CHAPTER 7 - TEARS

I woke up early. I didn't get enough sleep either. I was still missing cuddling up in my room at Himiko's house.

I went out of the room and found Lucas making some business calls. I didn't bother to greet him.

* * *

His maids picked up one of the best woven cloth from France for me.

"He wants to make my life hell? Doesn't seem like it..." I thought.

I walked out and Lucas was standing there at the middle of the hallway.

"Are you expecting someone?" I asked walking up to him.

"No"

"Then what is a busy mafia consigliere doing in the middle of a hallway?"

"I wanted to ask about the deal."

"What about it?"

"I think I have given a quite a lot of time for you to think about it..."

"My answer is still no."

"Don't you want to avenge your father?"

"I want to, of course but I want to avenge you more than him." I replied smiling.

"What's with the smile? Do you think you can manipulate me with that smile?" he said pushing me against the wall.

I held my breath. He came closer and I closed my eyes.

Lucas started laughing.

"Look at that face- You seem to be falling for me."

"I don't fall for a guy like you who killed my best friend." I replied kicking his legs.

I turned to leave when he called me from behind.

"What?"

"About the deal.... If you accept it, I will let you out of this place.

"No."

"Hey, you bitch. You should be grateful I am this kind to you."

"You let me out and then I will accept your deal."

"NO! I don't trust a girl like you..."

"Then no one's going anywhere."

"Fine! But I am coming with you."

"What?"

"You don't expect me to trust you, do you?"

"You are not coming with me."

"How dare you order me around.... you little piece of shit." he replied.

"Fine, I need to go to Himiko's house."

"Let's go"

"But what will you tell them about who you are?"

"Don't worry about that, let's just go."

We were about to leave when it suddenly started raining.

"Great!" I said annoyed.

"Now you will be double wet." Lucas said smiling.

"WHAT YOU PERV-"

"I am talking about your tears."

"Let's just go."

"I only got one umbrella."

"WHAT? I WILL CATCH A COLD."

"You shouldn't be worried about a silly cold when your life is on the line." Lucas said taking a gun from one of the desks.

Slowly, I followed him down the car.

* * *

I knocked on the door. There was no reply.

"Wait here, I will check and come." I said to Lucas.

Lucas stared at me with disbelief.

"HOW DARE YOU-"

"Just wait."

I went over to one of the windows and I saw her parents sitting at a corner scared.

I quickly signaled to them. They flinched back but after realizing it was me, they came closer.

They slowly opened the window.

"OH MY GOD, SAKURA!" Chizuhu san began.

"Shhhh."

"What happened?"

"I have a person with me right now..."

I took a deep breath.

"He is-"

"Hello, my name is Ken and I am the new assistant officer."

I turned back to see Lucas smiling.

"That bastard won't give me a break." I thought.

"Yeah! He is the new assistant officer in replacement of...." Tears sprang through my eyes.

"Dear... come in from the back door. Let's talk inside."

"Sure." I replied.

* * *

Himiko's parents sighed after closing the door behind them.

"Oh dear, we were so scared." they said to me.

"I know, I just got out from the mafia's house now." I replied in a serious tone.

"What happened?"

"I was trapped in that bastard's house and... somehow I escaped from that horror."

"Yeah, he is such a bastard." Lucas said looking at me with hatred.

"So, about Himiko.... w-when was the funeral?" I asked unknowingly.

"F-FUNERAL?!? Oh dear, she is still missing." Mrs. San replied blowing her nose.

"Wait, we can still find her then, right Ken?"

There was no reply.

"RIGHT?!?"

"Oh yes." Lucas replied clenching his fists.

"Dear, please find her as soon as you can. I don't know what I'll do without her. She is our only child."

"I know, we all love her! She is like my sister.... I will certainly find her."

"Thank you so much, dear."

I stood there for a little more minutes comforting them.

"So are you staying here or-"

"I think we should get going. It's getting pretty late." Lucas quickly said.

"But it's only 2-"

"Let's go."

I took my bag and walked towards the door when I stopped in my tracks.

I turned to face Mr. and Mrs. San.

"You know... there was this one thing my mom used to tell me. 'You maybe too far for my hands to hold you but you are too close for my heart to love you'."

They started crying.

"She is somewhere close by. I know it and we will find her. Don't worry." I said sobbing.

"Dear, thank you so much."

I quickly left the house.

* * *

"Why are you bringing me back to this shithole?!?" I asked Lucas sitting on the couch of the room quarters.

"The deal was to take you outside and I have achieved in doing that."

I scoffed.

"It does not mean just to take me outside. I WANT TO BE FREE!"

"You will never be free until the goal is accomplished," Lucas said pointing the gun at me.

"Not this again..... I am not a fool. You can't scare me with your toy gun."

Suddenly, Lucas shot the gun pointing at the chandelier above me.

My life flashed across me. I quickly turned away from the couch just in time.

It hit the ground shattering the glasses of the chandelier into pieces and one struck across my face.

"AAAGHH, I AM BLEEDING," I screamed.

"Agree to the deal," Lucas said demandingly.

"I-I agree."

"Great. We got a deal then."
