THE LABORATORY-BEGINNING

Realizing that he is not dead, he looks into the unknown lab he is in and sees everything in the lab is scattered around as if someone made a ruckus there. He tried looking around him and understood that he was in a bit tight cage and thought that the roof of the cage was too near to him he then looked at his hands and was shocked. He saw his own body for the first time since he woke up and understood that he was not in a human body anymore.

"Judging from the cage, the lab, and my body it seems like I died and got reincarnated into this rat."

He thought to himself. He then tried to speak out but only to understand he could only squeal like a rat. While he was trying to speak he said 'help' in his mind which resulted in him squealing for help, so the rats beside him reacted and said

"Hey! Newbie thought you were dead when that human experimented on you."

He did not understand how he was able to understand what the other rat was saying, but as a reply, he said

"What happened to me, what are you talking about?".

The other rat said what happened before he came into the rat's body.

The scientist who works in that lab experiments on something and he uses the rats for testing purposes, so when he injected a sample into the rat's body it started squealing heavily and suddenly stopped making noise and the scientist felt very frustrated and threw everything on the desk away and kept the motionless rat in its cage hoping it might wake up again. The fellow rat called him a newbie because he came to the lab just a few hours ago from the streets. After knowing what happened, he understood two things the first one was that the scattered objects were done by scientists and the other was the world he is in is not a well-developed one because they brought a wild rat for lab purposes.

After settling his thoughts he thought about his family, he felt sad and relieved at the same time that he left huge money and a good name in society and thought that they would live a happy life.

"Even though I was the one maintaining the company, my sister is capable enough to raise a new one on her own. So I don't think they will face any big trouble having a happy life." he thought to himself.

he felt sad leaving them but he thought this should be a new beginning for him and thought of how to get out of that cage. Though he doesn't know what to do after getting out he just wants to survive and touches the fence of the cage but he feels a hot sensation from the fence and it gradually increases with the time he holds it, so he understands that he can't escape for the time being and decided to wait for the right timing.

He started to observe the objects in the lab in order to formulate a plan and saw some objects that he couldn't recognize, one of which was a light-emitting object hung on the wall that was not connected to any power line or didn't seem like it had any battery. He was skeptical for some time that this world might contain magic but after seeing that device his doubts were deepened so in order to clear them he asked the rat that was beside him. He asked whether there is magic in the world or not. The rat beside him said

"There is magic everywhere in the world, around you, me, and everything present in the entire world but whether you can feel it or not specifies the power of the beings in our world, and as for me someone who can sense it, I am not your general rat you know…".

As the rat completed explaining He had a doubt about what he meant by "not a general rat" so, he asked him

"Then what are you if not a general rat?".

Hearing this the other rat asked

"Hey kid, are you okay in your head? Anyways the animals or beasts that can sense the magic in the air are known as "LATENT CREATURES" Usually we will have the ability to sense the magic and move to make the situations advantageous for ourselves in dangerous circumstances but the ability to control the magic and have the capacity to store the essence of magic in them, will only be with the "MANIFESTED CREATURES" they are also called as the "DOMINANT BEASTS", and there are different levels in both latent and dominant beasts there are even stronger beasts than the strongest beasts in dominant beasts but I don't exactly know of them cause am just a general low ranked latent beast whereas, from the looks of it, you are a normal beast cause u touched and activated the magic fence in front of you~"

saying this the rat laughed at him who was not paying attention to his laughter and thinking about what he said.

He knows that the most important thing that is needed for surviving in an unknown place and world is INFORMATION. He got a little bit of info from the rat beside him about magic and the other stuff like the habitats and the types of beasts present and also the lab they are in, etc. he now decided to escape from the lab when the opportunity comes and he asked whether the other wants to escape or not.

The other rat agreed and asked for his name. He thought that it was not appropriate to use the name from his past life as his name now cause it is not the same life anymore so he said he don't remember his name and any other data regarding the past and he only remembers from the movement he opened his eyes. So the other rat said he will call him a newbie for now or Karmal if it is ok with him and Vishnu agreed on "Karmal" and asked his name in return the other rat said his name is 'Shank'.
