Chapter One.

Six months later.

"I don't, I swear I have no idea what happened-"
Crow doesn't let him finish. Pulling the knife he has buried into the man's thigh out, he lifts it high in the air before bringing it back down to his other one.
A scream rips from the man known as Wolfe, begging and screaming with crow he doesn't know what happened and to let him go, But we all know that's not true.
Over the past six months ever since we found out our brother was killed, we have been biding our time, we needed information about Robins whereabouts four-month leading up to death. And, what we found was interesting, to say the least.
Four months ago my brother went to see this man (aka Wolfe)
He met him again a week later before having no contact until two days before he died.
My sister dove, hacked every database she could get into, street cameras, laptops, anything digitally linked can be hacked and lucky for us we got a break.
This fucker had assistance in robin, of what, I'm not sure but, rummer has it Wolfe beat the shit out of him.
So after going through every lead and making a list, we took the plane and landed before taking a car here to this small town outside of Colorado.
"We are going to try this again," says Phoenix
In a bored tone Who's sitting on a chair with me to his right. "Why did Robin come and see you?"
Tears stream down his eyes, the pain he's suffered for the past six hours have been brutal but it's not in comparison to what robin went through. And least not yet.
"You're making this harder on my you're self Wolfe," Phoenix leans forward and clasps his hand in front of him. "Just tell us what we want to know then the pain stops."
Wolfe's eyes look up to my brother, blood covers his face and Saliva drips out his mouth down his chin. I can see him slowly starting to realise there's no way out of this, turning his head away he spits on the ground clearing his throat. We all stand watching him, waiting, except crow.
He stands shitless blood coating his tanned skin as he continues working with the knives that he has lined up on the table beside him, the noise of him sharpening his daggers screeches through the room and even I have to grit my teeth.
Crow is…different.
Out of us, all crow is the best-looking one, his dark brown eyes and a white pearly smile goes a long way for information from women.
There's some Italian that runs through him with the dark hair and tanned skin, his nose is sharp and with clear skin and big lips crow is
For better words, beautiful. People claim being beautiful is a gift, yet, if they could see what I've seen can be achieved with a pretty smile, they would agree it's more a curse.
"I..can't,"
My eyes leave crow to settle on this idiot, I glare at him just wanting this asshole to fucking talk so I can leave, the smell of blood and piss is beginning to irritate me.
Phoenix let's put a disappointing sigh, "That's unfortunate," he leans back and crosses his feet and hands. " I didn't want to do this, but you're levering me no choice, Raven,"
I keep my eyes on this fucker as I pull out my phone and video call Dove, when she answers I give the order. "Kill one,"
I walk over and bend down lifting the phone I hold it in front of him.
Dove already has the camera turned and pointed to the two girls that are tied up on their knees, their muffle cry's can be heard through the speaker of the phone.
"No..no, please, I'll tell you everything please, don't hurt her." Screams Wolfe to me even though I'm right here.
"Shut up," I tell him not bothering to look, " You should have told us Wolfe, this is your fault."
Sparrow is standing between the two girls dressed in red leggings and a tight red T-shirt, her red boots stop just before her knee and she has a gun strapped to one thigh with the other one having a knife attached.
Her fiery orange Curly hair hangs loosely around her face, her thick lips that are covered in red lipstick is set to a scroll.
Her green eyes flick to the camera and she nods her head.
"Please, don't do this!" He screams. " please
Don't.. leave her alone you bunch of fucking-"
Crow stops him from continuing when he grabs his face and turns him to the phone.
"Watch, you're lucky it's my sister there and not me, I would have made sure you were watching when I made her scream before sliting her throat. So make a choice, watch this Or I will leave here and make My way to that fucking house and do just that."
Crow has moved their faces until there both cheek to cheek and facing the camera, the man doesn't struggle in crows hold he just cries, his eyes On the screen.
Sparrow grabs her gun from her leg before stepping back and shooting the girl in the back
Of the head. It's over so quick and fast that if you would have blinked you would have missed it. Her body drops instantly causing the other girl to howl out and try to back away from her now-dead sister's body.
Wolfe screams at the same time crow laughs and kisses his blood-soaked cheek.
I end the call and stand up turning to move back to place beside Phoenix, tucking my phone in my back pocket I stand straight and cross my arms.
"Last time, Why did Robin black meet you?"
Wolfe struggles and shows the tears lashing down his face, when it's come evident it's pointless to struggle he slumps back on the seat.
"Will you let my daughter live?" His voice is barely above a whisper but it echos on the room.
He knows there's no hope for him anymore, I'm
Not surprised he's trying to bargain.
"You have my word, tell me everything no lies Wolfe. And I will let your daughter live but, if I think you're lying then well, Crow seems To like the look of her."
He Bob's his head up and down fast, "yes..yes, no lies I promise. Please, just spare her,"
Phoenix leans forward and gestures for him
To continue.
"I gave the order to have him killed but I didn't do it, I swear I didn't. He came In asking questions about the drugs I was Selling, I told him to leave it, But he didn't, he kept asking and then..they visited me."
He looks at me pleading, "I had no choice, men came to my home, threatened my family. They told me he has to take care of it so I sent word.."
"Did you know who Robin black was, who we are?"
Wolfe shakes his head viciously, " No, I never knew who he was. If I did I wouldn't have done it, my boss told me not to listen to them but they would have killed me-"
"Whats your bosses name?" I interrupt.
"Drake readen." he replies instantly, "he works down at Montgomery gentlemen's club."
"Who was the one that answered you're hit?"
He shakes his head. "I don't know I swear. I don't know who killed him."
Phoenix leans forward clasping his hands. "Who told you to give the order, and think very carefully before you answer Wolfe."
Tears spill harder down his cheeks and where most people have a Conscience, we all don't. He can cry and beg but it will do him no good, it never did Robin.
"I Don't know the name of the people who came to the house just who they worked for."
When he doesn't elaborate, Crow decides to sigh dramatically. "You're still talking in riddles Wolfe and I'm at the end of my patients-"
Wolfe scream interrupts crow as he lifts his machete and cuts right through Wolfes hand, blood pours from the wound, and I refrain from rolling my eyes at the smile overtaking crows face.
"Now," he leans into his face and grabs him harshly by the chin "last fucking chance before I pay a visit to you daughter-"
"Viper!" Wolfe screams. "He goes by the name the viper, I've never seen what he looks like, please, I'm telling the truth."
"Now that wasn't so hard, was it?"
His cries continue through the room and now that we have our information, there's no reason to stay.
"Thank you Wolfe," Phoenix stands up and fixes his coat making sure to take extra long on purpose. "You will die quickly now and as I promised your daughter will not die," even with so much blood pouring from him he seems to relax slightly knowing his daughter will survive, but, you should never wish too early. "After here we will go to your house and your daughter will come with us, I'm sure she will have..skills that could be put to use."
Wolfe's eyes lift back to Phoenix confusion writing on his face. "My brother deserves a treat after today, what do you say crow? What to hurry this up so we can go and pick up your new toy."
Wolfe's eyes widen for a second realising the mistake he's made, but it's far too late. It's too late for them all. Coming to stand behind him crow grips his hair and pulls his head back hard. "Thank you for a very lovely gift Wolfe," with a sinister smile crow cuts his throat. The blood explodes out and drenches his body dripping down onto the floor.
"Let's go,"
I don't waste time turning around and heading for the door.
"Crow, get Dove on the phone I want a full report checked out on everything he said by tomorrow morning." declares Phoenix, "And I want that body gone, I don't want our involvement known just yet."
We Make our way upstairs from the basement of the run-down building until we enter outside into the night air.
The stars line the sky and as we walk forward to the car, the smell of an outside fire from one of the neighbouring farms takes me back to the day after we buried Robin.

