Chapter 5

I was seated at the dining table as Dalia served me breakfast. "Thank you, Dalia," I replied with a smile. She smiled back at me and sat beside me with her share of breakfast. "Good morning beautiful ladies" Xander greeted with a cheeky smile.

"You're quite energetic today" Dalia commented on Xander's sudden change of attitude. "I am...I had quite a good sleep" He mentioned as I blushed and choked on my food. "Ariana, Are you okay?!" Both Xander and Dalia came forward with a glass of water in their hand.

"Ahem, I am good. Thank you" I said and turned my focus to the food. Just then, "Oh such a lovely family time. Am I interrupting?" A male voice came from the door. A guy probably Xander's age with brown hair, dark brown eyes and looks quite good that could impress any girl. But he was still uncomparable to 'my Xander'.

"Tyler'' Dalia chimed. "Come join us for breakfast" Dalia offered as she began to serve the guy named 'Tyler' some breakfast. "Thank you for your grace, '' Tyler replied. " Oh Please, Call me Dalia Tyler. I have told you many times '.

"Yes your grace, I mean Dalia," Tyler replied. "And this lovely lady is?!" "Oh. Meet my mate, and you're soon to be Luna. Ariana" Xander spoke this time.

"Wait, you found a mate? And you didn't even tell your best friend?!" Tyler said slightly, being angry at Xander.

"Anyways, Welcome to Knight Riders, Your grace! I am Tyler, Xander's best friend and a beta of this pack".

"It's a pleasure meeting you Tyler. Please call me Arianna" I introduced myself.

"So when is the ceremony?!" Tyler asked Xander.

"Ceremony? What ceremony?" I asked, confused, looking at Xander. He turned towards me. "It's like a wedding, but mostly for me to officially be in charge". Xander replied.

"He'll be taking his rightful throne. Once he has Luna by his side" Tyler added.

"Throne?!" I was confused.

"You're a prince?!" My eyes are wide with my question.

"He is...".

"I am not" Xander cuts Tyler off in the middle.

"It's just a small tradition. You don't have to worry about it. It'll take place once you've agreed".

I looked at Xander wanting to ask him a lot of questions because we had company. I kept them to myself.

"I have to leave for a moment, I'll be back later. Enjoy yourself here" Xander bid us goodbye as he kissed my forehead and left the dining room with Tyler.

....

"You have something in mind," Dalia asked once we were seated in the lovely garden filled with beautiful lilies and roses. "I...I don't know where to start" I replied having a lot of thoughts about the conversation we had in the dining room this morning.

"You need not worry. You have a lot of time and I know Xander will be happy to answer every one of them." Dalia smiled. "Well, I could enlighten you about some details," Dalia said and turned towards me. "I would love to hear about it" I replied and straightened myself ready to listen.

"Knight Riders was once a lovely Kingdom. Ruled by the greatest king and his Queen. It was a lovely Kingdom where people lived in harmony, Their abilities were far more advanced than any normal wolves you'll meet."

"That explains the great speed and strength," I said, remembering how Xander runs faster than any normal wolf even in his human form.

Dalia smiled and nodded. "The king and queen had a daughter. She was beautiful, kind, honest and most of all she was a person with great ability. The king and queen were always worried about her so they adopted a girl to be a friend to the little princess. They both were loved and treated equally. No one dared to say anything to the adopted daughter because she was also taken as a Princess."

"But one day, Everything changed. It was the Princess's 18th birthday when she was kidnapped and till now no one knows what happened to her." Dalia sighed.

"What about the king and queen?!" I asked curiously.

"They died shortly after Because they couldn't take on their shoulders the responsibility of losing a child. Even though the adopted daughter tried everything to help them. They left her all alone to bear the responsibility of the throne".

"Where is she then?! The... adopted Princess?!" I asked in all seriousness.

"It is I, who you're looking for," Dalia replied, smiling.

My eyes widened in shock. "You... You're the princess, I mean your grace." I said respectfully.

Dalia laughed, "We do not welcome the traditions of the palace. As the rightful heir was not found. I...have decided not to take it upon my shoulder and treat my people respectfully and equally."

"That's very kind of you Dalia," I said.

"Well, it's all thanks to Xander now that this place is prosperous and people are in harmony." Dalia reclaimed.

I was confused. "What do you mean?!" I asked uncertainly.

"Well, that story is for Xander to tell. I might take my leave" Dalia replied as she got up and made her way inside the house, Or should I say the palace.

....

It was already evening as I still couldn't help but think of Xander being a prince. Even though Dalia denied it. The people here still respected them and Tyler's behaviour this morning proved it. I couldn't help but think if I would be able to be their luna. I haven't even had my first fight. The people here didn't even know who I am and how I am. How can they accept a person without anything like their special abilities to be their luna.

I was quite busy dwelling on my thoughts that I didn't hear the door open and close. "Ahem."  I looked at the voice and saw Xander standing in front of me.

"Is something wrong?!" He asked. "No nothing. I was just thinking of some... things" I replied as he sighed and squatted down in Infront of me.

"Arianna. Do you trust me?!" Xander asked, looking deep into my eyes. Even though I knew Xander for a few days, even though we didn't spend a lot of time together. My heart and my soul never once thought that he is a bad person or he would do something that would hurt me.

I nodded my head to Xander, confirming to him that there's nothing in this world that I would trust more than him.
