Let's go already

Jason looked at the spiky haired boy, yawning in front of the mercenaries. He seemed unperturbed as he faced dozens of mercenaries aiming there crossbows at him. He slowly walked towards the leader of the mercenaries.

When the leader saw the slow approach of the boy, he signaled the crossbowmen to shoot. The arrows flew, but the boy evaded them with the least possible movement, and those he couldn't evade he caught the arrows in between his fingers.

Jason was in awe, the spiky haired boy that look to be around his age was incredible. He was even yawning and rubbing his eyes as he skillfully evaded the barrage of arrows. The group of people who saw his flawless movements had one thought in their minds, was this boy a cultivator?

Yet somehow they knew the boy wasn't, since their was no fluctuation of Qi when the boy moves. Even they who were laymen in regards to cultivation, can somehow sense Qi, and they knew for a fact that the boy never used Qi the whole time he evaded and caught the arrows. That would mean that was simply how skillful the boy was.

"Hey who are these guys, and why did they suddenly attacked me?" The spiky haired boy, asked the knight who was on their side.

"Good sir, this men are here to abduct one of the refugees." The knight explained, as he stood up.

"They want to abduct someone? That makes them kidnappers..." The spiky haired boy, still looked a bit groggy but when he heard the word abduct, the atmosphere grew even more tense.

The leader of the mercenaries noticing the mood was turning bad for them, spoke in an apologetic tone.

"I'm sorry sir, their has been a misunderstanding between our two groups. We're not here to kidnap anyone, we're just here to escort young master Lin back to his land. You see his Uncle paid us to escort him to his homeland."

"The hell you talking about! You tried to kill us!" Jason shouted full of righteous fury.

Noticing the spiky haired boy's expression getting tenser, as he was slowly waking up, the leader started to panic. He shook his head in denial of Jason's statement.

"You are mistaken lad, we did that because you wouldn't give us young master Lin. We even asked nicely and tried to give your escorting knights some compensation. Yet they didn't comply, which made me feel suspicious. Why wont they hand over young master Lin, they must be kidnappers, is what I thought. So because of the job I needed to protect the young master and ordered the attack."

When Jason heard what the leader of the mercenary group said, he got even angrier. But after thinking for awhile their wasn't really any lie in what the leader said. Of course Jason wouldn't know what the leader was truly thinking, but if one looks at it in a third person's perspective everything he said was right.

"Is that true?" The spiky haired youth asked the knight.

The knight pondered for a bit, and sighed everything they said was what actually happened but with a touch of falsehood. The knight was forced to nod his head.

When the leader of the mercenary group saw the knight nod, he felt relieved.

"Ok then so their was a misunderstanding, but do tell me why you attacked me?"

"Sir! That was just because of your overwhelming presence, we mere mortals could only move out of fear. We really didn't mean any harm to you sir, we were just scared. I'm sorry sir!" The leader and his group of mercenaries kowtowed in front of the spiky haired boy.

The spiky haired boy stretched his arms, and smiled. "Well there really was no harm done, and accidents do happen. Still I want some form of compensation."

"Anything sir, name your price." The leader immediately answered.

"I want to meet the man who ordered you to escort Lin. Don't worry I will help you in your escort mission, to send the so called young master Lin to his uncle."

Lin went out of the carriage and wanted to say something to the spiky haired boy, but was unable to. Michael was also scared at the idea of going to the person who paid these mercenaries to abduct Lin and kill those who get in the way.

Jason stood beside the spiky haired boy, without any fear. "Hey there's obviously going to be a trap waiting there. I can't allow you to take my friend there. I don't care no matter how strong you are, I will take you on and protect my friend."

The spiky haired boy looked at Jason amused. "Don't worry, even if its a trap I will deal with it. And about your friend don't you think he's curious as to who this supposed uncle is? Also no need to worry about his safety, I promise I'll protect him until I finish my business with his uncle."

Jason was about to say something but was stopped by Lin. "Don't worry Jason... I will go and meet the man who calls himself my uncle."

Jason looked into Lin's eyes and saw his eyes shining with resolve. Michael sighed and patted Lin and Jason's shoulders. "Don't worry like we just need to stick together."

"Ok then, now that everyones' in the same page. You what's your name?" The spiky haired boy pointed at the leader of the Mercenary group.

"I'm called Brian, how can I help you sir?"

"No need to call me sir, just call me R..." The spiky haired boy who was obviously Ragna hesitated in saying his name. So he decided to use his real name from his former world. "Just call me Ren."

"Ok then Ren, how could I be of assistance."

"Tell your men to return to wherever you guys are staying at. I only need you to guide us to the one who hired you." Brian started to ponder for a bit and nodded his head. He commanded his group to return to their base in the capital. After saying what he must, Brian told Ren that he was ready now.

"Ok then, I'm going back to sleep. Just wake me up when we get there." Ren went back into the carriage leaving behind the dumbfounded trio and Brian. The knight leader who was scolding his two subordinates, looked at Ren who was heading back into the carriage.
