His blue, silvery penetrating orbs which were set at a fixed direction was contrasting his pitch-black, blaring fur as he raced towards the tower where the one that overcomes his heart lies.
The raw, blurring wind blew against him but that wasn't sufficient to make him turn back and hide away from the harsh breeze.
The racing of his heart was nearly competing to the frequency of the speed in which the snow flew. He still felt the dull ache in his body and his heart was worried about her safety.
The pain and desperation in which she pleaded to him to save her were making him anxious every dying minute.
Xavier rushed Talon to move faster when they were approaching the tower.
The anxiety in his trembling form made him pass by the slight footprints on the snow that belonged to a certain vampire.
A light brown wolf that was almost the color of the sand that lay in the Sahara Desert was close behind him, following him steadily and at a safe distance.
Once Xavier passed the bridge that led to the tower, he changed into his Were form in the blink of an eye and ran up the stairs without care for his naked look.
"Tashina!!" he yelled out her name as he quickly put on sweatpants, not bothering to wear a top.
He forgot about the doorknob and used his strong, long leg to kick the door open.
He ran his eyes over the room and at the same time, he used his nose to sniff the room.
'Blood' he thought and walked to the window.
He located the red liquid on the broken glass and used his finger to feel the cool blood that got there when Tashina was saving the little bear.
'A bear?' He also smelt and ran his hands through his sleek, black strands as he looked over the room.
He used his eyes to skim the open closest.
He tried once more to locate her mind but it was shut off as usual.
She won't be able to shut off the mind link because she is still new to it. That could only mean one thing...
She's unconscious.
Xavier ran out of the room at the same time his cousin, Ren, managed to reach the tower after sessions of catching his breath.
He climbed up the stairs as he heaved out for air like a dying pig.
But when he finally reached the room, a gush of wind passed him and he only saw a blur of black hair before he realized what just passed by.
"Xavier!!" he cried out.
"Wait for me!!" he rushed down the staircase as fast as his shaking legs could take him.
'Where are you?' Xavier called out to Tashina but it remained the same.
Her mind was still shut off.
"Goddamit!" He cursed under his breath as he held his head in loss.
Xavier crouched down, outside the tower as he squeezed his eyes in pain. He let out a growl as his heart peeled in distress.
It's been long.
Too long since the Alpha felt this feeling.
The feeling of loss, the feeling of oblivion, the feeling of despair.
He was helpless, hopeless and weak.
He couldn't do anything and the unfamiliar hate that he harbors for himself was brought out from a dark corner inside his heart.
The last time he felt like this was after his parents' death.
And he loathed it.
With. Every. Fibre. Of. His. Body.
'I can't let her go'
'I must find her, no matter what'
'Tashina, wherever you are, help me get to you, my little spark'
Then he felt it.
As small as a seed of an atom.
Yet, he felt her.
The silent call of help, the raw blistering pain of anguish was as little as nothing but that was all he needed to rush towards the direction he felt her call.
It could have been nothing, it could have been just a frail fragment of his imagination.
But the certainty of the call was too forlorn to ignore.
So he sped up towards it.
He ran with his barefoot and ignored the chills that ran up his leg from the snow.
Ren managed to reach the floor and just as he was about to tap Xavier, his brother ran away again and he slumped on the floor.
"Ugh!!!" Ren wailed out as his breaths came out in short sessions, he can't remember last time he ran this long.
He is a Beta, not a freaking marathon runner.
'Please...'
'Please be safe'
Xavier thought as he ran towards the direction of the market.
He slowed down a little when he got to the market. He squinted his eyes to detect any redhead amongst the crowd that surrounded the middle of the ground.
He noticed that some people were hitting something on the ground or rather,
Someone...
He smelt the thick, engulfing scent of blood before he spotted a familiar red hair on the floor.
His heart dropped.
"Tashina!!!" he yelled out.