> The stars are beautiful tonight. They blink down at me and with no cloud in sight, my whole attention is drawn to them. The moon shines down brightly on top of the five of us, with the fire going it just give us enough light to see one another. The only other light is from our house that's sitting on top of the hill about five hundred yards away. It's so silent except the fire that when my brother talks my eyes are instantly drawn to him. "Don't be like that," says crow sipping his beer, "play me a song little dove?"Her eyes narrow but dove can never say no to crow, even if she looks like she's about to argue we all know she will still do it. They're both each other's weaknesses, always have been, always will. The crackling of the fire is the only noise that echos around us until Dove's fingers brush against the strings. Very gently, she starts to play a low melody that surrounds us, Crows smiles to himself drinking the last of his beer before throwing it along the beach. "I miss Robin," blurts out sparrow the pain in her voice clear. "I miss him so fucking much." Dove continues to play and I have to turn and face the fire to hold onto the tears that are threatening to spill over, I would like to say I have good memories of Robin like the others have but, I just don't. Every memory between us is bitter. As if feeling my turmoil Phoenix eyes lift across the fire towards me but I don't look at him. The cold crisp air bites my skin and I take a deep breath letting the salty sea air relax me. Crows eyes are intense as he stares at the flames of the fire, his dark features are illuminated by the flickering light. "Robin should be here," his voice is grave. I've all chosen not to answer him because what he's saying is true, Our brother should be beside us right now but instead, he's…I lift my gaze over to crow who is staring at me with hard heartless eyes." You're the reason he's dead" he spits to me. "Crow," warns Phoenix but my brother's eyes don't move an inch from mine. I know I shouldn't let his words get to me but no matter how much I try every time crow says that it kills me a little more inside" Don't fucking start me Phoenix." He snaps, leaning forward pointing his finger to me," You know she's the reason Robin is fucking dead, it's her. It's always fucking her-". "Jesus Christ that's enough Crow!" Booms sparrow. "No matter how many times you say it, it's not going to bring him back. Blaming Raven for this ain't fair-" "You want to start talking about fair sparrow!" Closing my eyes and rubbing my temple I try to speak, "Guys please-"
Jumping up, Crow takes a few steps towards Sparrow but my sister is already up instant bracing herself.
"What's not fair is Robin, and we all, " he points to everyone except Dove, "are sitting here not talking about the fucking reason he's dead-
"It's still not her fault," argues back Sparrow, "You are blaming Raven for the fact that OUR brother was an idiot who got himself killed."
The atmosphere turns more deadly, and Crow's nostrils flare as he steps closer to her.
"Take that back".
"Make me."
The two of them are at a standoff not one backing down from the other, Dove is still playing that guitar and seems to have no intention of stopping, Even if our siblings are trying to kill one another. Crow takes another step and Sparrow matches him, this is when Phoenix has had enough. Standing up he walks between the two of them, "If you both don't sit down right now I will personally escort the two of you back to the house-"

