CHAPTER 29: FREYA

As it was the first day of the semester, everyone was busy talking and chatting. This day was extra special because classmates and friends were reminiscing about their vacation activities.

A group of students were whispering in a particular hall, and their topic was focused on a specific individual who had been on the top search during the holidays, Arianna Kendall.

Who hadn't heard of this young lady? She was a presence that made other girls envious of everything they had and wish they were the ones on the receiving end. This famous person, on the other hand, was constantly making headlines with her amusing news.

"I am glad I don't live with her; I nearly went deaf listening to my mother chastising me that if I ever act the same way Arianna did, she will personally send me to hell! Because of her, I didn't even get to enjoy my holiday. Why does she have to ruin my personal time?" Another girl with short brown hair complained as she looked at Arianna.

She was even more irritated when she noticed Arianna brushing everything around her as if she were the only living person in the classroom. What gave her the right to act the way she does? Did she have to be so arrogant when all she had was a wonderful family? There were so many people who were better than her, and yet she acts like a drama queen every day.

"Why are you wasting your time looking at her?" Another girl sneered as she looked at Arianna, who was currently playing with her expensive tablet. "Our noble lady is so high and mighty that she won't even look at you," another girl sneered.

"Let's not ruin our day with her. How about I tell you about this other guy I met while on vacation abroad?" the girl with blonde hair suggested, her big shiny eyes drawing her friends' attention back to their small group.

The three girls began to gossip about the guys, the shopping, and the travel, pushing Arianna to the back of their minds.

A young girl sat in the row in front of the girls, frowning as she listened to what they were saying. How could they be so arrogant as to blame others for their own misfortune? It was sometimes bad to be popular and famous because everyone could just pick on you because they couldn't afford to fight you directly.

Freya, Arianna's newly appointed friend, was the girl in question. She hadn't expected to see a different Arianna, but seeing her like that was the best thing that had ever happened to her on this holiday.

She wasn't one to mind other people's business, but she didn't like it when people preyed on others, especially when the target was easily deceived and gullible like Arianna.

Arianna was like a child who had never seen the world despite growing up in one. She was a child who had everything, but her naivety caused her to be easily duped by those around her.

People may be wealthy, but that does not make it acceptable to exploit them in this manner. Freya didn't like Arianna at first because most of these young ladies were aloof and everything they did was ridiculous. She didn't want to be associated with those types of people, despite knowing how beneficial it would be to befriend them.

She didn't want to be anyone's lackey; she wanted to be friends with someone on equal terms, and because she was so picky, she had been a lone wolf and never made any friends; that is, until she forcefully made Arianna her friend.

She would not have done it if Arianna had rejected her, but Freya had observed Arianna's lack of apprehension when she suggested it. At the very least, she won't be lonely any longer.

The other reason she wanted to befriend Arianna was that she wanted her to wake up and see the hypocrites around her. During the vacation, she saw so many wonderful things about her that she became a huge fan, and as a fan, she wanted to keep a close eye on her idol.

Where would one find such a strong-willed young lady who could eat so gracefully while also fighting for the poor and justifying food? She admired people like that and didn't want to see her fall for their schemes.

Freya, who came from new money and had experienced poverty in her youth, admired those who treasured every single grain of rice. Being wasteful could starve a country, and she didn't want that to happen to anyone else.

Freya's father was fortunate enough to win a lottery, and it was with that money that he was able to carry out his plans. Freya's father was a mechanic, and with the money he earned, he opened his first garage, and what happened next was simply amazing.

His fortune simply grew, and his company grew to the point where his father was a major player in the automobile industry. Her family no longer had to scrub for food, and she no longer had to beg and be mocked by other kids for wearing ripped clothes or living in a run-down house.

Her family's life had improved, and with her other siblings, it couldn't get any better. A university like the one she is attending was not something that just anyone could get into. It was a gathering place for the rich and famous, and if her status had remained as low as it had been about a decade ago, she would not have had the opportunity to be where she was at the time.

While your family history is important, your grades will also determine whether or not you will be accepted into the school's family. Freya worked extremely hard, studied extensively, and received extensive tutoring in order to ace the exam.

She did not fail her hard work; rather, she reaped what she sowed, and as a result, she is enrolled in this school. She was grateful, and because she didn't want to make a mistake, she kept up with her studies despite her wild personality.

This semester was no different; she wanted to maintain her good grades while also making new friends. She didn't want to lose her humanity or miss out on the experience of being a teenager, which only comes once in a lifetime.

Freya was so engrossed in her thoughts that when she arrived, the professor was already standing at the podium, welcoming everyone back. She gave a faint smile as she turned around to face Arianna, who was now seated straight as a ram's horn, her eyes brimming with vigor as she listened to the professor.

This was the first time Freya noticed Arianna being interested in anything related to classes. She was only there for the sake of appearances the previous semester; otherwise, she would have stayed at home and let her people deal with the rest.

Her eyes had the look of a student who was madly in love with school. Freya had a feeling this semester would be interesting, and with Arianna as a friend, it wouldn't be as boring as she had anticipated.
