4 1/2 Weeks

When we get to the sonogram room the doctor asks for me to sit down on one of the hospital beds provided. "Okay I'm going to need you to lay down so i can apply the gel to the lower section of your stomach" I nodded and laid down on my back. "Okay I'm going to need you to lift your shirt up just a little" I nod lifting my shirt up all the way only to stop in time so my bra doesn't show. "Just warning you it will be a little cold especially if it's your first time" the doctor says making sure i am completely aware of what is about to go down. "Thank you and this is my first pregnancy so i dont know what to expect" The doctor smiles "It's completely normal to be frightened or scared but being pregnant is as simple as breathing. Your body already knows what to do so take it easy and take your prenatal pills and you'll be fine" I nodded "Okay can I put the gel on now or do you need a few minutes?" I laughed "No Im ready" she smiles "Alright" she says and starts squirting a dollop of the gel on my lower abdomen. The gel was really cold like if you grabbed an ice cube and let it melt in your hand cold, she starts using a tool and moves the gel around and she does this for a little while. "Alright I found the babies and they look healthy" I looked at the doctor confused "Babies? there's supposed to be only one I don't understand" She moved the screen so I would be able to see what was going on, she pointed to one of the tiniest things I've ever saw "This is Baby A" she then points to another tiny thing "And this Is Baby B" the doctor says I stared at the picture for a few minutes not knowing what to say, I thought I was only having one child. i just stared at the picture for a little while before I smiled "I'm having twins" I look over at my mom and she's bawling her eyes out.

I look back at the screen "They're so beautiful" I say astonished on what I made "I have it recorded you may stare at it for as long as you want" I nodded as she took the tool off of me and gave me some napkins to wipe the gel off. "Thank you so much" she smiled "Your welcome" I wiped off the gel with the napkins she gave me when i looked back up I noticed she brought the trash can to me and I just thew them in the basket. She put the basket back where it was before "I have a question" I say pulling down my shirt and sitting upright. "Good that's what i'm here for what is your question or concerns you may have?" I smiled before asking "How many weeks would you say I am?" the doctor smiles "I'd say Four and a half weeks" I smile looking back at the screen for a moment before turning my direction back to the doctor after she asks "Do you want a picture It only cost $12.99" I nodded quickly "Ill take one" I say looking at her. "Nope she'll take two" I chuckled and looked at my mother she just shrugged at me "What I wanna have one two its not everyday that my daughter is pregnant with twins" I laugh "I love you mom" she smiles "I love you too kid" Toby gets up from his seat and comes toward the bed "Is that my niece or nephew?" I smile ruffing his hair up a little.

"Your going to be an uncle of two babies and we will find out if its going to be two girls or two boys or both" Toby's eyes lit up "I'm going to be the best uncle in the world" I chuckled as he said that "I hope so because I will certainly need your help" he then stands up straight and nods at me while sticking out his thumb "You got it" I smiled "Well you look all set to go but we do advise you to take some prenatal pills for the first twelve weeks so I will prescribe you for the pills and I'll be back with the pictures, In the mean time I'll leave you alone" She says before heading out of the room. Mom gets up and walks to the bed looking at the screen "They're beautiful" she said before looking at me and hugging me tightly "You sure you want to go through this?" I nod "I'm sure" Mom pats my back a a few seconds before releasing me. "Okay lets do this" she says and sticks out her hand for an high five I laugh and we both high fived. "There's a lot of stuff that needs to be done" I said just realizing I'm going to be a mom of not just one but two mom nods "I agree we'll need twice the diapers, two cribs, twice the clothes and the food" I chuckled and patted mom's back.

"Ma calm down we'll figure this out soon but just so you know if you get stressed I'll get stressed" Mom chuckled "I won't stress you out" I nodded "I know mom" I smiled before help "Mom can we tell Trish and Christina?"Toby asks mom looked at me then back at Toby "That's Winter's decision honey" Mom says and Toby pouts "But I wanna tell them" I smile "How about we all go back home and we can tell them then" Toby jumps up and down excited to tell them the news "Thank you sister" Toby says and I nod "Of course" the doctor came back in the room with something in her hands "These are your pictures and I already prescribed you for prenatal pills....You are free to go home" the doctor says handing me the pictures "Have a nice day" mom says as the doctors waking towards the door "You too" the doctor replies before heading out of the room. I look down at the pictures smiling how can two tiny little beings be so important to me and we haven't even met yet. I touched my stomach smiling before getting up off of the bed "Alright you guys ready to go?" mom asked I nodded "How about we invite Trish and Christina to stay the night?" Mom thought about it for a second and nodded "We can ask them" I smiled "Great lets go" I said smiling.

We walked out of the room and walked pass the nurses and doctors around, when we make it back to the waiting room Christina nudged Trish to wake up. Trish woke up rubbing her eyes as we walked towards them, when we got there I looked at the kids room then back to my friends. "So is the baby healthy?" Christina asked I nodded "Yes both of them are healthy" Christina and Trish's eyes both widened as i said it. "You're having twins?" Trish asked surprised I smiled and nodded "I'm having twins" I said with tears in my eyes, Both Trish and Christina got up hugged me and congratulated me. After hugging for a few minutes I let them both go and wiped my tears "All we have to do now Is see if the doctor can tell you If your pregnant or not" I said looking towards Trish.
