Cries Amid Flames

Falcon had never been the one to entertain poetry. Some time ago though, when he had been hiding out in a library during one of the missions and bored out of his mind, had decided to pick up a book. It was a book of Rumi's poetry.

'"Set your life on fire. Seek those who fan your flames."' Rumi had written.

Well, both had come true for him, in his case. Falcon was sure Rumi intended it well.

But no poem had prepared him for what came next.

He zoned back into reality with a hiss of pain. It belonged to Aurelia, who gasped as the pants of her gear caught fire, the trail of flames licking up her leg as Falcon hit them with his singed jacket, the smoke making his eyes go blind. Just then the last of the chains fell to the ground and Aurelia was free, scrambling up and pulling him with him.
