This trial was very complicated due to many aspects, Jacob thought once the rules and conditions to pass this trial were announced. Firstly, it involves physical endurance. Carrying and climbing require a great amount of strength and physical stamina, so they must be able to stay active throughout the entire process until they reach that shelf that seems to lead to some kind of structure connecting to others.
Their coordination must be perfect; four eyes are better than two, and the one being carried should direct the climb. For this, Usagi was the best at serving as a guide. She has rich experience in mountain climbing from what she had told him, so she has that covered.
As Usagi had mentioned before, maintaining balance and stability while carrying and climbing can be challenging, especially on difficult and slippery terrain. They must be attentive to their positioning and be careful not to fall or lose control.
In addition to that, prolonged carrying and climbing can lead to fatigue and exhaustion. They must properly manage their energy and ensure they rest when necessary to avoid mistakes and injuries.
Not to mention the time they have, which should be ten minutes after the start of the trial. Therefore, they must first plan an appropriate climb.
"So, which way do we climb?" Jacob asked as he looked at the different places they could climb.
Usagi first looked at each possible climbing spot, visualized the weight those objects could bear, and pondered for a moment.
"[The second phase has begun!]"
"Let's go, Usagi, climb on my back!" Jacob said after waiting for a few minutes.
"Are you sure?" Usagi looked at Jacob, who seemed convinced.
"I've never carried you before, but I can tell you're not heavy." Jacob smiled a bit and pointed, "Your legs should wrap around my stomach, and your hands my neck, but remember not to squeeze too hard and, above all, guide me during the climb."
"Okay!" Usagi nodded and, after putting both shotguns on her back, she looked at Jacob's back and climbed on.
"Exactly, you're not heavy at all!" Making that joke, Usagi squeezed Jacob's neck, to which he said, "Okay, no more compliments..."
Jacob carried Usagi on his back, making sure she was secure and comfortable. Together, they began ascending the metallic structure, venturing into the challenging ascending trial. The climb was strenuous; each movement required concentration and strength, but Jacob trusted Usagi's guidance and his own determination to overcome the challenge.
Jacob made sure Usagi was securely strapped to his back before starting the climb.
"Are you ready, Jacob? Remember to maintain your balance and trust me." Usagi, this time, would be the leader for the climb.
Jacob nodded and said, "Of course, I trust you, Usagi. Let's climb this structure like damn spiders."
"Exactly! And don't worry, I'll guide you every step of the way."
Jacob began climbing the structure, following Usagi's instructions. As they ascended, the view of the amusement park unfolded before them, with its colorful rides and bright lights.
"Do you see that, Usagi? That roller coaster looks like a real challenge. Maybe we can ride it once we finish this trial."
"Yes, if we win... But first, we have to reach that shelf at the top. Let's keep moving."
As they approached a more challenging area, Usagi pointed out an alternative route.
"Jacob, avoid that slippery area and use that rocky beam to keep climbing. It will give you better grip."
"I understand!"
Despite Jacob's fatigue, Usagi encouraged him, and Jacob also joked to make her feel less guilty. "Hey, Usagi, have you ever felt like we're the protagonists of an action movie?"
"Sometimes I think we're in a movie..."
As they neared the shelf, Jacob needed a brief rest.
Jacob, feeling his hands burning, momentarily shifted, "Phew, I need a breather. We're close, but my muscles need a break."
"Take a moment to rest, Jacob. In the meantime, I can enjoy the view from up here. It's breathtaking!"
"Sometimes we forget about the incredible views surrounding us. Help me wipe the sweat from my eyes." With much more confidence in Usagi now, Jacob asked her for assistance.
After a brief rest, they resumed their ascent with renewed energy.
Usagi, seeing the surroundings, reminded Jacob, "Jacob, be careful with that slippery section. I would recommend using that rocky structure to your right for a better grip."
"I'll move over there, just wait a second."
Tension mounted as they approached the final goal.
Usagi, noticing the height they had reached, turned her gaze forward and said, "We're almost there, Jacob! Just a few more meters, and we'll reach the shelf."
At certain moments, Jacob made mistakes in his choice of holds or his positioning, but Usagi, with her keen eyesight and quick responsiveness, corrected them instantly. She became his guide, preventing him from making fatal errors during their ascent.
The wind blew strongly as they approached the shelf at the top of the structure. The height made them feel vulnerable, but it also provided them with a panoramic view of the place. The neon lights of the amusement park stretched out before them, like a sea of bright flashes in the darkness.
Jacob felt adrenaline pumping through his veins as he climbed higher and higher. The physical exertion mixed with a sense of exhilaration. He knew they were close to achieving it, to overcoming the trial and advancing in the deadly game.
Usagi continued to be his constant guide, ensuring they made the right decisions with each move. Their connection was deep, a perfectly synchronized teamwork. Together, they were defying the odds and pushing past the limits imposed by the game.
Finally, they reached the shelf, their goal almost achieved. Jacob gently put Usagi down on the ground and allowed himself a moment to contemplate their achievement. The view from up there was impressive, a testament to their bravery and perseverance.
Jacob raised his hand and collapsed to the ground, while Usagi also felt a sudden paralysis in her body.
"Whew... Now, how the hell are we going to descend from this place?"
"What does that matter when we've won?"
