A Not So Touching Reunion

"Shut up!"

I pound the alarm hard and it stops beeping.

(I hate having to wake up during a nice sleep. Might as well get ready for school.)

I begrudgingly walked into the bathroom to take a shower, brush my teeth, and put on my school uniform.

(Now, time for something to eat.)

I walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge.

(Wow, there's nothing in the fridge. Must've ate it all. I guess I'll go shopping after school. For now, I'll just wait until lunch. At least it's free.)

Grabbing my bag, I made my journey to the hell pit called school.

~15 minutes later~

(Still 5 minutes away from the school. God, if only I lived closer.)

As I mentally complained, I suddenly saw 3 men push a girl into an alleyway.

(What the..)

Following them, I watched them from behind a wall. Getting a closer look, I saw 3 men surrounding a smaller figure.

"Come on little lady, just give us our money and you'll be off, free as a bird."

"I-I don't have any money. P-Please, l-let me go. I-I have school..."

"You don't have any money? Well that's too bad. We gave you 3 years and a buncha interest has piled up. So you're going to pay us back, one way or another. And guess what? Turns out, we have a position for you in a brothel and a pretty face like you can make some big coin. Maybe enough to pay back that 150 million yen."

(Loan sharks. Bad news, should I stay out of this? I can't even see the girl since they are caving around her. Maybe if I get a closer look.)

I moved a bit so I could get a better angle.

(Wait a second... She looks awfully familiar. Is that... No it is. The girl that ruined my social life. No mistaking it. What should I do? Should I just leave her? I mean, not like this has anything to do with me anyways.)

…

(Fine.)

While I contemplated on what to do, an idea came to me. I quickly took out my phone, turned on the camera, zoomed in and snapped a photo of the three men holding down the girl.

(Perfect.)

Praising myself for my wonderful idea, I didn't notice that a quarter of my body was sticking out. I quickly hid it and looked back only to see the girl staring my direction.

(No no no, stop looking over here you dumbass! You're gonna get me caught!)

The others turned around to look in her direction and also spotted me.

(Oh fu-)

One of the loan sharks pointed at me and nodded towards another before one of them walked towards me.

"Listen buddy, since you saw something you weren't supposed to, we have to make sure you don't run your mouth anywhere. So, I'll beat ya so you don't remember anything that happened today!"

(Looks like I can't get outta this without dirtying my fists. Oh well.)

He chuckled, cracked his knuckles, and threw a punch directly towards my face. I ducked and swept his leg, making him fall on his behind before kicking him on the side of his face, immediately knocking him out.

"So the little bastard can defend himself a little huh?"

The man holding the girl shoved her to the ground and both men made their way towards me.

"Should've just took the easy way out buddy!"

The two charged me and attacked from both sides. I backhanded and elbowed the gut of one of them. The other went for a punch but I grabbed his arm, maneuvered around him to his back, and twisted his arm, pushing him into the other guy. They caught themselves and got even angrier.

"Alright, let's kill this fucker!"

Once again, they both charged at me.

~30 seconds later~

The men were all knocked out. One of them managed to land a punch right on my nose, so it is now bleeding.

(Well, this is not going to look good for me in the future. They'll probably remember my face and will try to get some other people to jump me. Ughh, what a drag. If that really does happen, then I'm screwed. Anyways, I'll guess I'll finish what I was originally going to do.)

I took out my phone and called the police, they arrived and I showed them the picture of the men harassing the girl and they were taken away after they checked up on the girl.

(Well now that that's over, I should get to class. I'm pretty sure I'm like 20 minutes late. Not like it matters really. I guess I'll get going now.)

I started to walk away but stopped when I felt eyes on me. I turned back to see the girl.

"What is it?"

"N-Nothing."

I turned around and continued my walk.

..

..

..

"Why are you following me?!"

"I-I-I-I t-t-the s-s-school i-is t-this w-way…"

I mentally faced palmed and continued my walk.

~15 seconds later~

I peek over my back and notice she's closer than before.

(Can she just not walk directly behind me like this? Any closer and I'd be able to feel her breath on the back of my neck. It's creepy.)

I came to a sudden stop to test something. I peeked over my shoulder again and she stopped too.

"Then why did you stop when I stopped walking?!"

"…"

"Forget this."

Completely ignoring her, I finally made it to school.
