He Has Experience

"Whoa, Soo-Ha-ssi! I wasn't expecting you to be that good!" The male judge who previously held a bit of contempt for him now looks at him eagerly.

".... I practiced hard to sing it well"

Another judge intercedes as he comments; "No, this is something you're born with, you have talent."

The man who is one of the main mentors looks at Soo-Ha with expectation, 'His got potential to be the main vocalist …. we were actually lacking vocalists this year.'

He is a famous lyricist who was popular for his blunt critique.

He smiles all the way up to his eyes, indicating just how much of a liking he has taken to the contestant.

Soo-Ha smiles softly as he thanks him for the praise.

The judges continue with their rain of compliments.

Especially the female singer, who appeared as the vocal coach. The formal idol, Hyo begins her evaluation.

"Firstly, your vocal colour is very refreshing. Your vocalisation and enunciation are good too, so that it sounds pleasant to the listener."

"Right, Hyo. His ability to add emotion as well, is something you wouldn't expect from a kid his age."

"True, true"

The sound of the two agreeing kept pouring, before Hyo quickly adds, "Also, your voice doesn't seem to suit only one genre, this is a very important factor to be an idol. You don't have any bad habits too; it seems you have been trained really well. I look forward to seeing more of you in the future."

"Thank you"

"Soo-Ha, you've recently left M.S entertainment, it seems like my friend Bo-Ah missed out on a big fish ay."

Soo-Ha, not wanting to come across as too cocky to the viewers, "Actually I couldn't sing as well when I was still with the company. So, it was acceptable for them to accept request to be released."

"You requested your own release?" A young male judge interrupts, He was a semi-popular idol whose group had recently lost 2 members in their contract renewal period not too long ago.

"Yes... I needed a change of scenery. And decided to leave in order to find my real self"

"And you think that you'll be able to do so here?"

Soo-ha nods his head, "I believe so..."

The judge who asked him can't help but admire the youth's courage, maybe if he had the same courage, he would have left the safety of his agency's ship as well.

Bang PD, "Right, since we have heard you sing, I think it's about time we see you dance?".

****

'It's done!'

Soo-ha had finally reached his target.

Since he only had 10 days to prepare for the first recording, he decided to focus on levelling-up his singing until he could no more.

Because he had spent all of his points on improving his vocal abilities, the 'Vocal' category in his current status window had quickly risen to B+.

It was the natural choice. First of all, a singer who couldn't sing, would without a doubt be cut.

Whereas even if one can't dance, you can always cover any deficiencies with enough practice.

Furthermore, there were usually fewer aspiring main vocalists than aspiring main dancers in the pool of aspiring idols.

So, if the position of the main vocalist was imprinted from the start, the chances of getting a position in the final group would increase.

Overall, it was a good strategy, but there was one person who didn't get swept away by the atmosphere, just when Soo-Ha thought he could get away with just his dancing.

Making eye contact with the producer whose hair was sunrise-gold, her face which seemed carry her expectations of him plastered across her face.

Soo-ha can't help but to be attracted to her unique, sensitive aura. One glace was enough to know she was beautiful, but Soo-Ha couldn't stop at only one.

The Producer who had interviewed him before, back in his past life he never got to work with her, but seeing her again next to other female idols who were once at the top of their field.

He can't help but admit, that her fairylike presence did not lose out even with the simple make-up she had on.

As her soothing voice continues, "I know since you were cast late, it may be unfair but given that you are a former M.S trainee, you must have prepared at least one song, right?"

Soo-Ha wasn't expecting to be cornered so early on but he knew, it would be crazy to say that, 'I didn't prepare anything' here.

It could even be said that it may be better to remain silent that to say anything remotely like that.

"Actually, I have a song in mind, but I'm not sure if I'm able to choose?"

One of the staff quickly came closer to the stage and beckoned Soo-ha close.

Approaching him, Soo-Ha said the song he had in mind.

As the camera follows, it was able to catch the staff flinching in response to Soo-Ha's words as the rest of the judges look on with a keen sense of curiosity.

Looking at the stage he set, Soo-Ha is certain he can avoid falling victim to the editors' scissors.

While PD Bang seems to think to herself while watching the scene unfold,

'This kid has more than just good senses, he has experience, he knows how to keep the audience interested.'

She is quickly distracted when, a cheerful accompaniment begins playing through the speakers on set.

"...!?"
