Chapter three:
"How you playing this whole game with me Lena?"
Eddy asked. I chuckled cause he was the only one that called me Lena. "But listen Eddy I'm not playing any games. I'm for real. This guy Jeremiah I keep dreaming about him". "Maybe it's your future husband whoooo whooo my crystal ball reads." "Shut up Eddy why we talking on the phone? Just come over you live next door." "See I can't I am at the school flair we planned and organized together but someone decided to bail on me". "I am sorry you know why I did with my dad and everything and my episodes keep happening". "Wait now you didn't tell your episodes were happening again. Why didn't you tell me Athena?!" Eddy said seriously into the phone. I heard someone yelled him to get to work in the background. "Listen...Athena I got to go. Please. Please tell me everything when I get back". He clicked the call off and I began to finish my drawing. I was drawing my father with angel wings. The wings looked strong and graceful. All the sudden a black crow flew through my window breaking it in front of me. Fortunately my mother wasn't home to freak out but I texted her to let her know what just had happened. I went down stairs to get the broom and garbage bag to clean the mess. Expect when I returned to my room the crow disappeared. I could of swore it was dead it didn't move at all.
•High school fair Eddy's story •
"Umm hello, are you the greeter??" "Oh yes I am indeed I am Edison LongThorne, who might you be?" "Oh I am Jeremiah TomHeart nice to meet you sir". "Ummm follow me I'll so you around for your tour at your new high school." "Masonwood high was founded in 1964 as you could see at our memorial of our founder of our town masonwood in 1687..." "don't mind me asking, but how are the people here? Is it easy to make friends?" "The atmosphere is nice here. Friends are easy to come by." "Who are your friends?" "Well I have a bestfriend her name is Athena Moore, and Isabelle Smith, and Haven Collins." "Awwww sounds like nice people." "Everyone is nice around here." "I am wondering about the AP biology course? It is hard?" "Sadly I wouldn't know only my friend Athena would she's the only one in that class". "Not ture I signed up for that course myself this year". "Interesting....say that necklace with that ring looks fancy." "Yes it was a family heirloom from greatest grandfather know in the books the original Jeremiah TomHeart, its a tradition to give the first born son this necklace and the name". "Awww I see. Sorry to end the tour but I have to clean up the fair". "I'll come help plus I need to get to know everyone around here anyway." "There is no need, go home and get you're rest, big day tomorrow"
*ring*ring*.... "hello?" "Athena guess what?" "What Eddy??" "I just met a guy named Jeremiah TomHeart!" "Oh no it can't be tell me what he looks like!" "A little taller than me well built sculpted butt strong jawline, crystal blue eyes. And Darkest black hair you could see and he was fairly white. And eyebrows like a goddess but those cut things that indicate a gang sign you know?" "I swear Mr. LongThorne I think I just diagnosed you super gay for what you just said 'sculpted butt'" I said trying so hard not to laugh. "Athena anyways. I'm not gay I love some one I love a women." "Oh really who's this mystery women you always talk about anyway?" "I can't say!" "Why not Eddy Weddy". "Cause it would ruin this!"he said then hung up. I swear everytime I ask I trigger his inner demons.
All the sudden I hear the door open and two people walk in. "Athena!" my mother yelled. "Yes?!" "Came help our new neighbor!" "Alright". I walked down to see a hot handsome jaw dropping man. A sweet sexy body and a handsome face. And his eyes took you away like the sea. He came over and smiled and introduced himself "Hi I am Jeremiah TomHeart you're new neighbor down the street and classmate." He said winking. My mom pulled me over and nudged me to get his number. "I don't need much help ma'am just my car broke down." "That's alright sweetly." "I honestly wouldn't expect me coming back here" he said as he walked to his car propped in the air. "Why is that?" My asked handing him the wrench. "Well I didn't expect my parents to die in a fire and to watch over my sick uncle in his house down the street." "Oh I see, we are having a homemade dinner tonight if you would like to come over? You can bring your uncle" my asked eagerly. "That would be lovely, my uncle is in bed rest in the hospital it would just be me, if that is okay?" "Oh course darling". "Sweet thank you so much. I really appreciate it ma'am". "Please call me Jesse, and this is my SINGLE daughter Athena Moore...and offff ohh ouch" my mom said clenching my arm in pain as her water broke. "GET THE LONGTHORNE'S". Just as she said that eddy pulled up in his car. And came rushing over. He ran over screaming to his parents "Luka is coming Luka is coming" Ellen and William ran out so fast. The started the car and Jeremiah and Eddy helped my mom into Ellen's car to drive her to the hospital. William told us to stay there and will call as soon as possible.
"Anyone hungry?" Jeremiah broke the silence between us three. "I can eat a cow!" I said, and Eddy agreed. "Well how about pizza on me? For a thank you for you Eddy for helping today with the school tour?" "You sure?" I asked. "Yea I don't mind plus a great way to get a friendship started." He replied. We all headed in my house and I got stuff ready for my mom when she brought the baby home. Jeremiah ordered two large extra cheesy pizzas. We ate and chat and laughed.
