Liqiu scrambled to her feet at the scream and turned around eyes wide. She could hear the hurried footsteps on the other side of the door.
It did not look good, she shared a look with Liqiu before sliding the door open and stepping into the hallway.
She immediately bent her head low as the Duke and Duchess walked past her with an elderly man dressed like a physician.
She stood there head bowed as old madam Nie and Nie Zihan came after the duke. Young master Shaoqing was nowhere in sight which seemed odd.
She stood straight once their back was facing her. Man in the press followed them with her gaze to the room at the fat end of the hallway.
Her heart raced but quickly calmed as their young master finally appeared with three physicians in tow.
They all rushed into the room, there was a heavy silence among the servants standing in the hallway.
