Chapter 4 Heist On The Hob

A little altercation with pimply Mary. I gave the woman what she wanted, a rare pink spotted rabbit. But suddenly, Pimply Mary refused to trade the pink spotted rabbit for the white cat I so desperately wanted.

"Don't you want that rare rabbit? I've brought you something amazing, exchange this rabbit for this white cat," I said angrily, pointing to a poor white cat tied up in an iron cage.

Mary, the pimply woman, chuckled, her face showing cunning. "No. I want more than a pink spotted rabbit. I won't give you this most luxurious white cat just in exchange for a rabbit."

"But I already brought a white rabbit with pink spots. Can't I trade it for the white cat?" I tried to convince Mary that she had acne.

"No. I changed my mind. I want another rare animal that will definitely have a higher price."

It wasn't me who banged the table and became the center of attention in the kitchen, the culprit was Lyra. The girl with the braided hair became emotional, her sharp eyes glaring at Mary, the woman with the acne.

"Are you playing with us?!"

"Hey, calm down, little girl. There's no need to yell like that," Mary said, the acne woman looking calm. The pimply Mary lit a cigarette, the smoke made me cough a little, but it didn't stop Lyra's anger.

"You said it yourself at the beginning, you already got what you wanted. So you must keep your promise." Lyra was fiery, her eyes filled with anger.

At least I don't have to drain my emotions, I already have someone to represent my anger.

The debate is endless, a waste of time. Mary, the woman with acne, doesn't want to lose either. Increasingly stubborn and very cunning, she wants other rare animals, there are always illogical reasons that make Lyra even angrier.

"CLICY FOX! BITCH!" The girl's anger couldn't be contained, so much so that she let out an expletive.

"Who are you calling a sly fox?!"

"Certainly someone in front of my eyes!"

She couldn't let it go any longer, she didn't want Lyra to waste her energy just serving Mary with acne. I already had my trump card, something that made Mary, the pimply woman, give up on trading the white cat for the white rabbit with pink spots that I had caught.

Even though I don't want to, with the threats I have. Mary, the woman with acne, gave me the white cat.

"Daddy won't like it if you play tricks on me, if you do sneaky things." I remained calm, but threatened to take my father's name. Mary, the acne woman, looked angry and frightened. His mischievous face immediately disappeared.

Father was very famous in Hob, not only in Hob, but very famous in the Hill Valley district. A hunter and the strongest magus, the hero. The people of Hill Valley County are very lucky to have a great figure like my father, even though there are inequalities and injustices in every county. My father was like a hero who always helped the poor people of Hill Valley.

If only I could be like my father, but I don't want to be praised because I want to be strong and admired. I want to become the strongest magus like my father and protect the people of Hill Valley, the district where I was born.

With just a little bluff, Mary, the woman with acne, was willing to trade the shaggy white cat for two white rabbits with pink spots.

Their fur is very smooth and soft, even though they have been locked in an iron cage for so long. The white cat I hugged was very clean. Gisella will be very happy, even if it won't cure the sadness of losing Zeo. l At least I gave her a birthday present and an apology for yelling at her earlier.

There was a commotion, my head went everywhere to find the source of the commotion. "It's over there." Lyra pointed at the crowd. There was noise and yelling in the crowd. Someone was pushing through the crowd.

A pale girl pushed through the crowd, hugging the lump so tightly. There were more than five people, mostly grown men, running after the girl. The five men chasing her cursed, causing chaos throughout the Hob. The girl threw various things, dodging and avoiding them so easily. But that didn't stop the girl from running.

The girl continued to run until she came directly in my direction, crashed into Mary's sharp-toothed squirrel cage, and fell to the ground. The acne woman cursed and became angry. Mary grabbed the cage before the squirrel slipped through the open cage door.

The pale girl slumped on the dull floor, her head lifted. Those bright eyes looked back and forth between me and Lyra.

"Hey, give me back my stuff, you thief!"

Five grown men ran behind her. The slumped girl, who might have stolen something to get in trouble, had her small hands wrapped around the lump of cloth in her arms. The look on his face was worried and confused.

But it was a very quick second. My face turned hard and I stared at the girl who was pointing a sharp dagger at Lyra's neck. In an instant, without my realizing it, the girl had taken Lyra hostage.

I prepared a bow and arrows in case the girl hurt Lyra. At close range, I could see that the girl's face was pale white. No, the lips look pale, there are bags under the eyes.

