Chapter 1

I opened my mom's diary once again. Turning the pages lightly as feathers, I tried to draw a picture of them in my imagination, when they were younger. And every time I did, it always made me smile.

I am 'Ariana Marcel'. Daughter of 'David Marcel', Alpha of the Moon pack. David Marcel, my dad was the only remaining real blood 'Lycan' and was an honoured man. He had fought many battles at a very young age and brought glory to our pack.

As the king and one of the heads of the founders. He was loved and missed. He died at a very young age because of Cancer. And my mother 'Anne Marcel' was left broken to take care of the pack.

My mom came from an exotic land. And her powers were mystical as always. But her kindness and wisdom won over the pack as she became the chosen Luna of the pack. Not only that, the story of my parents falling in love was known to everyone.

"Ariana" My mom called. I closed the diary and placed it under my pillow as I made my way toward the door.

"Happy birthday Arianna" My mom chimed with happiness as she hugged me tightly. I smiled and hugged her back. "Thank you mom".

Today was the day that I turned 18. And today was the day I was finally able to shift for the first time. Everyone, all my friends have already shifted at the age of 15 but I was special as my mom described it.

Because my mom also turned when she was 18, She told me this was normal and I would shift slowly as I shouldn't rush the process. "Are you excited for today?!" My mom asked, her eyes glistening with love and hope.

I nodded my head as a yes. I was excited to see a different part of me. I was more than excited but mostly I was Scared. Because I have heard stories of my dad's first shift and how he had killed almost 20 big bad wolves in the process. I don't want to carry the guilt of killing someone.

"Let's get you something to eat" my mom spoke up before walking away towards the kitchen as I followed her. I pulled a chair and sat down at the dining table as my mom served me my favourite pancakes. "Thank you, mom," I said with a smile. 

I was devouring my Pancakes when the door burst open and a very excited Elena came running toward me.

"Happy birthday Ariana '' She chimed, Hugging me from behind. "Thank you but you're squeezing me" I replied like I was about to die. My mom laughed at us as Elena sat beside me stuffing herself with some pancakes as well.

"So what's the plan?" She asked. To which I replied "College" As I got up from my seat and carried my bad. "You're so boring Arianna, Come on let's do something fun today at least". 

"You could always have a party," my mom said, backing up my best friend. 

"No mom, I don't like crowds" I replied before pulling my friend out of her chair. "Come on we'll be late for classes, Bye mom," I said, kissing my mom on her cheeks and leaving the house. "Bye has fun" I could hear my mom shouting from behind.

Elena pulled her car Infront of me as I sat beside her and she started driving. Today was different and I could feel it. I took a deep breath as I felt excitement pulsating through my nerves.

After a hectic day of classes and all, it was already 5 in the evening, and I was tired as hell. Elena on the other hand seemed to be pretty energetic. Damn how she did that, I thought to myself. 

As we made our way towards our usual spot, the cafe near the school. I was drained and out of energy. Elena, therefore, pulled me inside the cafe. "Please can I have a glass of water?" I asked the waitress

Just as I took my seat, Everyone shouted, "Happy birthday Arianna". And I thanked everyone. 

"We should celebrate, don't you think?" Jayden, the son of our beta, also Elena's brother, said.

"Why don't we go out tonight?" Rose replied. She's Jayden's girlfriend as well as his mate.

"Where?!" Asked Tom. He's the funniest in our group. Also, I think Elena kinda likes him.

"I heard there's a new club that opened weeks ago, why don't we go there?" Elena spoke out.

As everyone agreed. "Guys I am worn out" I replied, drinking the glass of water the waitress had just brought over. "Oh come on, it's your birthday Aria," Jayden said.

We all have been friends from childhood as we all were from the same pack. Jayden and Rose started dating a year ago as Rose had just shifted and got to know that Jayden was her mate.

"Pretty please," Elena said, showing her puppy eyes. As I can't talk to her anymore, I agreed.

"Yea!!!!" Everyone chimed!

Elena has been dressing me since the moment we arrived and I swear to god this is more Tiring than school. "I am tired Elena '' I said for the 10th time. "Fine fine lasts one," She said, shoving me a black short sleeveless dress. I groaned as I took it from her and went to change.

"Whoa.....You look amazing" My bestie chimed. I swear I was two seconds away from snapping her head. "Great then," I said, looking at myself in the mirror. The dress was indeed looking good on me. It fitted me exactly in the places and complimented my curves.

Thankfully, I was happy that I didn't have to change anymore as it was already 8. So we made our way towards the hall. "Where are you guys....." My mom stopped speaking as she saw me in the dress.

"You look, lovely baby," She said as she came closer and kissed my forehead. I smiled and said a small thank you.

"Okay let's go before we're late". Elena spoke.

"but..." 

"I'll be back before 11, So Don't worry mom" I replied. She must've been worried as I am to shift tonight after midnight.

She nodded her head as permission for us to leave.

I have never been to such a place before and this was my first. We entered the club, where our friends were already waiting for us. But as soon as I step foot inside, Something happened, Something in the pit of my stomach. My heart started racing as I couldn't move. Even though my lungs were stuffed with air, I couldn't breathe. I looked around to see what was happening. And then I met them, A pair of blue eyes glistening with love, lust, hope and confusion.

And there it was...When I knew he was none other than my "MATE".
