The Gift

Vergil POV

After cleaning my self I made my way towards the study

Knock knock

"Come in"

I went inside and father as always was busy doing his work

"You called father" I inquired the purpose for calling me

"Yes, I have arranged all the paper requirement for your admission, all that's left are a few minor documentation that you will complete on the day of examination" He said as he put down the pen he was writing, it was the one that I gave before

"Got it, May has already began to prepare for our departure" I said 

"Yes you will be gone for a long time" he said his voice was normal but I could feel a little reluctance in his voice

"I will often comeback father don't worry" I said with a smile

"Spend more time with your mother for rest of the days, she is feeling really reluctant to part with you" he said

Thinking of mother I also produced a desire to not leave, but I knew only by getting stronger I will be able to protect these cherished relationship

"Yes I will" I said seriously

"Ohh …. Yes your reward from imperial family has also arrived" Father said as he changed the topic

He handed me two cards one was a full black card with the imperial insignia and the other was my own card 

"The first one is monetary reward they really rewarded you handsomely" he said giving me the cards

"And this one" I held out the other card, monetary benefits were good but not good enough so I was not to excited 

"Yes this card is a pass to enter the special portion of the Academy library, I knew you were not interested in monetary benefits, so I requested this. You have been given access to some important parts of library in the Academy while you remain a student at the academy after you pass out this card will expire" He said as he explained the use of this card

My eyes widened and breath a little short

"Is this real" I asked as I looked disbelief at the card

"Yes" Father said as he was satisfied with my reaction

"Thank you father I really needed this" I said excitedly but still trying to hold my composure which was very difficult

I genuinely felt very happy, this is perfect, I can learn a lot of information for mana and aura, and most importantly Alchemy I was wondering where to look for next book but now the chance presented itself

"I knew you would like this, by the way what about the gift given by the royal highness" He inquired

"About that, I am not sure what to do" I said as I snapped out of my excitement of having the permit

Honestly, the gift given to me by Eldest Prince was extremely valuable to say the least, when opened the gift I was gobsmacked it was 

Yggdrasil seed

Yes the seed of the world tree that the elves worship, my hands were literally shaking not out of excitement, but out of fear. While this gift seemed priceless it was also a big hassle, if anyone knew about this it could potentially get me into another big mess that I could not handle

"I feel like I was scammed" I muttered, Yeah another thing added to my arsenal of 'potential fatality bringing items'

When I told father he was also shocked, it was a good thing I did not open in front of everyone back then, or else it would have leaked

"Haa.. well nothing we can do about it, although I don't know much about this but the library at academy would probably have something" He said also feeling a headache about this

"I am also thinking about the same thing, until then I have placed it inside my space pocket were its relatively safe" I said

"Try not to get yourself in another mess there" he said as he joked

"It's not like I want to" I rolled my eyes at father's comment 

After a little more discussion, I left the study and went to my daily routine. Before I knew it was the end of the day and I was ready to go to sleep. I looked at the ceiling unable to sleep as my thought turning rapidly

Honestly looking back at it it has been nearly five months since I awakened my memories, it's been an adventure really. I uncovered my special Talent, I fought an assassin, rescued a princess, it really seemed exciting yet cumbersome

All these really fueled my desire to get strong even more, while on my way I also found some reliable friends and deepened my familial bonds 

With all this there were also many things I needed to be careful with. I need to hide my swordsmanship and space talent, I also want to hide the seed as well as the nine colored begonia

Yes the begonia has finally matured into the priceless Nine colored begonia , yay another thing to hide 

With so many important things, Although I don't know why but I can feel that will find myself in even more troubles 

Since I cannot avoid it I just have to face it head on, So i need to improve my strength. The wall to becoming a High level magic swordsman I need to overcome. Becoming a high level is the threshold for becoming the truly respected one.

While keeping my strength a secret I also need to form reliable bonds in order to protect myself in case my secret does get revealed 

One more thing I need more practical experience in facing both monsters and humans, Although I spar with May and occasionally with sir Gareth, it's not enough I need to diversify my combat experience 

'May be I will join some hunting guild, or try making my own' I mused to myself

While thinking about these things unknowingly my eyes closed and I slowly entered the peaceful darkness. 

Unbeknownst to me when I slept May entered the room as she slowly covered me with blanket closed the curtains and turned of the lamp

"Sweet dreams young master" she said softly, she was so skillful it would seem she does this regularly 

Before I knew it the week had already passed and Eliza will soon be arriving after that we would be departing for the Academy 

This whole week I spent more and more time with my mother. I also went out with her to a small gathering of her friends, details of which are better left untold, I get goosebumps whenever I think about those memories. Also mother's repeated warnings of what and what not to do, to regularly contact her send letters, she also gave me a special locket with both mine and mother along with fathers picture

All in all I had prepared myself to depart for another adventure, where more challenges and mysteries await me

Volume 1 will end here, a new volume will start from here on out, Also the author requires Two days off. Author's is still studying and he needs a break to write a more exciting next adventure
