Chapter 6: Infiltration plan

It's been two days so far. I'm still crushed. He had been so close to me and the things my head were saying to me were saying to me were not helping.

Hell is the only word I can use to describe my life currently. Hell on earth and I am a lost soul being tormented by the horrors of this world. Mason was so close to me, I can't believe I lost him.

I've realized that I've been turning into him. Not speaking to much, giving everyone some depressing feeling. But I can't just cry and sit around if I'm going to be the one in charge.

I've been thinking of the fight for a while and my mind always drifts off to something whether it's good or bad or sometimes just... random.

Like yesterday when I was thinking of it, I remembered times from before the bombs. Good times we had together. Going to amusement parks, riding bikes, playing video games. All kinds of stuff.

But today was weird. When I was thinking I saw the dead thugs. The hole filled bodies lying in puddles of blood. Then I had an idea.

They all had a sort of scrappy, poorly put together set of armor and if they had that many people, then there had to be some base of operations. I leaped up from the ground and ran to Josh and Raymir.

"I have a plan. A plan to avenge Mason." Josh and Raymir looked at me, tilting their heads. They were obviously intrigued.

"Well don't just sit there, tell us about it!" Yelled Josh. I cleared my throat, knowing this would take a while to explain.

"Well, you know how all the thugs had the same kind of armor?" Josh nodded "Well that must have been some sort of outfit for them. And if there were that many, then they must have some sort of base." Raymir tilted his head at me. "What do you want to do? You're not exactly telling us." I sighed. "I'm saying we dress as the thugs and sneak into they're base."

"Oh, ok but don't you think they'll realize they don't recognize us?" Raymir had a good point but they sent at least thirty people, they wouldn't have every face recognized.

"Raymir, they sent a lot of people, they couldn't have every face recognized." Raymir nodded, agreeing with me but Josh had a concerned look on his face.

"How are we going to find the base? We can't just walk around the entire city of Philly!" Again, a good point from Josh.

"You remember Dustin and Laurel, right?" Josh nodded. "Well, they may have been heading somewhere, if we follow their path we could end up at some sort of settlement. And if there's a settlement, there's someone harassing them."

Raymir stepped forward. "I'm up. if it means killing the bastard that had my friend killed, I'm always ready." We looked at Josh who was looking down, shaking his head.

"I'm not going." Josh stood up from a small seat and looked out of the exit. "Why? Do you not want to help people?" I followed him to the exit and stood next to him.

He looked down at me with rage in his eyes. "We don't know what happened to them! They could be dead for all we know!" He was aggravated by my statement. Of course he wanted to help people, but he also wanted to help himself. "And go ahead, leave without me. I'm not going to follow you."

I looked up at him and growl, clenching my fists. I turned around and walked away. It was happening tonight, whether he's coming or not.
