Jealousy

Alessia's eyes slowly blinked open, and she reached for the warmth of Zagreus' body beside her. The space was empty and cold, though the sweet scent of him lingered in the air. She sat up and looked around the room - he was gone.

She makes her way to the heart of the factory, where the others have gathered.

"Donn, how's the perimeter coming along?" she asks, sitting beside him.

"All clear. We have created a virtually impenetrable perimeter," he says, handing her a cup of tea. "No demon will be able to get past this without alerting us to its presence."

"Thanks," she says. "I just wish there was a way we could help those who are still out there. I feel so powerless."

"You're not powerless," Gabriel says, walking over to join them. "You just found a way to help the world. I would say that is pretty powerful."
