10 chapter 10- Daniel's helpers

Daniel called his secretary to come and visit him through the intercom on his table.

Daniel was thinking about how to greet his subordinates, whether to be strict with them or playful with them to have a good impression on them. Soon a knock was heard at the door.

He replied from the inside, " Come in". And the door opened revealing a slim, pretty woman with blue eyes and glasses. Her strawberry blonde hair was about shoulder length. But She kept it tied up in a bun as a secretary.

She has small studded earrings and usually wears outfits that reveal her legs and cleavage. As a secretary, she wore a yellow long-sleeved jacket and high-heel boots, but as a special secret agent, she wore a long-sleeved short black dress over a fishnet shirt and stockings along with black gloves and high-heels.

" you called for me sir?" She asked Daniel.

Daniel was surprised to see her beautiful alluring appearance and thought that they put so much attention to the details of a program, they created just to test him but her soft voice woke him up from his thoughts.

Daniel noticed she has a hint of red on her face probably she was blushing from his staring.

" yes Claire, I needed to know what my schedule for today is. And if it is possible to have a chat with the head of intelligence of the City. I need to have so e urgent discussions with him.

Also, I need to see if the weapons reserve, as well as the fighting mechs, are in working conditions if they are ever needed. And what is the condition of the medicines and artillery in the storage shed? I want a complete report as soon as possible." He ordered her.

" But sir it will take a long time. If you are in a hurry I can contact some officers to help me in getting the entire data of all our arsenals in the city, " she replied back.

" No, It should be done by the ones whom I completely trust. If necessary you can call Sebastian and Capricorn for help. " he then let her leave to complete the task.

The old man hasn't completely abandoned him. He left some help for him to complete his task.

He has a total of six associates who are his most loyal followers and friends.

They were Claire, Sebastian, Capricorn, Julian, Martha, and Claude.

Claire was his personal secretary and also his personal bodyguard and also stayed by his side. She wasn't the strongest of the six but her analytical skills along with her negotiation and diplomatic skills being top class.

This talent of hers made sure that the governing body doesn't make the guards go hungry and become an animal without fangs and claws.

Although it wasn't enough for them to be at their best, it made them powerful enough that their words could be heard though it was only applicable to lesser officials and the higher-ups just ignore them.

Next was Sebastian. He has big black eyes with 3 eyelashes on top of his eye and a long nose. He has long curly hair and always wore a black hat.

He was the head of the intelligence. And one can say he was the most miserable of them all. The government in order to cut funds for the military completely defanged the intelligence agency and made them squat flies all the time.

But, he has a vengeful nature. He managed to save some of his men from losing their job and have them posted in other places. They are his source of information and dirty intelligence.

Knowing his behavior from the artificial memory he had about his peers made him hopeful that Sebastian has some dirt on the politicians through which he can get his work done and start preparing for the defense.

The third was Capricorn. His name is based on the zodiac Capricorn. His family believed in the study of stars and felt that by naming him this after had been born at this time would make him determined, faithful, sincere and ambitious in the future

And all these characters would be helpful for him in the future. He has brownish eyes with blonde hair and a crooked nose. He wasn't overly handsome but his natural charisma made him the center of the crowd.

He was currently a minister of internal affairs. With his secret help, the guards have managed to survive until the present day.

The other three are his followers in the guards and act as his assistant in taking care of the discipline of the corps. Although it has many wastes in itself, the presence of these three managed to train some people in fighting, how to command troops, tactics and various command symbols and sound to adjust the plan according to situations and orders from higher-ups.

Each of them is a commander of a different wing of the army.

The heavyweight muscular warrior, Julian is the commander of the frontal assault team. He isn't much of a strategist but his battle senses and his power is something to be cautious about.

They use swords, spears, and other handheld weapons or just their first to combat the situation. They are the tank of the corps and their main function is to weaken the initial attack and act as a shock absorber for the whole corp.

They are also the one with most casualty along with most members in the corps.

The second commander of his is the long ranged weapon expert, Martha. She is a brunette with a heart shape face and Rosy Lips. She has beautiful blue-green eyes which were hypnotic.

She is the commander of the archer, shooters, and sniper of the corps. They are tasked with killing the enemy at least effort while providing backup to the frontal assault team. This way the casualty could be within a manageable range.

Next is Claude. He is a bespectacled mech driver. His team comprised of artillery units, cannon unit along with mech drivers and their individual engineers and repairmen.

They are the ones who are only sent out when the target is to be completely annihilated or the enemy is too strong and the land troops can't break through so the heavy gun power of the mech, cannon, and artillery was used.

This is also the most costly of the two previous groups exceeding the sum total of the cost of upkeep of the frontal assault and the long-range group.

These six are the ones whose support and help could make him complete the task.

Meanwhile in the principal office,

" didn't you set him up to life so why did you provide him with the six helpers who has his complete trust?" Lance asked as it would reduce the difficulty of the task and Daniel may pass the test.

" The more I sent to him said that the commander trusted the six but I never said that all six of them are completely loyal to him.

The hidden traitor in this group will make his task difficult and may even lead to his failure. The moment he shows a sign of weakness he would be walking towards his doom.

The six are a set of elaborate trap I created to trick him and let him learn a lesson."

" what do you want him to earn through the traitor you introduced in the test?"

" I want him to learn that blind trust isn't enough. Sometimes evidence should also be taken into account and never completely trust somebody especially in times of war."