"So tell us more about you TomHeart." Eddy demanded. I looked directly at him to hear his answer for that I was so curious he seemed like a mystery that I want to solve. "Umm well I am seventeen years old I just moved back from Mississippi to take care of my uncle who's in the hospital his house is down the street and my parents died not too long along in a house fire. Now I'm here starting new and fresh I shouldn't let the past dwell on me too much. I just want to move on find love and begin life." "Find love?" I asked while creepy staring at him with a little smirk then Eddy nudged me in my side and gave me a disappointing look. "Yea yea, I am one of those long term relationship guys. I love them and I believe in finding our soulmates." "Oh really me too!" I said smiling and blushing. "So any siblings?" Eddy interrupted "None that I know of I have always been a only child" "Oh that's cool sadly I'm the little brother I have an older brother Stephan". "And I have Luka....when he arrives in the world I guess". "7lbs and 3oz" I said out loud showing them a picture of my baby brother. They both agreed that he was cuter than Jeremiah.
"Eddy? Your parents want you spend the night here. They are taking a trip to your aunts." "Okay sure thing." "So are you two like dating?" Jeremiah asked. "Oh heck's no I'm single as a Pringle we were raised like brother and sister." I replied and I saw Eddy's face turn gloom and distraught. I don't understand why he was so unhappy me finding interest in the dating realm. I would have to talk to him about it. Later that night around 9:00pm Jeremiah left, and Eddy seemed happier.
"Oh Romeo oh Romeo where art tho Romeo!!" He said falling to the floor pretending to die. "Shut up ass!" I said throwing a pillow and messing up his shaggy red hair. "why you like that guy any way?" "sound like someone is jealous." "I am not! He just seems like a weird guy that's all." "My mother knew his father." "Doesn't mean you can trust him Lena" he said giving me that serious look like as if he was my father. "Listen Eddy you're not my father and don't act like you were" I said walking away upstairs to get blankets. "Lena I don't trust that guy." "You don't trust anyone do you?" "Stop it! I trust you and Isabelle!" "Whatever" I slammed the door, and ignored him till he knocked on the door because he made me ice cream with whip cream and caramel and walnut and chocolate ice cream, personally my favorite. Eddy always knew how to make it up to me when we fought.
"Eddy get me the buck tape I forgot to fix the window." "Sure thing". "Thank you". "What happen?" "A crow flew in and broke it." "Oh so tell me about your episodes". "Ummm well I was in the woods again I keep hearing a man call my name." "Again? Yea expect this voice sounds familiar." "Like who?" "Who could it be." "I am not sure." "Tell me more about." "Well in the woods I hear the voice and I look down and I am covered in blood and I hear two steps of footsteps." "That wild what do you think it means? Maybe your past is haunting you" He said making like a weird ghost movement with his hands. I chuckled and lied in my bed recalling back to that day.
All I remember was the wolf or werewolf it seemed to be and feeling thick warmth down my throat and my father doing CPR on me. Then staring through the trees into the wholes through the leaves and rays of light hitting me. I heard a gunshot and a pout from a animal. It's odd I never knew what really happened to me just a wild dog attack.
"Goodnight". "Goodnight Lena" He said then clicked the lights off.
I dreamed a wild dream that night. Jeremiah was in the woods that day that specific haunting day. He was on top of me feeding me his blood. Then he straggled and attacked that giant wolf. I woke in terror, grabbed in my teddy bear. Then my mother called and updated about my brother. She laughed at me because of my sleepy voice.
"Yes honey I'll be home in two days. Ellen will take you to school back and fourth. See you soon say hi to Luka!" "Hiiiii widdle brother!" I said falling back into my pillows and hung and threw my phone down and slept like a rock.
I woke up without my voice the next morning. I looked at the clock it's read 5:46am I knew I had to get up and get ready for school. I lied down and took in a big sigh. Then Eddy threw a pillow at me and told me to get ready. I got up looked in the mirror and noticed that my hair was nappy and half of it was in the hair. I brushed my hair and put on my olive green shirt and blue jeans with a brown sweater. Then I put on my brown uggs went to brew coffee. "Someone looks full of energy today!" Eddy said while freaking bacon. "Shut up! I had a nightmare of my episodes last night". "Oh jeez do tell me" He said staring at me with his brown eyes. Then a knock interrupted his weird soul gazing thank god it did.
It was Jeremiah he smiled deeply you could see it in his eyes when I opened the door. "Hey I was wondering if you two would a like to school?" "Sure why not?" I said trying to hide my blushing cheeks. "But my mom was taking us." "She isn't home your parents car isn't here plus we have twenty minutes!" "Okay I'll shoot them a text let's go!" Alright follow me you two". He said while opening the passenger for me. Then he opened the door for Eddy.
"Did you know our parents knew each other?" I said trying to start conversation and break the silence. "Ummm no I didn't. Your mother is Jesse Miller, well Moore." "Yes." "Interesting". "I have met her before." "When?" "When I was younger." "Cool." "We are here" Eddy interrupted. I laughed and smiled at Jeremiah as I got out the car and walked to home room. For some odd reason I feel him staring at me as I walked further away from him.
