(A/N: I transferred my fanfic here because the one where I first posted it was a reused dropped novel, which means the setting of the book is still a novel so I might get flagged for copyright or something. So I transferred the whole thing as well as editing the stuff that I might find correcting or adding details.)

Chp. 54 Battle of the five or six armies? (2)

"You Majesty." Paul gave a small nod towards the Elven king.

"So tell me Gandalf, to what do I owe the visitation of such renowned individuals? Do you perhaps want to dissuade me from seeking war with the dwarves? I assure you, I will not leave until I get what is mine." Thranduil glared at the wizard.

"And you will get what you were owed after tomorrow. That much I assure you, but there are more pressing matters at hand." Gandalf said as he looked towards the Elven King.

"What would be more important than the heirlooms of my people wizard? Have you come again with rumors like thunder on a wild wind rolling from the distance?" Thranduil sipped his cup again as he looked at the four guest with cynical eyes.

"We hope so, but this time the storm has turned into a hurricane ready to sweep up the land and swallow it whole." Paul said as he attached a grave tone in his voice.

"He has returned your Majesty, the enemy has returned. Me, Elrond, Saruman and even the Lady Lorien herself had seem him. Her Lady had sent the enemy in retreat but his army is now on their way here." Gandalf's words made the Elven King pause and stand up in alarm.

"The deceiver!" Thranduil said as he realized who Gandalf was talking about.

"Yes and they will be here as the day rises. Tens of thousands of orcs and war beast now lumber towards the mountain." Bard said as he remembered Paul's prediction of when they will arrive.

"Impossible, they would have been spotted by my scouts a day earlier if they want to pass by the mountain. And before then I would have been done with the dwarves." Thranduil said as he had already placed sentries on the hills to watch out for the enemy army.

But just as he said this a small rumble was felt in the ground by Paul making him look down and press his hand by the earth. This made the others look at his actions with the elves the only one not sure what is happening.

"They are already near, two hours at most. Have your men pack up and shore towards Dale and be ready then, seems Azog has hastened the pace of the Were-worms." Paul did not care much anymore as he warned Gandalf and the others.

"Earth eaters?" Thranduil whispered and suddenly understood what that meant. "So you all knew this and did not warn me of such?!"

"We're here aren't we? I just warned you all, but I had thought we would have a few more hours extra." Paul did not wait anymore as he spread his senses to give a subtle message to the two Troll Kings lying in wait.

"Feren, dismantle the Camp and have every other elf stationed into Dale!" Thranduil waved his sleeve as we walked out while looking at Paul a bit angry since he understood they let him wait outside so he would not go away once the orcs arrive earlier.

"Bard go and have the people of Lake Town ready, also have the old, young and women shored up into the great Hall. Have Percy lead a group of archers to be stationed in the parapets facing the moat." Paul walked out with Gandalf and Bilbo following behind.

"Right away." Bard ran ahead as he avoided the elves that were in a hurry to take down the tents.

"Gandalf, you go back to Erebor, have Thorin and his best fighters ready to sneak out from the secret entrance. Since it is still open Azog will never think that you pass through that place to ambush him." Paul then whistled as soon as he was outside the open area.

"Ambush? Surely Azog will not let himself be trapped for such an easy ploy. And where would the pale Orc be if Thorin and the others are to prepare themselves?" Gandalf asked as he walked out.

"There, Ravenhill. That is where the other army from Gundabad will arrive if they want to choke out the dwarves from both sides." Paul then looked at the moat where the ice was breaking apart as something large is swimming underneath.

"From the south and the north, no wonder Azog was kept alive by Sauron." Gandalf was thoughtful as he looked at raven hill and then paid attention to the large thing breaking the Ice.

"That's his dragon, he rode one that does not breath fire and has no wings." Bilbo said towards Gandalf.

"An Ice Drake, hmm. Well I'll go get Thorin and the others to prepare." Gandalf then left towards the gates of Erebor after ten minutes of riding his horse.

"So, is there something I could do to help?" Bilbo asked as he was behind Gandalf as they walked inside, there they were greeted with Legolas beating Gloin in drinking contest.

"The orcs are near!!" Gandalf only needed to say these words and like magic all the dwarves sobered up as they suddenly went busy to clean everything up as well as put their armor on.

"Just in time! I was eager to get orc blood spilled by my axe!" Dwalin looked excited as he readied himself with the others.

"Has my father been notified?" Legolas asked.

"He is already taking measures in Dale." Gandalf said as he went to look for Thorin.

"Ravenhill." Gandalf said as he panted a bit to catch his breath.

"What?" Throin was confused.

"Ravenhill, that is where Azog will be. Assemble a team to ambush him to cut out the head of the snake, you can lead in front to make him focused on you while the team will circle back from the secret entrance to kill him." Gandalf made the dwarves pay attention.

"Uncle I'll go!" first to volunteer was Fili.

"Me too uncle!" Kili was not to be left behind.

"Best fighters eh? When do we leave?" Dwalin looked serious as he hefted his axe in his hands.

"Haha, cousin. I think I'll leave the commanding of my army to you, I want some of this." Dain laughed as he brought himself to volunteer.