"Raven?"
I snap out my thoughts and turn my head to Pheonix who's watching me closely.
"Yeah?"
He tilts his head to the side, "You good?"
The thing with Phoenix is no matter how much I keep myself passive on the outside he can see through it. He understands me better than I understand myself, The majority of the time I would tell him the truth but just not today.
"Yeah Pheonix, I'm good."
Noddin his head once He accepts what I say without an argument. I reach over and open the back door for him to get inside, I keep my eyes advertised waiting for him to climb in.
He pauses for a second eyeing me, I'm sure he's about to ask again but instead, he just climbs into the back of the car.
Letting out a breath I shut the door before climbing inside and heading home.

We pull up to the house and see Dove and Sparrow already waiting. They're both standing in front of the van Dove with a bright smile and Sparrow with an irritated expression on her face.
I park the SUV and open the door getting out. Me, crow and Phoenix walk towards them my eyes flicking to the wolf's daughter who's in between Sparrow and Dove.
Her long blonde hair is filled with blood and sweat, and there is a major bruise on her face that's swelling up. It's a pretty-looking thing. She has nice lips and doll-like features She's got on her pyjamas, plain black ones and when my eyes lift to hers she's staring daggers at us.
I raise an eyebrow at her but it's crow who breaks the silence.
"Well, what do we get here?" Her eyes move to him and she glares harder. There's duck tape on her mouth but Crow steps forward and rips it off.
Her eyes are full of water and there's redness surrounding her lips.
"Fuck you, you spineless dirty good for nothing prick," she spits at Crow." When I get free I'm going to kill you."
Her words are venom and there's no doubt in my mind if this girl had the opportunity she would do just that.
Crow takes a step towards her with a smirk on his face. He lifts his hand and touches her cheek gently.
"Aw sweetheart, I can't wait to see how I'm going to put that dirty mouth of yours to work."
She screams and even though Dove and Sparrow have a hold of her-she still tries to make a dive for him.
He steps back laughing and turns to Phoenix.
"I love this new toy."
"I'm not a toy you fucking asshole." She shouts again but I've had enough of this.
"Put her in the basement, If she continues to scream like that then you're not going to have a new toy for long."
Sparrow and Dove push her along towards the house kicking and screaming. Gotta give it to her she's got a fight, Pity it won't do her any good with Crow.
I turn and follow the girls the pain in my head throbbing worse. Whenever a memory strikes me it leaves me feeling fucked up. The sooner we figure this out the sooner we can leave the decrepit town.
I get inside and begin to walk up the stairs when Phoenix's voice rings out.
"I need to have a meeting with the council They want updated." I stop and turn around. "Why are they taking such an interest?"Says Crow Shutting the front door.
"I'm wondering that myself. It's not like them to be this involved."
I tilt my head. "Maybe there scared."
Phoenix's eyes rise to mine. "Maybe, but either way I'm not going to give them a lot. The council will find out what I want them to find out But in the meantime."
He turns to Crow. "Keep the girl quiet. I don't want to be hearing her screaming when I'm on video call to them."
An evil smirk crosses his face and he puts out his pinky.
"Pinky promise."
Phoenix rolls his eyes and walks away from him down the hallway crowing and laughing behind him.
I turn and head up to my room. I try to think about the council and what they would want but, my thoughts keep drifting back to the memory. I don't want to deal with this tonight. Reaching my room I go in and shut the door before making my way to my bed. Kicking off my shoes and jacket I go into the drawer and take out two painkillers. With a bottle of water already beside my bed, I lift it and swallow down the pills.
Laying on the bed I close my eyes and pray for sleep to overtake me. And when it finally comes so do the nightmares.
