I Went Back In Time

Logan slightly opened his eyes and saw Isla's back and he blinked his eyes slowly to see clearly. He finally did and that was when he noticed that her shoulders were shaking before someone's hands were wrapped around her. He wondered who it was as he felt anger and jealousy creeping to his neck.

He called with both worry and confusion. He was actually glad that he was awake. He thought he would die after what happened because of how he painfully flew to the tree. Isla, who he thought didn't hear him, turned around slowly, her eyes filled with surprise, happiness and fear. She went over to him and sat beside him.

"How are you?" She whispered, placing her trembling hands on his slowly.

He smiled at her. "I'm okay," he said dryly with a hoarse voice. Isla signed with tears in her eyes.

He turned his side to see who was with them in the room. To his surprise, he saw Devon there with a blank face.

"How are you feeling now?" Isla asked, distracting him.

He turned to look at Isla and then back at Devon. Isla tried ignoring his gaze but he kept staring at her.

Was she hugging Devon? He wondered. His face was red but his body was weak.

He was too weak to ask her anything, so he let it slide and instead focused his attention on her face. He was actually glad that he survived.

"What are you doing?" She asked him when he tried to move his upper body. "You're weak, lie down back." She pushed him back.

He let her push him since he after all had no strength. "You should let him stand," they heard a deep cold voice.

"What do you mean?" Isla looked at him with a confused face.

"He needs to get up so we can leave this place," Devon explained further. His eyes looked at Logan coldly which made Logan confused. Between them, who was supposed to be angry?.

Isla looked at Logan unable to disagree with Devon on the matter. She looked worried and confused.

Logan stood up with a frown on his face. "Then what are you waiting for? Let's go already," he tried to sit but groaned in pain.

Isla turned to look at Devon to pass him a knowing message. Devon frowned, clearly disapproving of it but she still looked at him until he had no choice but to go towards the bed and placed Logan's hand over his shoulder then he gradually lifted him from the bed.

"Wait, I can walk by myself." Logan insisted.

"Just let him carry you already," she said, her head already hurting with how stubborn he was.

They finally took him outside to the stable.

"Oh my God, Logan!" Amelia gasped.

"What happened to you?" Ava asked.

The injuries he suffered were severe and they doubt he could even stand.

"We should go back now," Oliver said, clearing his throat.

"Put him on the horse." The woman helping them said.

"I'll ride the horse with him," Oliver said.

"We'll ride together." Ava informed them, pointing at Amelia.

"I'll ride with..." Isla said but trailed off as she looked around.

"There are only three horses, Isla, you can ride with Devon," the woman suggested.

"Oh alright," Isla replied timidly as she stole glances at Devon. Then they got on the horse and Devon sat in front of her while she wrapped her hands around him from behind. This made her face heat up as her fingers couldn't help but feel his hard torso.

They said goodbye and started the ride back. During the ride Isla's hands would accidentally move to his chest because of the bumpy road.

She had no idea when she placed her head on his back and slept off

"Why does she get to ride with him?" Amelia whispered to her sister.

They rode into the night then stopped afterwards. "Let's stop here," Devon said and they halted. "We should rest for the night."

He helped Isla down from the horse then Logan who was unconscious.

"Ummm.. can you help us down too?" Amelia asked timidly. Devon looked at them and nodded before helping them as well.

"Let's camp here tonight, we'll continue again tomorrow." He announced.

Isla tossed on the ground but she still couldn't sleep. She heard a sound close by and made her way there even though she had promised herself not to wander around.

Upon reaching there, she was startled to see Devon standing there.

"Why are you still awake?" He asked with his back still facing her.

She looked around confusingly. Was he speaking to her?.

"You know, you should be sleeping by now," he said again.

"Umm... I can't sleep," she replied after confirming that he was talking to her. "What about you? Why are you still awake?" She asked, walking over to where he stood.

"I can't sleep either." He replied.

"Did something happen after I was hanged?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean with the villagers. Why weren't you there?"

"I was helping the twins," he replied nonchalantly.

"Still we could've used your help," she insisted.

"Do you rather I leave them to die just to save you instead? When two men would literally die to save you," he said, sounding upset.

"They were badly injured."

"And whose fault is that?"

"I did nothing, I really didn't do anything." she retorted.

"Yeah.. so much for being a witch." He scoffed.

"I'm not a witch," she said hastily.

"Yeah, I believe you." He said but Isla knew better.

"I'm serious.. I went back in time and saw what happened- you know what? Nevermind." She shook her head.

"What do you mean you went back in time?" Devon asked curiously.

"I mean I went back to when Hesebel was still alive."

Devon turned to face her. "And what did you see?"

Isla creased her face while in deep thoughts. "Well.. I.. I.."

"You want?" He urged her.

"I saw.. wait I don't fully remember. But I saw something, I'm sure I did," she said, looking at him with wide eyes.

"So, what happened?"

"I don't know and I can't remember." She looked at him. "I don't remember what I saw," she whispered.
