48 What is the missing link?

"Now that such minor trifles are out of the way, I think it's time to talk about our supposed alliance don't you think?" Asked Orion, smiling in front of Bonifacio, akin to a pervert looking at its prey.

"I love your straightforward attitude Chieftain, but before we start it I would first like to ask for a few days to send a letter to my master, because he was under the impression that we we're negotiating with humans, I would first like to let him know the intricacies involved before making a decision for him, I'm sorry but this is my stand Chief, my master first before everything." said Bonifacio while standing his ground, he will never make a decision as huge as this because he wants Renaldo to know about the whole situation.

"Alright child, but this offer of mine is only available for a few days at most, my spirits know that the Spanish are coming from the west, and I want a result before they come" said Orion, acting tough as if he doesn't have anything to gain in this negotiation, to give himself leverage.

"You can rest easy Chieftain, my master is someone who values time the most, you this won't take a week" Bonifacio said, confident of Renaldo's punctuality.

After saying those though, Bonifacio immediately excused himself out of the throne room and immediately went back to where his men are.

At the camp, late at night, Bonifacio returned to his men and immediately took action.

"Radio! where are our communications group Captain?!" asked Bonifacio in a frantic way, he still could not accept the current situation and is itching to ask his master for directions.

"They are on the way general! Most of them are sleeping general! My men are currently on their way to wake up the whole squad responsible for all communications!" said the captain, nervous because he has never seen Bonifacio as frantic his current iteration, even in the most intense battles and their most dire situations, Bonifacio has never shown him such attitude, the captain immediately thought that things are dire so he didn't sue for time and immediately ordered his men to get the communications squad.

After a few minutes, much to the credit of the Revolutionary Order's discipline, the squad is now in front of Bonifacio, ready to receive his orders, albeit they aren't wearing much clothing as they were rushed to the main tent.

Bonifacio looked at his men, satisfied because of their punctuality immediately told them that all of them will get rewards after the liberation of Mindanao and said;

"Code Red! I need to connect to the Leader or at the very least someone that can reach him immediately at this moment! This is of utmost urgency!"

"We will do our best sir!" said the men in unison, lively and inspired because of the rewards waiting for them in the future.

Renaldo is currently making the necessary foundation for his power armor and chainsword project, in the blazing heat that is the result of the emissions made by the machines necessary to combine Tungsten and Diamond, two of the strongest materials in the world. Renaldo is currently computing the adjustments that he needs to do in order to make the metal as light as possible, while also maintaining the needed durability and strength without compromising its flexibility, using his knowledge from the far future, Renaldo is currently in the zone, where everything around him is null and void, a moment of epiphany some might say, but is definitely a crucial point in his breakthrough towards one of the most abused war technology of his past lifetime.

A few hours have passed..

Renaldo is currently sporting a look of exhaustion, with a knot in between his eyebrows, and a look of confusion clouding his overall look is now seating in front of a piece of metal that is considered as the strongest metal in the world, Tungsten. Who would've expected that this madman wants to use this metal as an armor? This metal is known as one of the hardest and heaviest metals in the 21st Century but for Renaldo, as a man who came from a time far beyond that, it is one of the most crucial ingredients for a breakthrough in the metal industry in his past life, combining Tungsten and Diamond resulted in a material that can break through steel like butter and can also be used to tank explosions like it was nothing, which nullified nuclear warheads, thus making nuclear energy void in warfare but at the same time making it safe to use for daily life as a source of energy with the removal of the risks involved in its explosion. This material named God's metal also became the most flexible material without compromising its strengths. This material became the foundation of both warfare and the daily lives of people, resulting in a world that is completely dependent on it.

Renaldo mourned his inability to unlock the material in advance despite his epiphany. Renaldo feels like he just lacks something more, something that is treated as one of the mysteries of this metal in the past. The missing link that most scientists and the governent hid from the public, something that made the combination of the two hardest things in the world possible.

This missing link was extremely hard to find because Renaldo tried his best to know about it in his past life, all the power armors, vehicles and weapons that the revolutionary army stole and used back then were scrapped and tinkered yet they found nothing, even after they won the war, the files were all burned and all the personnel were killed by the past government to keep its secret, much to Renaldo and his men's chagrin.

While contemplating about his failure and thinking about all the possible solutions or temporary replacements to make a prototype, A loud knock was heard from Renaldo's door which startled him silly, a look of anger is visible from his face as he opened the door and said.;

"Didn't I tell everyone that I shouldn't be disturbed?!" Renaldo said, anger and frustration obvious from his voice and his facial expression, which scared the assistant researcher in front of him shitless.

"I-I'm sorry Master, but a call from Bonifacio came and he said that i-it was urgent and is code red so I came here to inform you, I apologize for the intrusion master" said the assistant, visibly shaken but stood his own.

Renaldo observed the teenager closely, and noticed his guts which made Renaldo satisfied, but Renaldo felt that it is unfair of him to judge the teen for just being a messenger so he said;

"I see, I apologize my child, it is my mistake and I was just too frustrated about my current project, I hope you don't mind. In recompense, I will assign you now as my personal assistant if you still don't have an official one yet, but before that, can you lead me the way towards our comms line?"

"Uhhh, yes sir!!!" replied the assistant, with visible glee because being Renaldo's assistant is one of the most prestigious positions in the R&D deparment! Otto and Benz were once his assistants and they are now the head of their own departments!
