The next morning, at the inn.
Liqiu Squinted her eyes as the bright morning sun rushed in through the window. She moaned and shut her eyes, she counted to ten before slowly raising her eyelids.
Liqiu gasped and pulled back as Nie Shaoqing's slightly studded face came into view. Her eyes flew to the nightstand as the cup fell over, successfully drawing Nie Shaoqing out of sleep land.
"Liqiu," he blinked and sat straight. He leaned closer and held the back of his palm to her forehead.
He let out a deep breath and smiled. He was glad that she was no longer running a temperature. Liqiu face heated up, she quietly pulled the blanket up to her chin and looked around the room. She massaged her temple as flashes of the memories of last night flashed through her mind.
She had never expected him to keep guard of her all through the night. His forehead creased at his bloodshot eyes and pale complexion.
