Abandoned Warehouse

'Of course the meeting place would be in an abandoned warehouse, how cliche can this get,' I thought to myself as I entered the building.

"My, my, Gambit didn't know his client would be so beautiful," a Cajun voice spoke from the shadows. "The name's Gambit, mon chère."

"Not the client play boy. Amon sent me as backup since he doesn't trust this client," I told him as I looked at the spot in the shadows that he was in.

"Ahh, and who might you be? Gambit hasn't seen you in the guild before," Gambit said as he exited the shadowy area and entered into the lit area with me.

"My name's not important," I told him.

"Ooh, playin' hard to get, I see," Gambit said, looking me up and down.

"Are you always a constant flirt?" I teasingly asked him.

"Only with a beautiful thing such as yourself," he said.

Before we could continue with our little banter, the sound of footsteps interrupted us. We both turned to the entrance to see a man coming in. The man had tan skin, black hair, and a beard. He was also dressed in some fancy clothes that screamed,'I got money'.

[Nathaniel Essex Lvl ???]

Well, that's not good. This is the first time someone's level wasn't available to me, and using Observe probably won't give me anything more about him. But, just to be on the safe side, I'll use it.

Just as I thought, only question marks popped up, but it told me that he had an interest in both me and Gambit. I just hope that's a mild curiosity and nothing serious.

"Nathaniel Essex, I presume?" Gambit questioned.

"Yes, I thought I was supposed to be meeting a Jean-Luc LeBeau," Nathaniel said.

"Well, he sent us. So, what do you need from us?" I said before asking him what he wanted from the Thieves Guild.

"Very well then. I need you to steal back my diaries that the Wepon X program stole from me," Mr. Essex said.

"Diaries? Seriously?" I questioned him along with Gambit, raising an eyebrow in confusion.

"Is that a problem? I could just take my business elsewhere," the doctor said.

"No, no, we'll gladly take on this task," Gambit said as he covered my mouth with his hand and pulled me out of the way.

"Excellent, here is the location of the facility," Nathaniel said, handing Gambit a slip of paper.

After letting me go, both Gambit and I looked at the paper. When we looked back up, Nathaniel Essex was gone.

"What in the Batman," I said, looking around the empty warehouse.

"Well now, mon chère, looks like we got a job to do," Remy said, stuffing the paper into the pocket of his long jacket.

"Great, while we're going there, I want to tell you about a school I heard of," I said as we started walking out of the warehouse.

Unknown to the both of us at the time, a pair of red eyes were watching me very intensely.
