!"<br/>"This thing won't go down! Keep attacking!"<br/>(I gotta get over there!)<br/>"Hey! Hey! Wait! What are you doing?!"<br/>As I stood up, a voice rang through my head.<br/>"Hey! You're that voice I'm hearing! Who are you?!"<br/>"That doesn't matter right now! Anyways, I hope you weren't planning to just run over there!"<br/>"Of course, they need my help!"<br/>"What can you do?! You don't have a weapon!"<br/>(He's right. My sword got destroyed when I striked the ogre.)<br/>The voice goes silent for a moment.<br/>"I think there's something you can do at your current level."<br/>"What?? What is it??"<br/>"You can use my sword at the lowest level. It's going to be weak, but it should take out the ogre." <br/>"Sword? Ok but how am supposed to get it?"<br/>"Call out the sword, Zenion."<br/>"What the hell is a Zenion? Whatever, I'll try. Alright…. Zenion?"<br/>"Come on! Put some effort into it!"<br/>"Seriously…? Whatever."<br/>Doing my best Sentai impression, I shout out the name of the sword.<br/>"Zenion!"<br/>Suddenly a dark blade with purple sparks materializes in front of me.<br/>"What the…"<br/>I grab the sword and feel a sudden shockwave throughout my body.<br/>"Woah!"<br/>"There, it has linked with you. Now go finish that ogre!"<br/>"Don't gotta tell me twice!"<br/>New sword in hand, I dash towards the ogre at an unnatural speed. Using the momentum of my speed, I slash the ogre as I dash past it and manage to stop myself from moving farther away from it.<br/>"Haha! That was awesome!"<br/>"Raiga?! How are you…"<br/>I dash at the ogre again but it's ready for me this time and swings it's weapon.<br/>(Was it always this slow?)<br/>I dodge the ogres attack and press it. Each strike staggers it greatly.<br/>"URAGHHHHHH"<br/>"Heh. Feeling it now, aren'tcha?"<br/>The red crystal shard on the ogres chest suddenly regenerates.<br/>"So it can regenerate it, huh? Doesn't matter one bit because I'm going to destroy it again!"<br/>I jump up and due to my enhanced body from resonating with Zenion, I fly up with great height. <br/>(Ok. Second time doing this. I can get used to it. I can get used it. Oh God…. my stomach.)<br/>I lock my eyes on the shard while the ogre swings it's weapon upward.<br/>"Woah!"<br/>It narrowly misses.<br/>"Well, there goes your last shot! Now pay up!"<br/>Once again, my blade connects with the shard on its chest and it break's completely. The ogre finally goes down with a hard thud.<br/>"That was…. quite a workout."<br/>Zenion disintegrates and leaves my hands.<br/>"Nice job. Although that was only a fraction of the power you should be able to use, not a bad start I say."<br/>"Who even are you?"<br/>"I'm getting sleepy… I'll tell you later. See ya."<br/>"Huh? Hey! Wait!"<br/>The voice stops responding.<br/>"Raiga!"<br/>The others run towards me.<br/>"You guys alright?"<br/>"I should be asking you that. I watched you get dropped by that ogre and a minute later, you're up and fine with some sick-ass sword and you handle that ogre like it's a cake walk. What was that??"<br/>"Yeah that was awesome, big bro! It's like you're the main character of an anime!"<br/>(Big bro..?)<br/>"Haha, I don't know. Some voice. I call out a sword and suddenly, I'm like that."<br/>"I see… We'll delve into that a bit later. Anyways, I'm glad this ended with everyone being alive. Now we have another ogre to deal with but I'm confident we can get past them with Raiga's new power. Let's take a break."<br/>Horita walks off and drops down near a building, clearly worn out and exhausted. Yuna and Koda do the same.<br/>(Strange, I don't feel exhausted. Rather I feel pretty good! Is this the effect of the sword?)<br/><br/>…<br/><br/>(How even DID I get that sword in the first place? Obviously whoever's voice I'm hearing had something to do with it but still. Ugh, I shouldn't rack my brain any further, I'll ask the voice when they wake up or whatever.)<br/>I look up to see Yuna approaching me. She takes a seat next to me on the floor.<br/>"Hey, are you sure you're okay?"<br/>"Yeah, I feel pretty fine. No broken bones or anything, surprisingly enough."<br/>"That's good… I was really worried."<br/>We sit in silence for a bit before she decided to speak up again.<br/>"I realized that I told you a lot about myself but I don't know much about you so can I ask you some questions?"<br/>"Sure, go ahead."<br/>"Do you um.. have any family back home as well?"<br/>"No, I don't. They've been gone for a while."<br/>"Oh, I'm sorry…"<br/>"Don't be. It's been a long time anyways."<br/>(It's also been a long time since anyone asked about me. Well, not like anyone would be interested in the schools most despicable perv's life at home.)<br/> "Do you have any other relatives?"<br/>"Well, I did live with my grandpa but he passed about 2 years ago. So I guess I don't now."<br/>"That must've been rough, being left all alone."<br/>"Nah, not really. Gramps left me the house and enough money that'll last me until I graduate. Although that meant living off of instant noodles most days to save."<br/>"I see… Hey, do you think everyone else is going through the same thing as us?"<br/>"I would assume so. It'd be weird if us 4 were the only ones to end up in some ghost town in the middle of nowhere with ogres and superpowers."<br/>"Yeah that would be. I'm worried that sis won't make it. She's still very weak."<br/>"Well, once we get out of here, we'll hopefully be able to figure out what happened to everyone else."<br/>"Yeah…"<br/>A moment of silence passes again.<br/>"Yuna?"<br/>"Yes?"<br/>"I forgive you."<br/>"H-Huh?! Really??"<br/>"Yeah… after you told me what you went through, I felt really bad about holding a grudge against you. A part of me was still petty about it but that was just me being selfish. Besides, what you had went through was much worse than me simply getting scornful looks from people. So yeah. H-Hey! Why are you crying?!"<br/>"Its just… I was so concerned on how I was going to apologize to you since I was sure you hated me and didn't even want to see my face…"<br/>"Well, you don't have to worry about that now. It's all in past anyway."<br/>After a few seconds, she seems to settle down.<br/>"Thank you… for forgiving me."<br/>"Yeah, not a problem, I hope we can be friends from here on out."<br/>"Yeah!"</p>