"I as well." Legolas spoke up as he then handed Orcrist towards Thorin. "I believe this is yours."

Thorin looked towards the elven prince and received the sword making him sow a bit of emotion in his eyes.

"Then I shall go as well." Tauriel walked out from the corner as she stood by beside Kili giving him a bit of knowing look.

"It seems we have seven volunteers." Gandalf smiled as he looked at the people who volunteered.

"Seven?" The others was a bit confused but they saw Gandlaf smile and knew it was him.

"No, it has to be me. I should be the one to cut down that monster." Thorin said as he looked towards the others.

"Your people need you Thorin, it is better if you are the one to lead them." Gandalf said as he looked towards Thorin with a smile.

"I… *sigh* then promise me you will all come back." Thorin looked towards the volunteers and said this.

"Ha, we ain't soft soil cousin. Azog should be praying we make his suffering swift." Dain laughed as he looked at their new King. "Oye! Bring some Goats here will ya!!"

Then the seven people were now passing by some halls to arrive at the secret entrance, it was just large enough for the Rams to be able to pass through.

But as they were getting ready in front of the Gates of Erebor, as well as the elves in Dale who were able to swiftly position themselves in the Parapets and towers. A bone chilling howl reverberated all over the plains making those in the watch towers and scouts to look towards the open area in front of Dale and Erebor.

*AWOOO!!!!!!*

There they saw a tall bipedal were-wolf howl to his full voice as Dawn was about to break. The howl was able to be heard by the orcs setting up their command signals in Raven Hill, towards the mountains behind where the earth eaters started digging.

To the army of orcs preparing to get out from the tunnels, Trolls, Ogres and even the Wargs who became unsettled at the howl of the large were-wolf that seemed bigger than the largest trolls.

And as the howl echoed, other howls were then heard from plains beyond the mountain, from the forest near the lake and even from the Ice hills in the north.

"What is that?!" Alfrid was the one assigned in the towers with Percy to watch in the night and he was shivering in fear as he looked at the large figure standing in the open area.

Meanwhile, Bard and Thranduil arrived in the walls to witness this two as well as Thorin and company in the Gates of Erebor.

"T-that's very like how Beorn looked like." Bilbo said as he gulped his saliva in fear.

"So it is true, the Iron Lord is a Skin-changer. But I have never heard of a skin-changer like this at all." Thranduil murmured as the gigantic Were-wolf in the plains howled again.

"What is he doing? Is that a war cry or something?" Bofur said as he looked over towards the towering figure in the fields.

*Howl!*

*Howl!*

*Howl!*

*Howl!*

This time more howls answered and the whole mountains was filled with howls as well as many more animal voices.

*CREAK*

The large gates of Erebor opened and there the army of dwarves marched out with Thorin riding a Goat then the dwarves slowly made a tight formation in front.

Thorin could have taken the battle as a siege but that would not give the group of Gandalf and the others time to sneak behind the enemy leader.

He wanted to bait all the orcs to focus on the dwarves and the other army. And just as he and the dwarves were in position, the earth of the mountain nearby cracked and groaned.

*BOOM!!*

*CRACK!!*

There various heads of earth eaters popped out as a bugle was heard within Raven Hill making Thorin looked towards there. He glared hard as he saw the very distinct pale body standing within the broken tower up there.

But before the were-worms could retreat in the ground, four large earthen hands suddenly popped from the mountain wall and grabbed four of the large beasts.

*ROAR!!*

The whole area was suddenly shocked except for Paul as the two Troll Kings suddenly came out from their disguise and pulled the were worms out of the earth.

Thranduil, Bard, Thorin and even Azog was wide eyed as the two troll kings dragged the were-worms into a brawl making the earth rumble. But the Were-worms proved to be tenacious as they started winding themselves around the two Troll Kings.

This gigantic battle was brought to a farther corner while armies of orcs walked outside while feeling confused, why does it seems like the enemy was waiting for them?

"Co-come forth my armies!?" Azog was in Raven hill saying unsurely while looking at the orcs besides him.

Even he was not sure what to do suddenly but he adjusted as he saw that the two sudden gigantic monsters were brawling with the were-worms. Paul had made the two do that even when they could obviously kill the were-worms easily.

He wanted to capture the things to experiments on them obviously, but first he must put on a show. Paul in his werewolf form growled at the orcs streaming out of the holes and this time Azog ordered for trolls to engage him in a fight.

Paul saw four of such beings charging to him and he gladly fought them, this time he controlled himself and made it show that he could be kept busy. But this made Azog sacrifice a bit of Trolls and ogres to him.

The Battle suddenly started and the elves and men started raining volleys of arrows towards the orcs. But more kept coming out of the ground and there started a two sided siege with Thorin defending his position while some ballistae were placed on the gates to provide cover fire.

(A/N: Took quite a long break due to me trying to enroll my third year in college, even when I do not think my current course could help me in my interest in writing stories.

It's not even a literature major but more of in the industrial technology side, what am I even doing? I sure hell don't know so that is why I am asking, but please forget this part since I am just ranting myself here in webnovel.)
