I looked up and Midas had the same twisted grin on his face as I did.
"Impressive." He drawled.
With both my hands preoccupied, I had left myself wide open and Midas took this opportunity to kick me in the stomach and send me flying backwards; however, instead of hitting a tree or rock wall, I was caught by someone.
"Looks like we've caught you." Adephagia's voice came from behind me, "Let's go."
With that, she began running from the rest of the commotion into the trees.
"Let me go, you bitch!" I screeched, attempting to free myself from her grasp.
"Nyx!" Asmodeus yelled as he turned around to the sound of my voice, but this left him open to attack, to which Ares took advantage of. He kicked Asmodeus and sent him flying.
"No!" I screamed, "Let me go!" I kept trying to fight her, but Adephagia held on tightly and the battle scene began to be blocked by trees as she fled. As she ran, I managed to swing my leg and trip her; however, that ended up with me hitting the ground first and her falling on top of me
She was now kneeling overtop of me, "Oh you naughty girl, you can't wait until we're somewhere a little more private?" She whispered as she lowered her face closer to mine.
"What the hell are you in about?" I spat, attempting to push her off of me.
"Oh I think you know." She giggled.
"Adephagia, that's enough." Hubris said as she appeared from the trees. The other three appeared not long after her. Adephagia pouted but got off of me and stood up.
"Hm, that's disappointing. You haven't completely unlocked your abilities yet. You look normal again. That's no use." Midas whined. To my surprise, he acted and looked as if I had never impaled him at all.
"I could still use her." Adephagia smirked.
"We're not deciding now her gets her. We first need to get farther away, before those two fools come after us." Livius spoke in a cool tone.
I remained seated on the ground trying to figure out my next move. It's five against one. I only have two small knives since my sword was left behind after I impaled Midas. Definitely not good odds.
"I say we shed her blood now." Ares spoke with a grin and a violent emotion swirling in his eyes.
"No, I agree with Livius. We should move to a safer location. I can smell angels nearby and those two idiots are likely to come after us." Hubris spoke up. Eventually, the rest of the group agreed. I stayed silent, giving them all a hard glare.
"Let's go now, my love." Adephagia said happily as she tried to scoop me up into her arms. I stopped her with a kick to the stomach, knocking the wind out of her briefly.
"Don't touch me." I growled.
"Oh stop being so stubborn!" She pouted. I glared at her and she gave a defeated sigh, "Alright we'll do it your guys' way. Go ahead and tie her up."
"Wha-?" I began but was cuz off as Ares grabbed me in a bear hug from the front while someone else tied my hands behind my back, "Let go of me!" I screeched in anger while writhing in his arms.
"Hold still, you stupid bitch." Ares growled back.
My anger grew. Fuck this guy. Out of impulse, I bit his collarbone. I felt a crunch and tasted blood, and he screamed and let go of me. I then head butted whoever was behind me. From the sound of it, it was Midas.
I licked the blood from my lips as I looked at Ares collarbone. It was bleeding and the bone was split in two, with the end of both fragments sticking out of his skin. I smirked, quite proud of myself. Ares, on the other hand, looked quite angered.
"You little-" Ares began but was cut off by laughter.
Midas was almost crying he was laughing so hard, "You just got fucked up by a tiny half breed that can barely use her abilities." He gasped. He eventually calmed down and looked at me. He seemed impressed.
"Let's get going, you imbeciles." Hubris called as she began walking in my direction and then past me.
Adephagia grabbed my arm, "Let's go!" She said cheerfully as she dragged me with her.
I could feel the three men behind me starting at me. I looked behind me. Ares looked furious and was trying to fix his injury. Livius seemed a bit impressed, maybe even... envious? Midas seemed to show an emotion I couldn't quite put my finger on. Jealousy? Desire? Selfishness? I don't know.
I turned back to face the direction in which I was walking. What the future has in store for me now, I have no idea. I want Asmodeus to find me, to save me.
Wait! I don't need a man to save me! I can save myself, damn it, and I will!
