Sudden Calamity

~2 hours later at lunch~

"So what you mean to tell me is, you swooped in like some Prince Charming and saved the darling Princess from being captured and sold off. So now, those guys might come after you for revenge?"

"That's overdramatic, but yeah."

"And what exactly do you want me to do about this?"

"You have like some bodyguards or something right? Maybe they can take these people out or something?"

"Yeah, don't think I can just ask them to do that seeing as I have no idea who they are either."

"Come on Ren, can't you help me out at least a bit? I can't call the cops because I have nothing to show that they will come after me. They might follow me home and mess up my place! I'm poor as hell! You know I can't afford new furniture so please man, I'm beggin ya!"

"Fine, if they do come, just call me and I'll see what I can do."

"Thank you Ren!"

"Anyways, what happened to the girl?"

"I don't know. Once I got into the school, I haven't seen her since and I'd rather keep it that way if I'm being honest."

"Why's that?"

"Because it was the same girl tha-"

The ground suddenly rumbled extremely.

"An earthquake! Get down!"

Me and Ren hid underneath the tables and watched as pieces of the ceiling came crashing down around the cafeteria. The ground stopped rumbling but everything else was falling apart.

"We have to get out of here, the schools collapsing!"

"Can we even get out like this?!"

"We're going to have to make a run for it! Otherwise, we'll be crushed!"

"Alright on three!"

"One"

"Two"

"Three!!"

Ren and I quickly got up from under the table and made a beeline to the emergency exit. Parts of the ceiling came crashing down behind us as we ran.

"The doors right there! Let's go!"

We ran and busted the door open.

"We made it out. Thank God."

"Raiga..."

"The whole school collapsed. What happened?"

"Raiga!"

"What?"

"Look up!"

"Holy Mother of…"

The sky was red. Devoid of any color that made up the planet before. The entire school was completely in shambles and every other building around it was in the same state.

"What is this…?"

"I can't check the news or anything online. The cell towers might've collapsed during the quake. I'm going to go look around to see if I can find atleast something on the situation."

"Yeah…"

Ren ran off in another direction.

(I should do the same too.)

I walked around, past panicking students and teachers, listening in on conversations.

"T-The world is ending…!"

"My friend is still in there!!"

"Have we angered the g-gods..?"

-10 minutes later-

"Ren, did you find anything out?"

"No, everyone was panicking, I couldn't talk to anyone."

"What do we even do from her-"

"ARGHHHHHH!!!"

A loud ring filled my ears and a white light covered my vision. It continued until I eventually lost consciousness.

"Hey, can you hear me?"

(Who are you..?)

"You'll find out soon enough but right now, I am going to need you to wake up. You need to be awake for my powers to be active."

(What..? What are you-)

"..up.."

"…ke up.."

"Wake up!"

"Huh?!"

I shot up awake.

"Where am I?"

I looked around for a bit and spotted 3 other people staring at me.

"We all woke up here for some reason after that giant flash. I have no clue where this is."

I got up, head still aching from that loud noise and giant flash.

"Hey, you alright?"

The person talking seemed to be an older man, probably in his 30s.

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine, I guess it wasn't only me who got deafened and blinded by literally nothing."

(And what was that voice I heard?)

I looked at the other two. A boy who looked like he was in junior high school, and the other was a girl. The same blonde girl from this morning.

"Now that all of us are up, we should get out of here and find our way back. You, with the brown hair, go with the girl. Kid, you're with me. You two go down that way, the opposite direction. If you find anything just shout."

I nodded and we each separated. I took out my phone and opened the flash light.

"Alright let's go."

We quietly walked down the dark building.

(How did this building survive that earthquake…? There's no way it could've when it completely took out the entire school building and everything else. What is going on? A red sky, a giant earthquake and a flash, now I suddenly wake up here? This is like something out of a manga.)

During the silence, I tried calling every number on my contact list (Ren and Emergency Services) but to no avail.

"Wait.. I think I see something over there."

I walked towards what looked like a door.

"Hey! I found a door over here I think!"

"Coming!"

~A few moments later~

"How do we open it?"

"I think there's a handle or something, it looks like a sliding door."

"Yeah, you're right, there's one right here, I'll open it."

I grabbed the handle and slid the door open.

"Looks like it led right outside."

We all exited the dark building. The door led to the outside, which looked like a town with each other building looking just as abandoned as the one we came out of.

"Wait, look over there."

The man pointed over to a glowing blue orb thing in the middle of the road.

"What is that?"

"Well, only one way to know."

We each closed in on it, not wanting to get too close just in case it's something dangerous.

"At this point, so many surreal things has happened, it wouldn't be shocking if super natural powers exist now. Anyways, should we like… touch it?"

"I mean, I don't see any alternative. Pretty sure a glowing blue orb wouldn't burn us to death or something, I think."

"So you want to touch it?"

"No thanks."

"Really? But aren't you pretty sure a glowing blue orb wouldn't burn us to death."

"Yeah, doesn't mean I wanna touch it."

"Wow, so much for being an adult, how about you guys?"

"…"

"Ugh fine, I'll touch it. But if I burn to death, I'm haunting all of you."

I walked up to the orb and slowly inched my hand towards it.

(Please don't kill me. Please don't kill me. Please don't kill me…!)

"Woah, this feels kinda weir- Gah!"

The orb suddenly bursted into small particles.