The crowd fell into a confused hush as they tried to locate the voice of the male. Their eyes widen when they spotted the Alpha, barefooted and wearing nothing but sweatpants.
Definitely not an everyday sight.
They quickly dispersed and made way for him as he ran towards the bleeding figure on the floor.
"No!" He crouched down and picked her up.
"No, look at me" He used his hand to lift her face that was stained with blood.
"urgh..." Tashina spurted out as she coughed out blood.
"Tashina, look at me" His cracked voice begged.
"Pl-please, you're going to be fine," he said as he hugged her to his bare chest.
"How did this happen?! Oh, God, no. Stay with me.." he begged as her eyes dilated in a blur.
A tear fell out of his eyes and dropped on her face.
"M-mr. X-xavier...." she shakily raised her hand that was covered in blood to touch his cheek.
"Yes, stay with me. Don't go, you will be fine. I promise" He urged as his lips shook with fear.
"I'm...sorry. Should have l-listened...to y-you" she choked out.
"It's fine. It's okay"
"I....n-need to tell....you s-something" she held his hand with her bleeding arm.
She spat out more blood.
"No, you're losing too much blood, stop talking!" he held her down.
"I...I..." she stuttered out before her green eyes lost focus and suddenly her grip on his hand got loose.
Too loose.
"Tashina..?!" he called but her eyes weren't on him.
The look in her eyes was so far off that it scared him.
A lot.
"Tashina! Listen to me!!" he called but she didn't answer.
Then her hand fell from his and her body went limp in his arms.
This was it.
The End.
He stared at her, still shocked and unmoving. His arms lost the energy to hold her and her motionless body slipped away from his hands and she fell on the floor with a thud.
A thud too heavy for his aching heart.
The crowd who have been watching their Alpha in complete silence were too confused and bewildered at the formidabilty of the situation.
Their Alpha who was known to be tough, relentless, and unforgiving was the same person, holding the vampire in his arms and crying out loud.
Did their Alpha have a twin that they'd didn't know of?
Who was this male?
The questions rang all over the air as they bowed their head in respect of the Alpha, despite the doubts they had.
Ren who has reached the scene saw his brother on the floor and headed towards him.
"Xavier" Ren called and laid his hand on Xavier's shoulder but was taken aback when Xavier stood up and pushed him away.
"No, she isn't dead!!" Xavier yelled as his red-rimmed eyes blazed with anger, fear, hate, and...love.
"What?" Ren was shocked.
"She isn't gone. She is alive. Tashina, my Tashina, come on, wake up!" Xavier went towards the body and sat beside her as he called for her to stand up.
And for the first time, she didn't answer him.
"Tashina?!" he called again.
"Xavier" Ren grumbled as his heart became heavy for his cousin.
He didn't actually like Tashina but seeing her immobile body covered in blood and wounds, he felt bad for the way he treated her.
"No, don't listen to Ren. Come on, I'm waiting for you.." Xavier's pleads were hefty for the crowd.
He rocked her to and fro on the floor as he pleaded for her to wake up but she never did.
"She is dead!" Ren screamed out of frustration and his voice woke up something in Xavier.
"Yes, Xavier, she is dead and gone. There's nothing you can do about it" Ren said and his vision got blurred with tears.
"No" Xavier whispered.
Another series of tears dropped from his eyes.
"No," he said a little higher.
"No!!" he used his whole power to scream out the denial of her death and out of nowhere came a white, misty blur that seemed to be a dark fog.
It rose to the sky and enveloped the atmosphere with its grand enormity.
Everyone's eyes were on the mysterious form of energy that came out of the Alpha.
Then it was complete and utter silence, the slightest of movement could be heard but no one dared to move not even breath too heavy in fear of awaking something.
But what?
Nobody knew.
In the split of a second, the fog fell swiftly, leaving no moment of tardiness as it rushed down and fell upon the lifeless body of Tashina.
Boom,
Boom!!
He felt her heartbeat.
