Chapter 30 : The God of Monkeys

Karoi met up with Elara and told her the situation, about Varek and how he's the one who's helping the demon eye clan with their goal.

"I see..." she said. "This is growing to be more annoying.."

As they were walking down the street Karoi replied : "If that's so, why don't we simply just use one of your spells of locating him?"

"Can't. He's not only cloaking his presence but burnt all of his belongings before leaving Mirazora. To top this off, Mirazora and Zeus want to send out more Mages to remove the demon eye clan as they're anomalies in Zeus' eyes. I can see that he wants to remove them, I do, but... It'd be simpler if he sent a God to do it instead of me." Elara said.

Walking past the training field in the village, he saw Nova and Zankoku sparing and training whilst others were watching "I get what you mean, but it's because he's a shitty leader. All of this is happening because he doesn't want to get out of his chair and do something about it himself."

Elara faintly smiled and agreed with him.

"Come." Karoi said "Ignatius and the other leaders and plotting to take Greenthorn Village back so let's go to the briefing meeting. It seems that they've grown brains and will send everyone there, including the students with us."

Karoi called Nova and Zankoku and told the others to go too and they all left to the briefing.

Satoru arrived to Blaze Village and decided to kill some time as there was a few hours left until dusk.

He stood under a tree, remaining in the sunlight and reviewed the manuscript, checking the signs he has to perform, the descriptions of the abilities and et cetera.

It didn't seem difficult but now is not the time to do it. 

He looked inside the village and saw a much larger training field than Ember's. To kill time he went there to practice the technique of Shock Rods, one where he conjures lightning rods which he can throw.

He didn't find a way to use this technique in battle yet as he's been preoccupied though from the few days while recovering he thought about ways of implementing it into his arsenal.

The issue was that they were quite dodgeable, but had good range and the similar strength of Thunder Circus. It'd be best to use them as a distraction then.

Cloaking his hand with lightning, Satoru demonstrates that thanks to Storm Cloak he has very accurate manipulation of the part of the body he wishes to engulf with the lightning.

He placed his hand and began forming an orb made of thunder itself, an orb inspired by Zankoku's Wind Vortex ability. Doing that was possible but... The issue was the uncontrollable and kinda large flickers of lightning around him.

"Damn... Even when at 100%, I still can't focus it much better.."

He saw the closest tree and rushed at it, deciding to use the ability of the tree and check just how much damage it can do.

Hitting the tree, his entire arm cut through it and passed into it easily as the lightning cut through it first. It was an interesting sight and after a moment, the uncontrollable lightning began to flicker inside of the tree quickly and tremendously, cutting it up quickly from the inside too until the ability dispersed after a few seconds.

The tree then fell to the ground and it was quite a large tree...

"Hm.. I'll name it Lightning Flicker. Shitty name but I don't got any better ideas..."

Deciding to continue on mastering his other abilities as of right now, he set his mind on that.

Satoru trained.

The sun was setting and he got up after sitting down on the grass and headed to outside of Blaze Village. There he stood still, waiting until he saw or heard any sudden movements in the trees.

Minutes and minutes passed while he was leaning against the wall and his eyes began to slowly close as if he was about to fall asleep when suddenly a faint sound but a sound nonetheless was heard...

His eyes opened wide back up and he looked to see in the dark if he could spot anyone. Quickly but surely someone was moving by hoping from tree to tree.

Acting quickly, Satoru supercharged his axe and threw it where Hanuman would go and it landed in the tree. He couldn't see anything because of the leaves at first but in the following moment, a body with the axe in it's back dropped down and couldn't get up despite it's efforts. To top that off, he was getting shocked continuously by lightning as well.

The boy approached the body, slightly smiling. He noticed a long tail and a monkey face... No doubt this was Hanuman.

"R-Release me!" he yelled at the boy, being able to still turn his head left and right.

"Yeah... I don't think I will."

The books said that Hanuman was durable, practically immune to lightning though it seems that the exception of that was Satoru's axe.

"You're making a grave mistake boy! Don't do something you'll regr-" 

Satoru took out his tanto and stabbed him through the head, making his brain begin to leak out and blood come out of his ears, nose and eyes.

The energy of the beasts began to be irritated so he quickly took a jar and placed the energy inside, containing it before it's entirely released and wrecks havoc.

He stood up and as he was about to leave, about a dozen monkeys were there and from the other side, the forest side, was emerging a wild werewolf that found it's way here.

He took out the axe from Hanuman's struck back and placed it back onto his own, instantly rushing at the monkeys.

Satoru appeared in front of one who went to throw a punch, but he weaved his head, grabbed his arm, jumped up and locked his legs around his head with them both falling to the floor. Quickly, the boy twisted the monkey's arm and broke it.

Not stopping there, he lifted his leg a little and did an axe kick onto the monkey's stomach before rolling backwards and getting up.

The other monkeys helped the wounded one up and quickly escaped after seeing that.

Focusing on the werewolf behind him quickly, Satoru turned around and rushed at it, throwing punches at it but it didn't seem too dazed. 

It went for a downward clawing strike, so the boy backed up and lunged in front of it, jumped above it and unseathed the tanto blade he had which was made out of steel. Not silver, but it will have to suffice.

The werewolf started to claw up at the sky, so Satoru quickly threw the white lightning senbons at it and appeared right in it's face back on the ground, stabbing it with the tanto into the neck before it could claw at Satoru once again and killing it.

He pulled out the tanto and sheathed it back whilst the werewolf's body fell to the ground and made a thud.

"Unnecessary fighting but it is what it is."

"Hanuman was too easy to defeat... If he had used his abilities, they'd be something including lava manipulation and that would not be good to fight.. Oh well."

"Now on who to move onto next..."

Satoru gazed at the list, trying to determine who to kill next and set his sights on Hermes.

"Larkspur... I'll run to there, get some stamina training. Everything's been easy with this axe but I can't be getting lazy now before my prime years are to come."

"If I recall correctly... Larkspur Village is in Nimbu nation, on the far left of it. Luckily that's kinda a direct path from here so time to get a move on. But first..."

The boy went into Blaze village and found a working place where food is served and ordered something to eat. 

He was quick to finish the steak and salad and was sure to not order too much to not overeat. It cost him about 20 gold coin but it was worth it.

Satoru left the place and began to run to Larkspur Village.

"Yo Nova" said Zankoku whilst watching Kazumi and Jinn spar down below and explain to each other the best combo with only punches.

Nova slightly turned his head to him and asked : "Whats up?" still upkeeping his sight on the two in front of them.

"Do you think it's possible to become stronger than the Gods as a human, or even surpass them slightly if not greatly?"

"I don't see why not. How I killed Hades... It was as if I had all the power in my body, like I was boosted x100 until I did, but I was also so very bloodlusted and I couldn't control it... It's unexplainable, but yes. I do believe that it's possible." he replied.

Zankoku was silent for a moment "The Gods are still very strong and even if not only us end up surpassing them, it'll be the flow of the universe, the flow of the story one might say..."

"I agree."