How long has the girl not slept to have bags under her eyes? Her long black hair was half tied up and the rest was loose.

My arrow was aimed at the girl with the piercing black eyes. The pale girl was angry and threatened anyone who tried to approach her. Even though I'm facing a girl, I won't hesitate to act if someone wants to hurt Lyra.

"Give me back my things, you thief!" I turned to the source of the voice. A fat man with black skin and a hunting hat was staring at the pale girl who was holding Lyra hostage. But I didn't let go of my arrow at the girl.

"I won't." The pale girl remained unyielding, her sharp eyes fixed on the fat man. They exchanged sharp glances.

I didn't care if the pale girl was injured or died, but I was really worried about Lyra, who looked very calm. There was not the slightest fear or worry when the sharp knife was pressed against her neck. If it was the slightest mistake or if the pale girl couldn't concentrate. The sharp knife was about to cut Lyra's neck.

"DON'T COME ANY CLOSER!"

My anger grew as I watched the knife press ever closer to Lyra's neck. My arrow prepared to shoot straight into the girl's head, no longer hesitating to kill humans. Before my arrow entered the pale girl's head.

Lyra elbowed the pale girl hard in the stomach, causing a small groan. Turning, Lyra twisted the pale girl's wrist lightly, causing the knife she was holding to fall to the ground.

The pale girl did not accept her hostage's resistance. Having been stripped of his weapons, and armed only with his bare hands, he attacked Lyra.

Behind the crowd, a duel broke out between the two girls. I put the arrow back in the bag with the quiver I had brought with me. I didn't care about the fat man who was calling for the crowd to help him take something the pale girl had stolen.

The crowd formed a small circle with Lyra and the pale girl in the center. There is nothing I can do. When it's like this, Lyra excels in martial arts.

Every blow the girl threw, Lyra parried easily. Lyra's body was very flexible and light, easily dodging to avoid the opponent's attacks, making it difficult for the pale girl.

A very hard kick hit the pale girl's head, knocking her to the ground. The girl was unconscious. The crowd applauded, some whistling. My smile was etched into my face. Lyra smiled proudly to herself.

To be in the arena and to defeat her opponent so easily. My head shook slowly. Looks like I don't have to worry about this girl, Lyra has her own uniqueness and of course her mind magic power is superior to mine.

"You lowly thief. How dare you steal my valuables." The fat man pushed the crowd aside and took a shiny silver plaque from the package the pale girl had hidden. I could clearly see the carving of a woman with her wings outstretched. A woman with wings and glittering gold, the symbol of the Kingdom of Andalus.

Questions came to my mind. Why did this pale girl steal the royal silver plate? I know very well that royal medals, especially gold ones, indicate the status of a high noble.

The fat man was not of noble lineage. Most of the royal nobles were characterized by their pure white skin, unlike the fat and dark-skinned man.

The fat man had gotten what he wanted, but I didn't like the way he kicked the unconscious pale girl in the head. I screamed and the fat man ignored my screams and kicked the pale girl's body even harder.

My arrow was aimed at the fat man. "If you hurt that poor girl again, I won't hesitate to shoot my arrow at your head."

I'm not playing around. At first, I was angry at the pale girl who had taken Lyra hostage, but I saw that the pale girl's condition was not good. Even Lyra was hit hard, the girl was unconscious and the fat man was unconscious. The man, with no sense of pity, hit a defenseless girl.

They were bullied and threatened. The fat man left the crowd, but not without moving his mouth and cursing.

"You strange old man!" Lyra vented her frustration. There was no thanks, but instead he vented his frustration by hitting the poor pale girl.

I took the cat, which I had previously entrusted to a kind, white-haired old woman who had known me for a long time. Not like Mary, the woman with the acne, whom I have known for a long time, but whose cunning nature has not disappeared yet. Ranting here and there, asking for responsibility, because of the commotion that made a mess of his stall, the animals he sold were traumatized.

Lyra has to argue again with Mary, the woman with acne, asking for compensation. The woman was very cunning, demanding compensation many times the price.

There was nothing I could do but pick up the body of the pale girl lying unconscious on the dull floor of the Hob. The pale girl wasn't that heavy when I lifted her body, but there was something strange. I could feel my hands getting wet. When I saw what I saw, the thick liquid was red and had a fishy smell. This is blood.

Sorry, because the conditions didn't allow it, so I wasn't optimal while writing.
