Lets Fight!

Without even a moments hesitation, Grant committed to the deal.

Since the second he had stepped foot in the dungeon and seen what it looked like, he had wanted one for himself. As for what the dungeon was capable of, he had no clue. But that wasn't important to him because what self respecting man in his early teen years to his mid 20's didn't want their own lair? Imagine the things that you could do with it!

While Grant was mentally jumping with joy, Skit reached his boney hand across the open space where the table had once been so that they could shake hands and formally complete the deal. Without hesitation, Grant reached across and returned the handshake.

"I am pleased that you have agreed to assist me Grant. I have no doubt that if we work together, we can make this a profitable partnership for the both of us.

With that said, I must admit, that I have already collected the cores from the two Enlightened Tier Monsters that you have fought so you do not need to worry about those, but I would like you to exchange all of the mana cores you find from here on out, unless you have an impending use for them.

I sensed that you had left the cores behind and took advantage of your ignorance to profit."

"Ah whatever, it's not like I have a need for them right now anyways. Plus, I never plan on doing any crafting or anything myself as it is. If I do have a use for them in the future, I will make sure that I discuss it with you so that we both are happy.

Now, enough about the deal. We can hash out the details later.

Tell me more about the dungeon and the dungeon core. How do I take ownership, what is it capable of, and how big can it become?!"

The sheer amount of enthusiasm that Grant displayed for the dungeon and the dungeon core confused Skit, but he decided not to think on it too much.

As far as he was concerned, Grant was ignorant of many things. Unlike him who had experience with The Path for countless years at this point, Grant had barely even dipped his toe in that particular pool of knowledge.

While shaking his head at the childish display that Grant was putting on, Skit simply turned to walk toward a portion of the wall that was located behind where they had been sitting the entire time.

"Follow me, I will show you to the dungeon core."

Hearing what Skit had to say, Grant basically skipped with joy to Skit's side before following him into a room that was located behind another illusion similar to the one he passed through at the entrance to the dungeon.

When he entered through the membrane that created the illusion, he was greeted by the sight of a circular room that was no more than 5ft x 5ft.

Floating aimlessly in the center of the room, was a jagged crystal about the size of a baseball. Without a pause, Skit walked over to the crystal and stood next to it before gesturing at the crystal with his outstretched hand, palm faced up.

"This is the dungeon crystal. Its size represents the power of the dungeon itself. As you can imagine, a dungeon core this size is nothing impressive. It is barely capable of sustaining the weakest members of my species such as the ones you saw when we first entered.

Unless monsters or people are slain within or near the dungeon, the dungeon core will grow at a steady but extremely slow rate.

The quickest way to increase the size of a dungeon core is to have it absorb mana crystals. However, unless there is an emergency, I would advise against that.

Now for taking ownership, since I have already claimed this dungeon core, you cannot take control of it unless I am dead or I willingly transfer control too you. Of course, as always, there are ways around this, but they are exceedingly rare and not something to concern yourself with.

Come here and place your hand on the crystal and I will transfer the ownership to you now."

Without hesitation, Grant walked over to the crystal and placed his hand directly on top of Skit's hand which was resting on the crystal.

{Congratulations: Skit Iyuthum The Rotting would like to transfer ownership of the Earth side of the Earth & Renrarth Dungeon to you. If you would like to accept ownership, please say "Yes."}

"Yes!"

{Congratulations, you have now obtained ownership of the Earth side of the Earth & Renrarth Dungeon.

Mana available for dungeon modifications or transfers: 10}

Grant just stood there with a massive grin on his face. The menu was exactly what he had dreamed it would be. It was similar to the dungeon editors he had played at home on his computer and now he was going to get to do it in real life!

He couldn't help but imagine all of the different things that he would like to do with the dungeon in the future.

However, his enthusiasm came crashing down as quickly as it had elevated when he saw how much mana was available for dungeon modifications.

It was not at all surprising that the mana was so low, mostly because Skit seemed to be a bit of a cheapskate when it came to mana and mana cores, but he was still disappointed because no matter how naïve he was, it was impossible to think that 10 mana would be enough to make any significant changes whatsoever.

He decided that no matter what, he would spend some time getting that stockpile to grow so that he could start to alter the dungeon to his wishes.

The more he thought about it, the more excited he became. It would be moving day soon for Ally and the kids since he could bring them here and create a much safer place for them!

Grant was snapped out of his thoughts however with Skit's next words.

"I guess we are now bonded together. I look forward to our cooperation and now that you have ownership of the dungeon, I assume you will be staying here, which means we will be living under the same roof."

"Wait, you didn't say you would be staying here? I thought you would leave once our partnership was completed?"

"I cannot return to my planet at this time because the mana is not sufficient to sustain any transfer what-so-ever and other than traveling around the surrounding area trying to find Enlightened Tier monsters to kill for cores, I have nothing better to do but rest."

As much as he wanted to send Skit packing, he neither had the strength nor a reason to do it.

At this point, Grant had no option other than to make the best of the situation. So he proposed that when the mana bank was high enough to make alterations to the dungeon, that he would create a room specifically for Skit that he could use as a place to rest out of sight from anyone else in the dungeon.

Grant had no doubt that the people he would inevitably invite back to his dungeon would be capable of accepting Skit for what he is, but it would be difficult at first for some people. So he wanted to make sure that Skit had his own space away from prying eyes when he wanted it.

After they finished discussing future living arrangements, Grant decided that he wanted to return back to the gun shop immediately to get Ally and the kids and bring them here.

However, when he reached the entrance of the dungeon, he realized that the world outside the dungeon appeared to be engulfed in one giant tornado.

Winds strong enough to uproot trees and cement alike were swirling incessantly as far as he could see. Rain was falling as if trying to drown the entire world while lighting was streaking both across the sky and down to earth every few seconds.

Grant had no doubt that he could make it through the weather without much issue, but it would be impossible for Ally and the kids to travel in it. And rather than subject them to the dangers, he decided to wait out the storm in the dungeon.

Without anything better to do, Grant walked back to the center of the first and largest part of the dungeon before turning to face Skit.

"Hey Skit, lets fight."

Hey everyone!
