Chapter-8 Max Meets Everyone

I was about to ask Max to let Oliver go and the reason for his behaviour but Oliver said, " There are a lot of people here. Let's talk privately."

Max only said, " What are you doing here? " Then he looked around at saw everyone gaping at them then said, " Ok, lead the way." I got worried about them

" Max, Oliver, please don't fight. I don't want my friends to fight each other." , I said, grabbing Oliver's sleeve.

Oliver said, " Don't worry. We won't fight. We are also friends."

And they left.

I heard whispers all around me. They saying things like' What is the deal with the boy Laura brought? Does he know Oliver? Why did he grab Oliver 's collar?

On seeing this ruckus I anounced, " Ok guys, everyone calm down. Oliver said they were friends, right. Don't worry and STOP GOSSIPING. I have come back after being missing for a while and you all only care about some boys fight. I am upset. You all don't care about me."

I tried to divert their attention to me so that they won't gossip about that and this emotional drama worked on them.

Each and every friend of mine surrounded me and asked me now, 'If I was ok. How did I suddenly vanish at night? Was I attacked by any animal? I said, " I will answer all the questions but can we now go inside. I am tired. Oliver will bring Max after talking."

So we all went inside and I sat in a chair. I narrated my journey, editing some parts. I told them 'I heard some noise outside the door and went out to check the source of the noise. When I opened a door, I saw a cute little rabbit. I started following it without thinking and I got lost in the woods. I was trying to find my way back but I got lost more and went deeper in the woods. Soon I found myself surrounded by wolves. One of the wolf attacked me. I was scared to death and thought this will be the last day in my life. Suddenly, out of nowhere, Max came and he saved me.. '

One of my friend, suddenly interrupted me and asked me, " How did Max save you? Was he not attacked by those wolves?"

I replied, " Have patience. I was coming to that part. I was about to tell how he saved me. So, he screamed at the wolves saying, 'Hey, I am also here'. The wolves started following him giving me chance to escape but I was worried about him. I could not leave like that. Suddenly Max screamed at me, 'Go. Now. I can't hold them hold.' I replied, 'How can I leave. You will die like this.' He replied that he can climb trees and save himself so I should run and save myself. So I ran and then I fainted from fear. When I woke up, I found myself under a tree and Max was by my side, waiting for me to regain consciousness. I thanked him. He told me that he was returning after meeting his grandfather. I was scared so I requested him to take me with him and also told him that I was lost. We came back together."

I read everyone's mind to make sure they believed my story. Everyone except Taylor and Eliza believe me and they were even admiring Max.

At that moment, Oliver and Max came back. Oliver assured us saying, " We did not fight. We used to go to same school and are friends. When I transferred here, we lost contact. The way Max greeted me was because he was happy to meet me and angry because we lost contact."

Max nodded in agreement.Everyone believed him too.

After breakfast, Eliza and Taylor pulled me upstairs and asked me to tell them the truth. Taylor said, " You are not someone who needs to be saved. You could have flew and saved yourself if you were attacked by wolves and you are not even that stupid to just follow a rabbit and go into the woods. Tell us the truth now. "

I told them everything including Oliver going woods, my new powers, Max being a werewolf everything.

Then I said to Taylor, " Is Oliver still not suspicious to you? "

" He is." , Taylor replied. 

Suddenly, I heard Max calling me," Laura. Laura. Where are you? Nearly everyone has left." I asked him to come upstairs.

When he came in the room, Eliza and Taylor started observing him like a animal in zoo. I told him that that I told them everything also that he is a werewolf.

Max got annoyed at said, " Why did you tell humans about me? "

I also got angry at that and said, " These humans already know about supernatural creatures. How do you think I managed learning about my earlier powers without my biological parents. These humans helped me and are my friends and they have names too. Eliza and Taylor. Also, I will tell my family about you except the part that I got lost in the woods. I will only tell my family that I discovered new powers and you are here to help me controlling them. So I hope your cooperation. Now follow me and let's go home. Eliza and Taylor, Max will stay with me in my house."

Eliza and Taylor just stood there surprised because I have never got so angry about anything with a person uhh.. I mean wolf. I don't know what to address Max as.

Eliza hugged me and said, "My friend cares a lot about me and I love you my friend."

I was returning home in my car after saying goodbye to Eliza and Taylor. Max was sitting in my car without saying anything.

I broke the ice and said, " I am sorry for reacting like that. I hate if someone treats my friends and family poorly. They all accepted me for who I am and supported me in everything. They were not horrified by me and my powers." Why am I always the one to break the ice? First with Oliver, then Max.

Max replied, " I know. I am sorry about that. I cannot even relate how you must have felt all your life."

I replied, " There is no need to apologize. I am okay. By the way, I don't believe Oliver's story. What is the truth? Why did you react like that? No, first tell me how in the world do you even know Oliver? A werewolf goes to school. What a joke."

" WHAT? ", I screamed. 

Then, I realized that we are about to reach home. I told Max that we are about to reach home and that he should agree with whatever I will say to my parents. He agreed.

We went in the house and my mom immediately asked me about Max.

" Mom, this is Max. He is a werewolf and before you react I want to tell you something. ", I began. " I have discovered new powers because I just turned 18 so Max, being a supernatural creature will help controlling my powers because they are dangerous to you all." I expected a blast but mom just said okay.

I was surprised and said, " What? Really? Without any questions? "

Mom replied, " If he will help you then I don't have any problem. I always wanted that some supernatural creature help you with your powers." I overcame with emotions and hugged her saying, " Oh mom,"

While hugging her I continued, " I forgot to mention that Max will stay with us because..." Before I could complete my sentence mom pushed me and said, " What? No way. How can a unknown boy stay with us. I won't allow even if he is a werewolf. "

I tried to convince her saying, " Mom, because he is a werewolf he has no place to stay. He was my friend just like Taylor. Please. Please. Please, mom."

After insisting a lot she agreed but instead of guest room, she gave Max a room near Dad's study so that he can't be close to me. Typical mother.

Before sleeping, I wondered, why did Oliver go into the woods? Also I will have to train with Max from tomorrow. Thinking all this I went to sleep.
