Unknown Variables

In a room full of wires and other communication paraphernalia, Renaldo beside a Telephone, a prototype which he made with some of his R&D people. Renaldo is currently talking with Bonifacio about the situation regarding the mystical people of the spirit realm.

"My Lord, I hope that I wasn't intruding your rest seeing that it is already 9:00 pm in the evening but this is a matter of urgency" said Bonifacio in an agitated voice.

Renaldo quickly noticed his subordinate's unnatural tone and mellowed down his reaction, immediately judging that Bonifacio must have seen or experienced something unexpected. Renaldo is thinking if whether his general had some problems with the locals or if he encountered the Spanish Fleet prematurely, so despite his annoyance, Renaldo still talked calmly and said;

"It's alright Andres, if your matter is truly urgent, then it is my duty as your leader to help you on your current situation, so go on, speak freely and tell me about your current predicament."

Sensing that his Lord is not blaming him for his transgressions, Bonifacio calmed down a bit and took a deep breath, preparing to break the news towards Renaldo.

"The situation is like this my Lord, I have finally met with those people that you call as the Juramentados, or the immortals, everything you've told me about them are true, and they are truly brave warriors that cannot be killed through mortal means, I've secured a way for us to ally with them but there is a situation that I've encountered which is very peculiar and even to a certain extent, bizarre."

Renaldo was taken aback by Bonifacio's comment but still allowed his general to continue.

Seeing that his master didn't react violently towards his remarks, Bonifacio took a deep breath and let every emotion that he has boiling inside him as he pleaded towards the phone that he is holding and said;

"My Lord, I've seen it with my own eyes, I've felt and experienced everything that I'm about to say, but please, for the love of God above, please believe me! THERE ARE SPIRITS HERE! THE LEADER OF THOSE IMMORTAL MEN IS A SPIRIT! THEY ARE REAL! THERE ARE ENGKANTOS THAT RULE THIS LAND! THEY GAVE THOSE PEOPLE IMMORTALITY BUT AT THE SAME TIME TOOK THEIR SOULS! I'm a devout Catholic my Lord! But my beliefs are failing me! You've told me before this mission that those Juramentados are still human, that they can still be killed with high caliber firearms! But I've seen one that cut his own head and juggled it! I've seen dwarves, elves and various creatures that only exist in myths! MY LORD, PLEASE LET ME TAKE OUR SOLDIERS BACK AND FIGHT THE SPANIARDS WITH YOU INSTEAD, I DON'T WANNA DIE! I DON'T WANNA DIE!" Bonifacio said, visibly shaken and in the edge of his sanity.

Bonifacio is a brave and stoic man, at most times he is dumb, not the sharpest tool in the shed but will never back down against gunpowder and blood, but even the bravest of the brave will waver in front of something that cannot be explained.

Renaldo was shocked towards Bonifacio's news for it wasn't accounted for in his plans because based on history, the Juramentados are still humans, they are Moro swordsmen who have undying belief towards their God and uses a drug that enables them to not feel pain, they are holy warriors but they were still human, so what Bonifacio said took him by surprise, deep inside him, he doesn't believe anything that Bonifacio says but he knows that his Absolute Loyalty perk will never allow his men to betray or lie to him, so he's assured of the truthfulness behind his general's words, yet the true horror still lies within, why are the Juramentados under the jurisdiction of the spirits, and why are there spirits in this world?
