Bai shook his hand off and sighed, pulling his tie as he felt it suddenly get tight from all his anxiety. He hoped Lai would be okay. Meanwhile, Kemina and Lai's tension had thickened.
"Oh, Lai, you really are naïve, aren't you?" Kemina smirked, "Do you honestly believe that Bai came here out of some sense of obligation?"

"Oh please get off your fucking high horse," Lai scoffed, placing her champagne glass on the table, "Bai couldn't wait to get away from you. And who could blame him after all your lies and deceit?"
Kemina's temper flared at the statement, her fingers curling into fists as she took a step back, her eyes flashing with fury, "Why you-"
"That's enough, Kemina! I won't stand here and listen to any more of your shit," Lai burst out and then leaned in to whisper in her ear, "Bai may have his faults, but he's not the monster you make him out to be. At least he didn't cheat on you."
